- SEASON 3 UPDATE: There were no necessary changes to my Paragon setup in Season 3 (Patch 1.3.0), and this video guide is still up-to-date.
This is the best Paragon setup for Lightning Sorcerers, including Ball Lightning, Arc Lash, Chain Lightning and Charged Bolts builds. I reworked all Sorcerer paragon setups for Season 2 (Patch 1.2.0) due to the changes to Critical Strike Damage, Vulnerable Damage and Static Surge Legendary Node. By far the best and most accurate video I have found for electric based Sorcerer. I have been struggling as I’m new to Diablo boards. I didn’t know what I was doing 😂sitting here with 1 board and 116 points, that I had no idea you can even branch out the board for more! This information you have given is a huge eye opener, I’m going to copy your board and try it, as I’m now currently level 85 (almost) 86, and cannot seem to even survive Helltide… thank you for taking the time and energy to make this for all of us noobs 😊
I'm glad the video was helpful. There is a lot of power you are missing out on in Paragon, and a proper setup will make a huge difference.
maxroll is also top notch if you're looking for a different paragon build that is arguably stronger, however, I'm going to start with this icyveins build first, provided by lexyu.
Ok I did your paragon board to a T I used the exact same glyphs at first when I saw my weapons ball lightning damage drop about 30k because of not using one of the glyphs I had I was like no way this is going to suck. YOU are a god I am running through tier 50 nightmare dungeons now literally screens are dead before I even get to the enemy to kill them. I’m doing level 90s and higher absolutely no problem now. This is by far the best paragon build I have ever done. Thank you so so much.
I'm glad it worked out for you. Tooltip and Attack Power numbers are misleading because they don't account for all damage increases.
I try to always use your paragon setup for Sorcerers. Your setups are the best. I do have one suggestion that would help me, and probably others. When you are talking through each board, your cursor movements are so fast from one point to the other it's hard to get a screen shot of your unobstructed board layout. If you could pause for just a second or two at the beginning of each board it would give us a second of unobstructed view of the board for a screen shot before you get into the specifics of that particular board. I was following your Chain lightning build which was fun bit am starting to switch to ball lightning now since all the rage about the broken setup .
My question is, i f i wanted to stick it out with your CL build, how far content wise can it reach performance wise. I,d like to complete all content this season, level 100 ND and all of the Uber bosses.?
Chain Lightning is easily capable of clearing T100. It will be more difficult to finish Uber Lilith and Duriel, so I recommend switching to Ball Lightning eventually.

I just beat the campaign for the first time and I'm now just jumping into world tier 3. This is my first time playing diablo so I'm still quite new to this. During the campaign on world tier 2 I noticed nothing really was difficult enough that I felt like I needed all the survivability from skills and paragon so I dropped stuff recommended in your guides for more flat damage increases. At what point in difficulty do you think it's necessary to drop just pure damage for survivability?
It just depends on how you play. I tend to go more glass cannon to quickly speed through content as well, but you will need to focus more on survivability once you start dying often.
What about using Esu’s Heirloom now that it’s fixed?
Esu's Heirloom is useful if you don't cap crit chance already with an Elementalist Aspect, or you are playing a proc damage build that doesn't work with Elementalist Aspect.
What's best? imprint yellow items that usually seem to have better stats rolls according to what usually is recommended on the guides or wait for a good legendary? those never have the recommended stats.
Rare and Legendary Items have the same possible stats and values. Look for high item power items with 3 desired stats and use enchanting for the 4th.
Is this the final version after the 5% damage nodes have been moved to the final glyph? If not can you elaborate on which nodes should be removed from other places and which nodes should be added to the last glyph?

why not take chain lightning and use enchantment for mana on bounce? i think much better recourse control than lightning spear
Are you talking about the Ball Lightning build? I rather have Teleport and Firebolt Enchantment and not have to drop another Offensive Aspect.
How do your nodes have that much reach? Mine go one less square out to look for dex nodes than yours.

The Paragon setups are the same for both Seasonal and Eternal Realm.
Hey man again. What about Heirloom boots on ball light endgame? I got also Flickerstep. But im on high movement speed now...?
Esu's Heirloom is not needed, as crit chance is already capped with 60% from an Elementalist Amulet and 40% base. Flickerstep is optional, but does not work with Teleport Enchantment. Check the Unique Item sections in the endgame guides on Icy Veins.

so every other dmg gliphs (elementarist) are useless at this point?
Elementalist is decent, it just doesn't provide as much damage the other offensive glyphs used.
So I have a question for you and I get it if you don’t have time to set down and give me the info but, so I did sorcerer ball lightning build and I’m doing pretty good damage I’m using fire bolt and chained lightning for my 2 enchantments. I’m using a wand and a focus for my weapons and I’m having no issue with mana regeneration. I’m using temerity for pants for the barrier but I have pretty much all the pants for the sorcerer to pick from and I have around 14k health but I’m working on getting better armor it’s around 7500 but it ramps up to around 12500 once I’m fighting with a aspect I’m using but once I step into a zir dungeon I seem to do ok damage but get deleted by one shots out of the blue. My poison lightning and so on are at 70% so I have like 5 boards and I’m working on all the glyphs I have the 5 I’m using at 21 but I did a 6th to 21 and swapped it out on my first board from crackling energy damage to elementelist. So what I’m getting at is what boards should I use in what order and what glyphs in what order to maximize my damage and tankiness. I just can’t seem to get through a tier 1 zir dungeon and if I get up past a level 80 nightmare dungeon I’m deleted pretty fast. I see other level 100 sorcerers killing Lilith and doing level 100 dungeons like a level 50 and killing Lilith in a few seconds. So my thinking is a big part is my glyph and board selections and I need more damage reduction and armor percentages to help in the tankyness area. Any help would be appreciated. I have people tell me to use that website and copy a build but I like my build I’m just lacking in knowledge of the paragon board because I think that’s my big issue. Thank you
Temerity is your first issue since it lacks Damage Reduction affixes. You can find my recommended gear in the written guide on Icy Veins.
The reason I use temerity though is because it gives me a huge barrier like 12k so they have to chew through that the health. It’s saved me a ton of times but I have most all the uniques not any Uber uniques yet bad luck there but what pants are you suggesting then. I’ll check out the icy veins never been on the site
Dam I took a ton of screen shots for this build though so I’ll reset my board and give it a try. Thanks for the info I’m looking forward to changing the board tonight. I’ll let you know how it goes
Can u please tell me if stats on items are more or less the same in eternal and season? Or change a lot?
Stats, Aspects and Paragon are all the same for Seasonal and Eternal Realms. The only difference is you won't have access to Vampiric Powers in Eternal.

Good explanation,but,you didnt show,how the boards looks like,so fuckin confusing,im a charged bolts,and i cant find boards and glyphs for that,any boards i found not a same ones as i have,from start 😡😡😡
