- In this project, I took on the challenge of using only sounds created from the Wavetable Oscillator Model on the Roland SH-4d. All sounds were created from scratch (initialized states).
The title of the work, "Bioluminescent Shores" comes from my memories of visiting Newport Beach in California one evening while I was in college. While I walked the shore with my friends in the dead of night, I saw waves not just reflecting the moonlight, but glowing with their own luminance. I had never heard of bioluminescence, and the impact was pure magic.

I love my SH-4d and have it connected to the Keystep through my PC. I haven't played with the wavetable side much yet. This is definitely inspiring. The SH-4d is so versatile, it was a no-brainer to get this as my main hardware synth. Your channel definitely helped me make my decision to get the SH-4d.
I’m glad I helped. I was inspired when I saw the early reviews, but was afraid it might just be GAS. It’s been a year, and its compact form, portability, sound quality, and versatility make it one of my favorite units.
@@lectronin I have too many software synths I get distracted with, so haven't used my SH-4d as much as I should. I'm sure that will be remedied soon as it has so much to offer. Definitely a great decision to purchase it
This synth is such a great example of the hivemind being very wrong. So underrated!. Now if only they would update it...
Agreed. Some may have been quick to judge it. I wish Roland would show it some of the love that the SP-404 mk2 receives.
