I received my Laguna 16-32 from IGM yesterday. The 10-percent holiday discount and free shipping to Germany made this a no-brainer. I'll make sure I loosen the two screws as soon as I assemble the unit to the base.
Ah that’s a great comment to read, I remember the frustration I went through wondering why mine wasn’t that easy to operate. If I can help others avoid that, job well done 😁 enjoy your belt sander it’s a great machine 🤟
Hey mine works fairly easily but it’s not too easy. Seems okay. I actually leave my lever activated all the time. I wonder if anyone has ever had issues leaving it on so to speak. I think I saw somewhere that it shouldn’t be but I don’t know what it could do harm to.
@@davidbryanwoodworksandmore I can’t be sure but I’d imagine if the tension if set to “off” so you can sand extra wide boards it may produce uneven results if that makes sense? When loosened it introduces a slight gradient to compensate for the overlap if that makes sense. That’s my understanding anyhow. So I’d only activate it on doing wide boards. As far as being harmful to the machine I shouldn’t think so otherwise I can’t imagine they would of produced it as a feature 🤷♂️
The same issue happened to me. I have watched numerous videos on these machines yet none mentioned this important step. Like you I did not read the manual throughly. I have got used to poorly written manuals, so why bother. I am trying to buy a replacement rod in Australia.
Good luck with that I had to contact the distributor here in CZ directly for a replacement. Yeah it’s so poorly documented so that’s why I made this video so I hope others can avoid what happened to us 🙌 good luck hope you get it sorted sooner rather then later my friend 👍
My bad, it was Supermax tools 16-32 drum sander video from 6 years ago. 4:40 of the video and also lagunas conveyor belt replacement video touches on it. Oh and instruction manual also says it.
U saved me 🙏🏻 thanx buddy - I started pulling on the lever and it didn’t feel right so ran a search and found U 😊
This makes me happy 😁 if I can prevent one other going through what I did then my work is done 🙏😊
I should have read also. Thanks. Stumbled upon your video and it was just what I needed.
@@miamited69 amazing 🙌 really happy to hear this video helps people 😁🙏 enjoy your drum sander 🙌
Getting ready to purchase one. Thanks mate!!!
It’ll be a great purchase, glad you know to loosen the bolts now 😁
Thanks for your information.
Thanks for this.
Glad it helped, seems to get a lot of people 😅
Great video
Thanks dude 😁🤙

If you lost the screw use Loktite Screw Secrure fluide … it never loosen again for shure
Ha ha I lost it even before I had the chance to loctite it, must of been plotting its escape from the get go :-)

And this a poorly written manual.
Broken equipment is more manly than reading the manual.
In the manliest of ways we must be kindred spirits… Grrrr 😅
Laguna has a video showing this exact feature.
This video doesn’t show the feature it shows what needs to be done to access the feature and not break your machine 🤔
