Howard Hawks comes across as polite and affable in this interview. Unlike John Ford in the few interviews I've seen of him, Hawks doesn't appear surly.

Marvelous. But,, to tell the truth, Hawks made one western without John Wayne: The Big Sky, 1952, with Kirk Douglas.
