    @I see what you mean about the small angle brackets... they are an eye sore but luckily not seen when the piece is fully stocked. Really like the design friend, keep up the good work!

    Love that design. The construction is a compromise, but the over all look is brilliant. Also love the hot glue idea for ripping the lipping, much safer than ripping thin strips against the fence...subscribed!

    Agree with you on veneered chip board Kieth. Horrible stuff. Still, using these often reclaimed materials is keeping it "rag n' bone" so kudos there. Really like the design of the piece. Manages to look both contemporary and vintage - much like vinyl itself! Good stuff.

    Hi Keith,just want to say you did a first rate job,especialy working with veneered chipboard,has I mentioned before,you have to tread very carefully with the stuff,but I can see in the vidio you were taking great care,adult the end production was top notch,you are definatley gaining in confidence,especialy has it is not your chosen trade,well done,take care and be happy

    Personally, I would have edge banded the ends before assembly. This would have resulted in a much cleaner look. I do, however, love your tip for cutting thin strips.

    Another great build Keith, nice one. Newbie question: why varnish before wax? I imagined it would prevent/hinder the wax from soaking into the veneer?

    • @RagnBoneBrown
      @RagnBoneBrown  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. The varnish was added for extra protection as wax isn’t particularly hard wearing and wax always needs to be applied last. Even with a seal coat of varnish, wax still fills the grain, changes the colour, adds smoothness and can be buffed to a nice sheen 👍

      Rag 'n' Bone Brown sounds good. Commissions are ALWAYS nice..I'm too scared to video mine I did one time and screwed it up big time cuz I was worried more about the camera angle although that was like 2-3 yes ago but it cost me like 500$usd."/ so I sd never again will I bid a commission that's why I haven't made any REAL videos in a long time have quite a bit of work ahead of me.gotta pay the bills ,🍻

    nice work! Was there any reason you went with BLO for the feet and apron rails over the briwax/varnish finish? til that there is a different pronunciation of briwax

    • @RagnBoneBrown
      @RagnBoneBrown  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I ran out of spray varnish hence using BLO instead to get it finished. I always get comments saying I’m pronouncing briwax wrong so thought I’d try saying it the right way for once!

  • @chrislogue2276
    @chrislogue2276 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Keith. Great work man! I was just wondering, whats the deal with the spray varnish? You seem to use it quite a bit but I've never tried it. Why do you use it over normal or wipe on?

    • @RagnBoneBrown
      @RagnBoneBrown  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It dries super quick so good when in a hurry and I find it’s easier to apply evenly than brushing on. Wipe on varnish is expensive/hard to come by.

    • @chrislogue2276
      @chrislogue2276 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, that's good to know about the dry time. I can see that being handy. Brushing varnish well is a bit of a chore I agree. For wiping varnish, I was under the impression it was just thinned varnish. So a white spirit cut or something like that? I could be wrong on that though.

  • @theopiner402

    Funny how both England and America speak English but both countries still manage to pronounce things differently. Where you say “Bry Wax”, I would say “Bree Wax.” :)
