I see your point. Coming from 7 and 8 when 1st u had multiple 9000+ damage strikes and later a long ass summon which broke de 9999 damage chart, 9 and their summons feel weak in comparison, also they are pretty much wasted potential b'cause your main summoners are also your main healers. But i think it a was a developer's desicion to balance the game. In 8 for example, limit breaks and summons were kinda broken making the last bosses a breeze to defeat. Also u have to add the fact that in that game and 7, bosses had over 100000 hp, reaching the whooping number of 1 million+ at the omega weapon fight. In comparison ff9 bearly surpasses de 50k hp mark being ozma the toughest 65k or 70k hp. So i see why the 9999 damage limit. The damge of Eidolons increases with the numbers of Gems you hold. So if you have enough "Garnet" gems in your inventory Bahamut easily deals 9999 damage and since thats pretty much the best you can do in 1 turn I say that is pretty good. Carbuncles reflect buff lasts such a short amount of time that I found it not to be that usefull. I got more use out of Bahamut. Getting a alot of "Garnets" is pretty easy. Yes Pheonix is awsome.

The only time I ever triggered rebirth flame was on my first ever playthrough as a kid and Hades KO’d me when he had like 1000 health left. I screamed so loud my mom thought I was dying.
1. Ifrit looks devolved. 2. Bahamut here looks like re textured Bahamut from FF7. 3. Atomos looks like just a gigantic meat wall. And its percentage attack is more off than Diablos. 4. Odin's went from having an imposing but elegant looking sword from FF8 to a garage sale one here.

Anyway 9 is still my favourite game and still prefer it over the 2 others of the ps1 era.
@@regizero333 I dont get the point of summons being wastet becuse the summoners are healers. Yes the healers are busy healing but if the party is healthy I think its great that the healers have the option to deal damage.
Best Final Fantasy Ever

FF9 effects looks better than modern day mobile RPGs eventhough it's made 20 yrs ago...
Back when I played FF9 I hav no idea the mechanic wherein Eiko's summoning effects could be changed even existed! Decades later, I discover it on the www. Oh Well. I suppose I could dust off my old PS2 and replay it.
Wow I have missed out a lot of summons!!
Wuowww the 60 fps really show!! I used to play this game using emulator on crappy pc and latter on PSP, there are always slowdown during summon
It's 30fps in fields and 15fps in battle/summons.
I have played this game to absolute death and thought I’d pretty much seen everything, but I had no idea you could get different variations of the carbuncle summon , what the hell
Ark is like watching a whole movie
That's how I felt when I would W-summon KoR and spam mime against Emerald in 7.
Ngl, I kinda zoned out halfway through Ark’s summon and had to rewind and rewatch a bit of it >.
Ark should gave been a multiple damage summon since so much is happening
Still impressed by how good was FF9 Bahamut design.
Best version of bahamutn, and megaflare
you must really hate The Beatles
Leviathan has always been my all time favourite.
4:47 lucky bug escaped insta-death!
died a second later
Good thing summons get nerfed in battles otherwise there wouldn't be a world left to save by the end of this.
I’ve never seen that last one wow!
The way ff9 added the word "death" to signify an instant death effect looks silly, its like - "thank you captain obvious" no need to rub it on our faces. But honestly, aside from Carbuncle and Phoenix, the rest of the eidolons featured are merely for aesthetic purposes only if used in battle.
My attempt on Ozma was saved by Phoenix triggering.
all summons attack in ff9 r pretty simple n straight to the point (except ark of course) but powerful... n i still prefer ff9's Leviathan over ff15 one...
Yes, I feel Leviathan and Bahamut were best in FF9, and Ifrit was best in FF8. Phoenix was best in... heck, really all the PS1 generation summons were pretty damn awesome.
You know an attack is cool when you can see it from space xD
This is so well edited. Thanks.
The only time I ever triggered rebirth flame was on my first ever playthrough as a kid and Hades KO’d me when he had like 1000 health left. I screamed so loud my mom thought I was dying.
Wonder why they renamed Ark into Cruise Chaser in FFXIV. Guess it's the same family, just a different "guy."
ALL eidolons in FF9 are DOPE, except for one, Ifrit. he seems half-baked IMHO 😔
@@rdu239 remember that odin lost his sword

Now I know what to watch on my Big Screen. (⌐■_■): Favs; Phoenix, Fenrir, Madeen and Leviathan. 👍🏼👍🏼 Thank you for nostalgia moments. (FFIX updated 2020)
i always choose millenial decay and terra homing for summons
Me favorites were ark and bahamut...
@@cacadordenarcisistas4235 ark great but long scene
Garnet: _Summons Ark_
Ark: _FORWARD AND BACK AND GO FORWARD AND BACK AND THEN GO FORWARD AND BACK AND PUT ONE FOOT FORWARD-_
huh I didn't know you could get different buffs off of carbuncle
Bless Garnet's Trance state model 🙏
Didn't realise carbuncle did different lights
Destroying the known universe to kill some butterflies, those poor things
Will never forget being at the last boss thinking I lost but then Phoenix rose me from the ashes and I proceeded to win. Still chasing that high til this day lmao
I think there is one missing. If i remember correctly Odin has two attackes. The second with the Spear ist possible when you eqip the relic odeur
