I liked using two of them in AC4:A. Especially against dual swords. Light dual swords could easily speed blitz everything, but fat heavy donkey punching AC could put anything down as long as you could correctly trade into the sword slashes.

Was tryna be more aggressive for a faster clear, and what resulted was a bunch of spears that didnt quite land properly, leaving it to escape and ruin the run, or when it gets stunned mid air and i miss time the pile bunker and it hits the air. Purely skill issue. Nailed it after a few tries haha
Wow, didn’t realize so many people were running the same build. Took me a total of 2 hours but the successful run only lasted what felt like a minute and a half. The longest part of the fight being the res.
*points out you can have a two shotgun + pilebunker build* Why choose, when you can have both? Just run your two shotguns normally, then switch to the pile bunker when something needs to get violated.
for this mission in particular there were a lot of enemies, especially clumped in groups. I wanted to have missiles to quickly deal with those plus, I didn't have 2 zimmerman's yet
Or you could have a left shoulder PILE BUNKER along with your left hand PILE BUNKER, so that while your PILE BUNKER is reloading you can switch to your other PILE BUNKER. Combine that with a long melee boost and melee canceling (QB at the end of your melee boost) and I bet you can get really oppressive, using one bunk to stagger the enemy and the other to core it.
The Pile Bunker is pure insanity, I love how people have builds around JUST the Pile Bunker in multiple Armored Core games. Also, honorable mention for a great Pile Bunker goes to the Pile Bunker mounted to a Bleed in LP2. It's no Armored Core Pile Bunker but it's fun to use.
I've become that guy. I didn't use the pile bunker much during my first playthrough because I was like "Huh, damn, it's the coolest melee weapon but it sure is hard to get a full charge off on someone." Turns out, basing your entire build around staggering people easier so you can get just ONE good charged bunker shot off is the best feeling and incredibly effective. Shotgun-bunker is my new religion.

MY magnum opus in AC4FA was a dual blade AC to transport my infinite assault armor nukes at 2.6km/h. There were 2 weaknesses: Out of bounds low ceiling map. Indoor map vs a pile bunker that railed me before the explosion. Never 180d opinion on a weapon harder
My favorite kill with the pile bunker was the first warship you face. Just imagine being the captain, seeing this mech glide across your hull and break your turrets. You think the end will come quickly, but then a fucking pointy metal stick gets shoved into the ship and then freakin explodes. Just one moment of confusion and then just boom
"That's a lovely cockpit you have. It would be a _real_ shame if I fired an explosively-driven armor-piercing stake through it like the most out of control vampire hunter of all time."
After beating the rocket sphere with flame swords, I don't think I can give up Dual Gatlings And Dual Cannons on tank treads. But if I ever do, I'll be sure to give the pile bunker...oh wait I didn't say it right. I'll be sure to give the PILE BUNKER a try.
My man, I did a lot of the bosses using the gatlings, stun needle, song birds. Basically the best/most common way to cheese most encounters. I’m just about to start my second play through but felt bad I only was crunching one play style. Medium size and it’s big f*ing guns. So even if it wasn’t my play style in the slightest I pushed myself to go with a build I wouldn’t do and just try to make it work with the experience gained in the first time round. Light weight build. And from what I’ve heard double shotgun is really fun/good. I used it last night and omg. Double shotgun with lance on backup melee. So much fun I promise. Best bit is the second shoulder weapon is up to you. Especially if you can find the medium weight inverted legs in one of the hidden chests. Allows for a lot more freedom of choice. I’ll even put my build her if your interested.
Point is, the game has so many weapons. It feels like I’m ignoring the game to just use a small handful of the best ones. Some are pointless sure but push the boat out. (Plus I tried using those weapons in pvp and got clapped) Start with just a simple idea like “I wanna make a four legged ac” or “ can I make weapon ____ work”?
Ah the wheelchair, get up bro, run a guy down for his foams with reverse joints and a fuckton of plasma. There are so many fun ways to play if you just decide to stand up and drop the meta weapons

Getting all the hidden chests then ganna run through second over the next week then have some fun getting the true ending. So you say ibis 2.0 and a know that some boss fights change but got no idea how or what it means… yet😈😁

The Pile Bunker is one of the best weapons for the Bleed, the other top tier weapon would be the Laser Lance. It's hilarious how powerful the Bleed can be with the right weapons. Man now I want to play LP2 again...
Once I unlocked the Pile Bunker, I 've combined it with my double shotguns, the feeling of staggering an enemy AC and CRUSHING IT like a soup can is incredibly addictive! A Tip: If you want to get the most out of this playstyle - use the arms with the highest melee dmg modifier, also make sure to invest in Direct dmg AND the Melee dmg OS upgrades to get 30+ ℅ dmg. Optionaly if you want to use dual melee (like a lance + PB) use the booster with the highest melee boost modifier( it affects speed+distance during the melee attacks).
Kikaku thruster + Basho arms for maximum melee power (they have the highest boosts to melee DMG) With these, you can 1-2 shot any and every boss with ease

