FF7 will always be my personal favourite due to nostalgia but I do consider FF9 to be a near perfect game. There is very little about this game I dislike.
My little wishlist of ideas for FF9 remake: - Optional sidequest of finding Fratley, culminating in an epic boss battle against him - Punishment and redemption arc for Beatrix, because last time I checked, she's still a war criminal - Consecutive battles against the Four Fiends - Full experience of exploring the Mist Continent gates - Backstory for Amarant and maybe some for Lani as well - Sidequests or mini games related to rebuilding Alexandria and Lindblum. - Will try to add more later lol
@@kueapel911yes to more areas and the same artstyle. My list is more of an expansion pack than a remake haha tho I think the world map could use a big jump graphics wise

I absolutely adore this game. The nostalgia is simply unreal for me with this masterpiece. A perfect game in every conceivable way, from its amazing cast, to flawless pacing, fantastic story and arguably the greatest soundtrack ever!!
@@billcox8870 Damn, I could only imagine what it would have been like to experience the birth of this series first hand. You have witnessed FF from a very unique perspective. The ups and downs from the very beginning up until now. I was fortunate enough to experience the launch of FF7. It was my first FF game. FF7 blew my mind and made me a fan of the series going forward. That being said, I played FF9 a few years later and that game changed my life. It came out at the perfect time for me and resonated with me so much. Even until this day, it still makes me tear up just to think about it and how much it shaped my childhood. It's literally the perfect FF game in my humble opinion.
Currently playing through VI, and i cant wait to get to this game! Im playing through them in order and I-V have been a masterpiece of an experience! By far my favorite game series of all time!!
Absolutely loved this! Gonna rewatch and share a lot. More content like this please. FFT, XII or heck just continue with IX. I'm super impressed and loved it a lot.
This is my favorite kind of video you guys do. The smooth transitions like telling a story rather than listing things off. It’s pleasing to the mind. Thanks going with this and can’t wait to hear more about the rest of the series.
I love this recap of some of the lesser lore threads and how they tie into the bigger plot threads. It's such a rich world they created for FF9. Thank you for sharing your hard work on this!
What an awesome game FF9 is. Been like 3 years since I last played it and I’m getting that urge again. I have a save at the start of the game that has “that” thing already done so I don’t have to torture myself (ocd silliness). Game has so much charm. Best Chocobo minigame, and while the card game isn’t as rewarding as 8’s, I’ve grown to like it once i finally understood it. Quite a lot in this video I was unaware of! Great video!
I took the card game eriously for the first time on my recent playthrough and enjoyed it a lot! It needs a more thorough explanation in the game. I had to rely on TH-cam videos to learn how it really worked lol
I don't think I've ever been this early for one of your videos. I enjoy your creations and I'm sure this one is going to be a treat too. Thanks for everything that you're doing!
Loved the video. I actually learned a few things from this one about FF9 I had not known before. I would like to see a continuation of FF9 as it looks like just the surface was scratched (barely made it halfway through disc 2, there has hardly been mentioned any of the lore outside of the mist continent). Of course any of the Final Fantasy series would be really cool to see a video on. FF8 is one I would really like to see as it is my favorite in the series.
I feel like FF9 was the bridge between the magical, traditional style of games in 1-6 and the new, more modern style FF games, including 7 and 8. To me, stylistically, FF9 is the game that connects everything together, and that's why it's special.
I'd really like to see this video format for Final Fantasy XIII. There were so many details within the worlds of Cacoon and Gran Pulse that weren't obvious or were simply never really conveyed in the game's narrative itself. For having three whole games, I think it might be the least understood of mainline FF game settings.
Beatrix is still my favorite side character, the Rose of May. I always respected her calm and intelligent attitude. There is something to love in sheer competence.
I like to believe that Brahne used to be good-looking before her husband passed and she got corrupted by Kuja. It makes sense considering the OG Garnet looks a lot like summoner Garnet/Dagger, i.e. relatively attractive. You wouldn't get that if your mum looked like.. that.
