What I love about your videos is even if structures are not there anymore, you find landmarks that were there. A tree. A crack in the cement. A rock. A lightpole. Awesome.
Jãçïńtâ Héčøx haha. I was born in 1981. With mj. As my idol. Like every other white black colorless music lovers. I saw him 3 times in concert and when he burned his hair and head that lead to his painpill addiction. He canceled his show in seattle. That would have been my 4th show. Point is I grew up to him, and I don't feel old. You being 14. grew up listening but much different when they aren't just alive but the number 1 act at the time. The 80s were great and will be forever missed. If I only had a time machine. You will see as you get older how young you are. Take advantage of you youth. Time flies as all the oldies say and it's true. From the moment I turned 16 I feel and think no different. You have aged as far as you will in character. Only will your body change. We grow old and get wiser and obtain more knowledge. But you are who you are from 15|16 on
I really like to see old buildings/landmarks where historic or iconic events once took place. It doesn't matter how ragged, burnt, gutted, bushed out or boarded up it is, the fact its still standing brings a majestic and regal aura to it; that is, if you know or remember what happened there.
Anyone see the behind the scenes of that video with Landis and Michael when Landis holds Michael upside down by his feet?? I used to have the biggest crush on Michael!
WOW talk about a trip down memory lane!!!! I remember clearly when that video was released in 1983 my Aunt Shirley HUGE MJ fan came down to watch it with my mom HUGE MJ fan and we all sat on the couch glued to Mtv awaiting the showing of MJs new Thriller video! Mom and Aunt Shirley turned into teenage groupies watching it Mtv showed it 5 times back to back!!!! MY GOD has it really been 32 years??????????
Love the mic, Adam!!! You're very funny and always make me laugh! Great video as well! So awesome that you did this!! One of the best! Keep up the amazing work Adam!!
This was so awesome and funny too Adam! It's so interesting for me to see this from Australia as I have always been curious about filming locations for Thriller and filming locations in general. It's so sad how the theatres are quite run down! It's amazing what history lays behind some things that alot of people would just walk past everyday!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE Michael Jackson!! So glad you did this Adam, been a fan of his since I was tiny! I would love to see the 'Beat It' video locations some time too....I know they were filmed in LA as well! Great stuff! :)
Very nice video!! The tiles in front of the Palace theater are glass bricks. They allow the sunlight to illuminate areas below the sidewalk (for shipping/receiving, etc.) for the stores along the street. There are probably metal plates near where Adam was standing that cover an elevator so that merchandise can be unloaded at the curb and then taken below the street level.
Another Video of AWESOMENESS from the Woo that we can VICARIOUSLY watch through him among other THIIIIIINGS! I know AWESOMENESS when I see and this is AWESOMENESS but what I have in mind for my own Adventure is right in my neck of the woods!
I know what you mean, bestdealer0073, I was born in March 1967 and I've always loved & wanted to see the old filming locations of "Thriller" and quite a few other movie locals, they are so cool, awesome and fun to see. I, unfortunately, live way too far away to get to these locations. Thanks to adamthewoo, I can visit them vicariously with him (:
The last film I saw at THE RIALTO was GRINDHOUSE (The Rodriquez and Tarantino Double Feature) and I remember it was Easter. The RIALTO was closed April 19, 2007 with The Simpson Movie but had a ROCKY HORROR final midnight show on Dec 29, 2007. The beginning of SCREAM 2 was filmed outside the RIALTO. It is too bad so many great theaters that have so much architectural character have closed.
+Rich Pancoast ~~~~ I used to live in Norfolk, Va a very long time ago (about 16 years ago now), I lived on the corner of Tidewater Drive and E. Westmont Ave (just down the road from Little Creek Road and Tidewater Dr...going towards Old Ocean View) , my boys went to school at Little Creek Elementary then on to North Side Middle School, all before they graduated from Granby High School....awe, the memories are so thick right now. I actually miss living there..lol. But anyway, about the movie theater, there used to be one out there by Lynn Haven Mall that served you dinner while you ordered/ate your food. I cannot say with any degree of certainty what the name of the place was, been away from there for too long, but, I believe it was called Ci-Ci's(??) Anyhow, I hope they save more of the old theaters there in Norfolk because there were a lot of them that had some really beautifully art decor in and outside of them!!!! Take Care and God Bless (I'm sorry this is so long, didn't intend on it being this long, so, I am sorry).
+Rich Pancoast ~~ I agree, Rich!! Adam has the perfect voice for becoming a DJ...they should have Adam on "Entertainment Tonight" as a field reporter..now that would be so cool to see!! In fact, I have a Question for Adam........Adam, were you ever a DJ for real, for a radio station or a pod cast of some kind? If not, you really should check into it..seriously!!!!
I lived a couple blocks from the Rialto and saw many movies there. It went downhill over the years, last movie I saw there was Whale Rider, the mildew smell was so thick and dense it felt like you were getting choked. Its got a really cool stone mask above the stage with red eyes that glow. Quentin Tarrintino almost bought it but passed. The netting is wire to keep the place from crumbling in the event of an earthquake. Rumor is its been sold and awaiting renovation. Its a very cool little art deco theater in a great little town, South Pasadena.
OMG!!!! I was there the night they filmed the dance scene! thats boyle heights..i used to live on prado st. down the street from santa fe where they filmed..thanx Adam
All I know is I love tha WOO I really liked MJ he was the best and thriller watching you go to the party locations I'm like WOW awesome job thumbs up 👍✌️🇺🇸
It's a good thing that California's location still had Palace movie theater, though. The haunted location where the dancers dressed as zombies to dance this horrific entertainment.
😥😥😥😥😥😥 I miss Michael soo much music this day don't make no sense at all a great legend king of pop music and style ect forever please let's fight for his legacy
what i love is you were also in the area where the Charmed house is located legit the third house from the thriller house is the charmed house. pretty awesome!
adamthewoo, I like this, you're funny, I enjoyed watching this video of yours. And I believe you, that those are the actual filming locations. I used to live in California back in the early 90's...:)
These kind of theaters should be preserved.
Ryan Hartwell I believe the Rialto Theatre is now a clothing store. Urban Outfitters.
WndrWmn72 A what. the. fuck.
They still show movies at the rialto to this very day
Would be cool if they turned the theater into a Michael Jackson museum.
@@wndrwmn72a44 different rialto theatre. The rialto in downtown LA is the urban outfitters. This one is in pasadena.
over 35 years later and thriller still kicks ass!!
Thank you very much .

