  • Hi! My name is Abhinav and I am a UK based documentary filmmaker. I am originally from India and have been researching about Roma and Sinti people for over five years now. Whilst growing up in India I learnt about the World Wars and was taught about the events of the Holocaust. I learnt how the Jews were persecuted and killed by the Nazis, however I never knew that along with the Jews so many Romani and Sinti people were killed too. Ever since I heard about that, I wanted to understand more from the perspective of those communities.
    My search ended when I came across Bizzely's TH-cam channel. He is a Sinti who lives in Germany. He is a university student and also runs a TH-cam channel teaching people about his culture. When we connected over the internet, I asked him if he would be interested to share his personal story on camera to which he agreed. What I didn't realise though was that he was going to take me to the place in Stuttgart where they shoved Roma and Sinti people into railway carriages to be taken to Auschwitz. The place is knows as 'symbol of remembrance' or 'zeichen der erinnerung' in Deutsch.
    It has been a very emotional story for me to tell as a TH-camr. I always knew that I might one day have such an opportunity to tell a story like this but I didn't know that it would leave me heartbroken. I hope you learn something new from this short documentary and join hands with me as I continue to tell these important stories.
    Here's a link to Bizzely's channel if you would like to give him a follow and learn more about him;

    Laccho Dives, It's me! Thank you Abhinav for beeing in Stuttgart and making that Video about us Sinti. Because our voice is really marginalized, because nobody really sees us because we are only so few! In Romani-Science and Internet are so many lies about Sinti, that all should be corrected. Time is near!

    I am speechless Abhinav! 😮
    It took me a while to think about how I should react to Bizzely/Franz story! It was heartbreaking to know that his great-grandparents & the extended family members were victims of genocide!😢
    I can understand how heavy your heart would be while compiling this video!
    I had tears in my eyes when I came to know that 90% Sinti people were killed!
    After all that they had gone through, they still managed to preserve their identity & culture is indeed commendable! 🙏
    My good wishes & happiness to all Sinti people! 👍

    Abhinav bro, as an Indian I never knew about Roma and Sinti people that they are our lost brothers. I am really overwhelmed by this video. Can you please let me know about Roma people i.e. who were Romas, which region of India they cane from, where are they settled now? As you know India has now grown economically substantially and also commands considerable international clout so how can India help them to dignity their life. We can push Indian government to take up the genuine cause of these lost children of India.