My best moment with the Pile Bunker was on the first fight with Raven. We both got a hit on each other with it at the same time. Coolest moment in a game for me
Looks at my AC "Huh... I'm a bit too heavy for any of my boosters..." Looks at the fairly well rounded loadout, save for the Pilebunker that's been glued to my left hand slot since I unlocked it. "I think I see where I messed up." Proceeds to drop the entire loadout for a CQB focal, high speed, low stability, low AP build Get bodied at the first sign of resistance "Clearly, I didn't pilebunker hard enough"
Now *this* is the kind of thing to convince me to check out a new game! I don't care how good faster or higher potential weapons are, there is a big stick *and the enemy will be swiftly introduced to it at any and all opportunities*
Theres just something about the unstopabble power of a explosive powered metal spike weighting 1 ton destroying most enemies in one hit that just makes it the best weapon in the game Also when you get to THAT fight and you learn the true power of the combos on your on flesh and metal.
With a game about the future galaxy dooming March towards resource extraction... nothing feels better then returning to monkey and the power of a BIG POINTY STICK
So glad more people are seeing why I love the stake driver from Bloodborne now that stagger is a thing, making it just easier enough for people to be like “oh wait this is awesome”
Pile bunker really needs some love in the first balance patch. With how hard it is to hit and how useless it is against unstaggered enemies, it really should be the be all end all of punish, but it just doesn't hit hard enough to live up to it's name
@@synical69 even with the max melee mod arms you can squeeze at most 7k on a stunned target, which comes in only a tiny bit higher than the much more consistent and easier to land laser slicer's 6k combo, and is basically the same damage as a dual stun needle shot, in exchange for needing perfect timing, point blank range, and a dud weapon slot in ranged combat. The pile bunker should be an obliteratingly powerful decisive blow as per it's namesake, but it ends up barely even on top in the damage department, despite all its usability shortcomings
The fact that so many people gotta yell "PILE BUNKER" at least one time as they dash into an enemy for the critical strike speaks volumes on how damn satisfying this weapon is to use
imagine taking a walk at the park then you just hear the words "PILE BUNKER" and right after the next step you take you're seamlessly teleported into the void
The moment I found the Pulebunker, I equipped it to my main AC and never removed it. As a fellow user I can confirm you have to scream 'Pilebunker' whenever you kill an enemy with it when possible.
The moment I got it i never unequipped it. It carried me trough 3 playtroughs and all S ranks. Double Zimmermans until stun into Pilebunker into Canon is pure bliss. Keep it up my fellow Vlads and Penetrators 👑

A Tip: If you want to get the most out of this playstyle - use the arms with the highest melee dmg modifier, also make sure to invest in Direct dmg AND the Melee dmg OS upgrades to get 30+ ℅ dmg.
Optionaly if you want to use dual melee (like a lance + PB) use the booster with the highest melee boost modifier( it affects speed+distance during the melee attacks).
Try pile bunker with the lance. Lance will instant stagger 95% of enemies in the game when charged, and will lead into a free pile bunker one shot
Or if you are lucky against someone like Freud
Your shotguns will stagger enough for your charged lance to one shot him
Kikaku thruster + Basho arms for maximum melee power (they have the highest boosts to melee DMG)
With these, you can 1-2 shot any and every boss with ease

Theres just something about the unstopabble power of a explosive powered metal spike weighting 1 ton destroying most enemies in one hit that just makes it the best weapon in the game
Also when you get to THAT fight and you learn the true power of the combos on your on flesh and metal.
With a game about the future galaxy dooming March towards resource extraction... nothing feels better then returning to monkey and the power of a BIG POINTY STICK

Pile bunker really needs some love in the first balance patch. With how hard it is to hit and how useless it is against unstaggered enemies, it really should be the be all end all of punish, but it just doesn't hit hard enough to live up to it's name

@@synical69 even with the max melee mod arms you can squeeze at most 7k on a stunned target, which comes in only a tiny bit higher than the much more consistent and easier to land laser slicer's 6k combo, and is basically the same damage as a dual stun needle shot, in exchange for needing perfect timing, point blank range, and a dud weapon slot in ranged combat. The pile bunker should be an obliteratingly powerful decisive blow as per it's namesake, but it ends up barely even on top in the damage department, despite all its usability shortcomings