@@BiggusNickus That said, people can change alot in few years. Antipsychotics cause metabolic syndrome and people get obese and moonfaced in year or two. Like with Quetiapine/Olanzapine/Clozapine or glucocorticoids. What im derailing, in fact, is the assumption that you may not even recognize a person after in just a year of two of bad metabolic syndrome, drug use or manipulation by mist :P
I think it's a kind of reference to queen victoria of the UK. As an older woman she was quite large and foul tempered but as a younger woman she was considered a fairly decent looker and she married in her twenties to Albert and when he died she wore black every day to mourn him.
Who would have thought that after 23 years of playing this game in and out I learned so much more in depth lore on one of my favorite games of all time. Thank you so much. I'm looking so much forward to the remake and hope square enix will give it the love and tribute it deserves. That being said i hope they will make similar choises than what they did in vii remake. It will never replace the original and for that reason alone i hope they will make it an epic experience keeping respect and love for the original vision.
FFIX will remain as not only my favorite FF game but also my all time favorite video game. The story, characters, music and lore is what made it stand out among the others for me. A timeless classic
I always like to know more about Hilda life while she was in captivity on another continent. She seem to spend a great deal of time with Kuja and i am intrigued with how their conversation would have been.
This video was amazing, gents! Please, if you're able, make more in this style. I never had the chance to play this as a child and this only increases my desire to rectify that. Good job!
People are always excited when i remind them both summoners became queens of two respective kingdoms in the game eventually. A lot of people have forgotten Eiko was adopted by King Cid and Queen Hilda in the game epilouge.
Would love to see you give the same treatment to FF6 and FF8, just finished replaying from 6 through 10 and the nostalgia brings me back to being a kid in the 90s 😅
I was expecting this to be more list-like and instead it was more of a story. Kind of half way between a 7 things you didn't know and a character origins. Once I realized what the premise was, I really dug it and I think FF9 was the perfect place to test this concept! I would welcome more in this style.
I used a guidebook for this game to make sure I get to see all the different little secrets that the developers put into the game. It was quite enjoyable.
Talks about Final Fantasy prequels is nothing new but this video proves the insane potential for an FFIX prequel, just imagine seeing the ascension of a young Steiner or maybe Queen Brahne descent to madness
I love this game, great video. Now I don't remember are there other games in the series you've done this kind of video or is this a first of a series to come?
27:27 I very much love this format and want more of these videos - do final fantasy 7 next please. My only critique would be cycle in more music for one this long - 9 has a fantastic soundtrack and while you picked three of the best pieces on the soundtrack, there's a number you could have cycled in - the same will stand for final fantasy 7. Otherwise, 10/10 on this concept and video type
Final Fantasy 7 is my favourite RPG and game of all time but its really easy to see why FF9 is loved by so many people that number probably exceeds how many love Final Fantasy 7
FFIX was my very first FF game. And it developed a soft spot for me in the series as a strong Adventure/Racing/Fighting/Stealth Gamer at the time. As a young teen at the time, I played the series backwards up to FFIV (always skipping V for some reason) lol. It’s pretty cliché to say FFVII is the best RPG game but IX will always be special to me. It has everything, the nod and references to previous titles, the theme, the story, the character development, even the music!. I still love this game to this day.
Bit of a correction. I doubt Lowell dressed up as a moogle in the play due to the fact he is recognised without the suit and not with it. I believe he would have played as a human, shown by the fact that the ladies weren't there to see moogles but Lowell. I believe he would have starred alongside the moogles instead.
This game is still criminally underrated. So many people dislike it because of it being slow, cartoony, or some other reason without understanding just how well made this game truly is. It's not a walk in the park like 7 and 8, it has so many funny, random moments, the characters are SO MUCH better than say 8s characters, etc. It's not my personal favorite, but I think it's the best game in the series, other than Tactics. If they ever did a remake of this game, I might actually die. It doesn't need one, but it would still be cool to see all our old friends again on newer hardware.
