We really liked Peng and Joey’s approach when it comes to buying a resale flat. While many would point out the low lease remaining as an issue, it’s more important that you purchase a home that you truly love and feel comfortable in. Peng and Joey has really exemplified by transforming the space into one that fits their lifestyle, especially with that open seamless balcony. Which part of the flat is your favourite? What a beautiful cozy home! Reflects both the owners vibes n taste. Love how they have already foresee that this will be their forever home - quite a refreshing mentality 👍🏻
Beautiful home. Yes not everything is about dollars and cents :) Having a place you love to be in everyday is worth more than turning a profit in the future.
Nice and spacious la. Old flats have more character but sometimes can hv structural problems due to the age like water seepage and spalling. The dog is so cute 🤩
Congrats to them for living in the moment & putting happiness first & foremost. I believe they would have alternative investments to meet their future needs & goals etc. However, if they shall need to sell in the next decade or so, they might need to take a loss to move on. Because in this modern era, especially for the younger generation, u hardly see them staying put in a home beyond 15yrs.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yes for an old property, the younger generation might find its age unappealing. They would also be thinking what would happen to the flat if they sell it next time? Older folks who want to downgrade may not consider such a big space, and could better utilise their cash for retirement by going for a smaller flat. Old flats would also have its limitations when it comes to CPF usage for young buyers, so this is something to be cautious about.
Very nice. They also extended the master so that the hallway is not so long and so that they can have a built-in wardrobe where the master toilet door would have been.
I wonder what are the relations between the theme timeless which also signify a long-term place that they want to live when it's a resale hdb with limited lease remaining..
Hey! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think it means that it would look good through the decades, so even the future buyers who want minimal renovation would like it 😀
Thanks for sharing! In some sense, it's like new launches. Back when prices were affordable, the HDB could afford to build big. Today if the HDB builds this size, it becomes out of reach for many, or become insanely expensive in the resale market - not something the HDB would like 👀
The problem with old HDBs is the kitchen in the bathroom. I entertain a lot and my children have a lot more privacy with the common bathroom near their bedrooms.
This is better than paying 10m for an apartment in Orchard and not be able to open the windows or blind due to close proximity of the apartment besides.
This property makes me feel very dark and cramped due to the insufficient lighting, choice of wood color. Furthermore seems like there is no theme to the design except the "feature" wooden wall...

Beautiful home. Would like to know your sofa sets brand. Can share?
Hey Jason! Thanks for your question! You can reach the owners directly to check - their handle is in the description. Thanks!
I don't see any place we can connect with the owner, nothing mentioned at the description.
I Like it!!!
Hey Earl! Glad you do 🙌 Thank you for watching!

I want to move to Joo Koon too after watching this. :) Swee!
😂 Glad you're inspired! Thanks for watching!
I think he said 'Joo Seng'.
Can I know where did they get their sofa from?
Hey thanks for reaching out! You can check with the owners directly on their profile, their handle's in the description above 👌
Puppy
🙌
They don't build these flats anymore. HDB keeps pushing for the BTO crap. Less space and more expensive.
Thanks for sharing! In some sense, it's like new launches. Back when prices were affordable, the HDB could afford to build big. Today if the HDB builds this size, it becomes out of reach for many, or become insanely expensive in the resale market - not something the HDB would like 👀
I hope you have put on invisible grille for the safety of your puppy.
how they managed to make a balcony? nice
Hey Colin! You can check with them on the details of their renovation journey if you'd like! Their bio is in the description 👌
Kudos
🙌
How much was the price for the 35 year old unit?
Hey! A 5-room flat here can go for almost $600K 👌
@@StackedHomes thanks for that, wow that’s quite expensive for a 5A resale with just 64 years left.. but I guess these kind are rarer now
What dog is that?
Nice
🙌
Which area is this?
joo seng - it's in toa payoh
1400+ sqft is not small... Especially when the layout makes use of the space so well
1400+ sqft is definitely not small at all 😀
The problem with old HDBs is the kitchen in the bathroom. I entertain a lot and my children have a lot more privacy with the common bathroom near their bedrooms.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Veronique!
There are some older HDBs (20 years or so) with bathrooms along the corridor.
This is better than paying 10m for an apartment in Orchard and not be able to open the windows or blind due to close proximity of the apartment besides.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Love the timeless design, it looks fresh & inviting. Does the design come from ID or just the both of you?
It's really gorgeous! The home owners engaged an ID for their flat 👌
biggest plus: no stupid bomb shelter.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the place!
how much was the reno?
Hey! Thanks for your question, you can check with the homeowners directly on their IG. Their handle is in the description above 👌 Thanks for watching!
@@StackedHomes What's their IG?
@@ianchan311 it’s listed inside the description. instagram.com/joosenghouse
Future generations will not enjoy these. So enjoy it while it last and pray that no en bloc happens after spending so much. That’s the reality now.
Thanks for sharing!
YOU CAN REMOVE WINDOWS ON HDB?? I thought cannot??
Because that's the balcony so the original HDB design didn't include windows for it anyway.
This property makes me feel very dark and cramped due to the insufficient lighting, choice of wood color. Furthermore seems like there is no theme to the design except the "feature" wooden wall...

Sofa put like that got fengshui problem. 背后无靠山。影响事业。behind got a mirror. No good. Apart from that. Great house!
😂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