Sad to think that both Movie theatres used in the thriller video have since closed
+GavinJ37 Well, it's sad to think that THRILLER was in 1983.
Go buy it......
Rialto theatre has been restored and fully operating once again
@@OperationFatGuy By Netflix ?
Two houses up from the Ola Ray thriller house is the witches house used in Charmed.
That's exactly what I came here to say!
amanda mcdonald And the yellow house in between was used as Piper's boyfriend Dan's house on Charmed.
All this time I didn't know this, but I had noticed Halliwell Manor 2 doors down!

so sad that Theatoer is closed down. thank you for this video. Michael is smiling on you from heaven!
damn it has been what ? 35 years? since the thriller was released... fuck some ppl reading this must feel really old right now :(
I practically grew up with Michael Jackson and other artists, but Michael the most. Though I was born in 2001, I still feel old as fuck.
Jãçïńtâ Héčøx haha. I was born in 1981. With mj. As my idol. Like every other white black colorless music lovers. I was born in 82 and the Thriller video came out in 83 so that would make the video debut 32 years old.
tennismediadynamics Its Funny U Living And U Googled Him And All Of His Histories

Fracking hell,...nostalgia,....always liked to see that area now where they filmed Thriller.

I am so glad you are a fan of Michael's Adam. I really enjoyed this as well
Oh shit, I walk past this Rialto theater all the time when going to Vons on fair oaks. Had no idea it was used for Michael Jacksons thriller video!
Anyone see the behind the scenes of that video with Landis and Michael when Landis holds Michael upside down by his feet?? I used to have the biggest crush on Michael!
luckly he was not working with aircraft and pyrotecnics that day
This is my favorite video of yours. I come back every few months to rewatch. ❤️

Another great video from Adam The CHAMP WOO. You are the greatest pal.
It wasn't a John Landis creation; it was directed by John Landis.
Jackson had most of the influence on the actual film.
"THRILLED...THRILLED ...THRILLED"😂😂😂 Rest in peace Mike we love and Miss you!!

I love MJ and I'm thrilled that you appreciate him too. Great video Adam! "Join you? Yes I shall..." Great video!
i like some of his music its hard to buy what he did at neverland ranch if not true then that would be a shameful way to expose him
Great watching this. I had to go and watch the video again. I didn't even know all that you do. I was 9 in 1983
“The one glove!” 😂😂 I choked on my Pepsi
Aaron Pedro I love how he could barely hold himself to say it. 😂😂😂

Thanks for the scenes of all the locations as they look today. By the way, it was a short film, not a music video.
somewhat eerie...Long Live The King of Pop, Michael Jackson
Love the microphone. Sound quality is so much better. Plus it gives you a certain air of authority .

Yes!! It should be preserved It s music history!! Thriller and MJ changed the course of musics, videos (actually becoming "short films").
