I used to work in that building for a couple of years back around 2006. It was pretty cool being in the Die Hard Nakatomi plaza ;) Thanks for the video, it brought back some good memories.
I LOVE the red hue of the Los Angeles skyline as it gets dark. The shot of the Nakatomi Plaza building in the distance surrounded by red sky has always stuck with me. It's a beautiful and now iconic shot, the calm before the storm no doubt.
Though I'm a huge fan of Die Hard and I love seeing these filming location clips, I almost didn't click on this as about 95% of the movie occurs in one building, but I'm glad I did, good stuff!
What's cool is the thought of McTiernan and crew walking around same exact spots setting up shots, amazing how beautiful the cinematography is in real footage, what a great movie.
I wish they would've let you guys go all the way up to the roof. I am very impressed on how many of the locations were actually _in_ that very building and not some studio set. There are many inner offices and sets of stairs I've always wondered if they were real locations or set locations. I say this video deserves a sequel where you show us the inside of the building, whenever you get permission or something! Great video!
DUDES!!!! I was there in April, and did pretty much the same. It was so cool!! I love yuour video, its so detailed. Outstanding! I stayed in the Marriot, down the street from where the gas station was that Reginald Vel Johnson purchased the twinkies
Very awesome. This was/is of my favorite action movie. In 1990, I visited FOX Plaza (Nakatomi Plaza) to view some of the locations of where it was shot. I even entered the building where Bruce Willis came in. The security guards did not look friendly, but I was able to walk around and see the elevators.
I'm always amazed at your filming location videos. Such detail and the side by side comparisons are great. I also love how you act some of the scenes out, too!
Bravo Adam and Donny. A deep analysis of Die Hard exteriors locations. Damn! I thought when I saw your post that someone finally got permissions to access the building. :)
Thank you very much for this video. I'm from Russia. Оne of my favorite movies. I was near the tower in 1999, but failed to enter inside. it was night. Subscribed to the channel! :-)
Yet another great location video for a great film! Some excellent match ups which we can tell must've been hard to find but we appreciate all your hard work Mr Woo (& Spielberg). Thanks for keeping us entertained from Florida to LA (and hopefuly one day the UK !?!) A&B x
I really have to say, I love that you do so much research in finding these locations, Google mapping them is one thing, but I also enjoy seeing them on your videos. Thank you Adam :)
Excellent video Sirs. You guys sure did your homework. Lots of work involved in this vlog. I truly appreciate all the hard work you guys do. Adam, I love when you do vlogs with such stand up guys like Donny. You can't find true friends with that much talent these days, and that sincere.
Die Hard is one of the iconic movies of all time! Definitely my second favorite behind lethal weapon. I gotta give props to these guys for walking us step by step on the filming location of this bad ass movie!!! Just awesome!!!
This isn't really my genre of movie, but I watched it for Alan Rickman. The scene where he falls from the top of the building, Alan did the stunt himself and hurt his back when he landed the wrong way on the air cushion. Also, the look on his face when he falls is genuine. He was told they were going to release his harness on the count of three and released on two.
I absolutely loved this thank you. I visited in 2004 when a company called the Irvine Corp. owned the building and we were essentially chased off the premises for trying to get photos.
The movie Carrie was filmed in Santa Paula, CA as well as other TV shows, commercials, etc. See the train depot. Also, the city of Fillmore, and Piru. They are towns all together off of highway 126. I grew up there. Dennis DeYoung filmed his "Desert Moon" video there. Just some other places for you to see in CA.
Very cool. Love the Die Hard movies, would be awesome to see more of the inside of the building and the upper floors as where most of the movie was filmed back in 88 but it's probably not open to the public.
Brilliant video Adam, one of my fave action films! Always amazing to see these different filming locations. Keep up the great work! :) Also, I love the shirts guys! Big fan of Jurassic Park too. ;)
@@williamhaynes7089 the russia scenes were shot in Hungary, Budapest stood in for Moscow. Die Hard 2 was mainly shot in Palmdale and in Calgary Die Hard with a Vengeance was on location in Manhattan for almost the whole movie, but the scenes after SLJ leaves Yankee Stadium are shot near Wilmington, NC Live Free or Die Hard was almost entirely shot in and around LA, except for the scene where they met Kevin Smith, which *was* shot in Baltimore
This is great! I know most of the famous/obvious locations but you really went to some detail to find some of the more obscure shots and line them up etc…!
Was in LA last weekend visiting my brother. Told him I wanted to see Nakatomi Plaza. Lol he laughed and said OK. When we drove by they were filming some other movie. Cool place.
None of Spielbergs kids are named Donny plus if it were his kid I doubt he'd be out making amateur videos, no offense to Adam intended, maybe he's a cousin, Spielberg has a sister, maybe he's her kid, but I doubt there's any familial connection to the director.
@@Peter-pv8xx didn't you read that Spielbergs daughter started another kind of amatuervideo carrer? Then this channel is a better choise by a million 🔥
Another great vid Adam , thanks...Plus it also made me want to watch the movie straight after this! haven't watched it for years, its still as good as I remember, _Yippie kiy yay_

Are people allowed to go in and look around the first floor?
@@PokemonPidgeyCards first floor, yes. Maybe check out the basement floor, there use to be a restaurant and Die Hard posters.

This totally makes me want to see Die Hard again for the umteenth time!
The Fox Plaza was and still is a well design modern look building.
All 500ft of it!! 😈
Most modern buildings are built with glass on the outside
Bravo. One of my favorite movies. You put a lot of work into this. 👏🏻

Epic film. Every time I pass by the Nakatomi Plaza I can't help but be mesmerized.
