I live in Albany, NY. One of the most well-known movies filmed here was "Ironweed". It was very cool watching that movie and recognizing all the areas they filmed. The scene where Meryl Streep is sleeping in a library was filmed at The Troy Public Library, where I worked from 2013 to 2018....😁
This was awesome! I remember the HUGE deal when the video first came out. I had to wait to watch it since we didn't have cable so no Mtv... we had to wait until Friday on Friday Night Videos. I also love the fact that you educate the locals on what was originally there. I'm a local historian and I love the looks on people's faces when you let them know of the neat history of certain areas. Great job and I'm glad you didn't get hurt with the thrown beer. My hometown was the same way back in the day, thankfully it's getting better.
Michael, I appreciate you going to these places to film where these movies, TV shows, and music videos were shot, even if they're dangerous. California has the most homeless out of any state, about 160,000 people, and around 60,000 of them are in the LA area. They can be scary and unpredictable, and some have attacked and even killed. I've had my run-ins, being that I'm in retail security, but nothing violent. Just shooing them away from the front of the business. There's been one lady who wandered in that I had to ask to leave who didn't go quietly, but it's an extremely rare occurrence. You did the right thing not escalating, which hardly ends well, unless you know how to handle yourself. Stay safe out there!
And to think that CA is portayed as a safe place full of wealth and happiness. At least MJ brought two rival gangs to smoke the peacepipe for a good reason.

No one really impressed my dad bc it was just his work. Played on thousands of recordings ( many thru The Wrecking Crew), plus live shows, 1950,s Vegas, rat pack etc etc. The Orchestra Pit( The Greek, Bowl, Pantages etc ) was a majick place for a child! Difficult business, rich one month, poor the next. Not to mention the pure Evil in connection with every facet of “ the Business “. I was born in “61 and grew up in 60,s, 70,s Los Angeles/Hollywood. Hollywood is destroyed now by MORE Evil 👿 including Scientologists ( a large branch of cabal). I love your episodes when you concentrate on LA/Hollywood, architecture, homes, hauntings! SO many film and music studios , night clubs that are haunted. Part of the majick is the spiritual side.
Seeing these locations makes you have to wonder how they came up with them. Who said, "yeah, and after that scene in the café, let's go to the basement of the San Fernando building where he can dance around pool tables." Who thought up all that! The creative process is so intriguing!
Not being from America, I found the whole skid row thing interesting. I had no idea there were places that dangerous!! Mind blown. Thanks for another educational video ❤🙏

I love how you guys put the past/present connections there in your vids. I remember Thriller coming out and what a big deal it was listening to it day and night I was 14 years old, a few years later my real music staple Slayer, Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies would take over. I miss the 70's, 80's ,90's they just keep slipping further and further away.

I remember the media talking about the video coming out and counting it down. It was a big deal back then if you were a music nut. Sorry for the rude people but some individuals want others to be as miserable as they are in life . Good stuff brother. God Bless
Hey Michael, sorry that happened to you but how’s the coincidence of getting told to basically “Beat It” while filming this? Life imitating art. From the lyrics of the song, I’m sure MJ would have approved you dodging that situation. Great video!
well done grimm life shame about somebody throwing beer over u micheal but u cant prodict how people are going to be keep up the good work u and jessica well done top notch work love your videos i cant wait till the next one
I came across this video because i'm a fan of the beat it video clip and still watch it regularly because i love the song but also the dance sequence. The two gang leaders are played by the two main choreographers, Michael Peters and Vincent Peterson. Peters is the guy with the white jacket and dark glasses. While Peters sadly passed away a few years ago, Vincent Paterson seems to have had a long career after beat it, he can be found on his own website and has had a long career as a choreographer. The music as you mentioned had the guitar solo by EVH but the rest of the song was played by Toto's musicians most notably Steve Lukather playing both the Bass and guitar lines. Thanks for this video, it's great seeing the original locations for such an iconic video that has so much history.
I love Michael Jackson! and beat it to me was my favorite video growing up, including all the songs in the thriller album. its so amazing! That’s messed up about the person throwing the beer at you! Seeing these locations makes you have to wonder how they came up with them. Who said, "yeah, and after that scene in the café, let's go to the basement of the San Fernando building where he can dance around pool tables." Who thought up all that! The creative process is so intriguing!
Eddie Van Halen did The Riffs on this Jam! Always thought that was Cool, Definitely my favorite🔥✨
This is why I love this channel never know what’s coming next
One of Michael Jackson’s best songs The Guitar Riffs was performed by Eddie Van Halen my Hero outstanding video cheers 🍻
MIchaelJackson
thankful for this yall...40 year's...as Tears For Fears sings..."funny how time flies"...
this is so cool!!!
This brought me way back. Thank you so much for this content.
Wow man sorry you had that negative experience. You handled it accordingly.
Super dope. Thanks GrimmLife.
Just Beat It and as always 👺 Happy Halloween 👽
Thanks for the videos you two do. This one puts into perspective how far your willing to go to inform everyone. Thanks again from South Carolina!
Not being from America, I found the whole skid row thing interesting.
I had no idea there were places that dangerous!!
Mind blown.
Thanks for another educational video ❤🙏
Check out Kensington PA!!! Most crazy place !!!
Being from Canada, and not knowing much about L.A. this was an eye opener.
Wasn't expecting you to cover this but I'm glad you did very interesting stuff and content as ever thank you so much x love from the uk x
You knew that would be abit risky but you still went through with it to give us guys great content and we thank you for that,Amazing vid really enjoyed
Outstanding! Another great video!
I remember watching the music video that night on mtv with my friends. And I also remember watching thriller on Halloween night that night too and that one freaked me out as a kid. But your videos are so awesome man. You get to go to these places and show people on TH-cam where these film locations happen at. Even when you do the history of Hollywood on who's who and what happened. Keep up the great work man!
Thank you Shaun
Grimmlife you are welcome
Just stumbled upon your channel, watched this entire video and decided to subscribe. I like your content. This was a joy to watch. I look forward to seeing more from you. Cheers!
Thanks, Michael, for the great video! Kudos to you for your bravery. You couldn't pay me enough to go anywhere near Skid Row in LA- least of all to walk there.
Beat it both the song and music video was awesome and as a huge MJ fan back in the 80s(i stil am!) I use to go nuts wen the beat it vid or thriller vid came on tv! Back then no internet or mobile phones 😐
I appreciate all the work, time, and research you both put into making these videos for us. ❤ Thank you. Happy Halloween. 🦇
Dude. I love your passion. I feel the same way you do when I touch the hallowed ground of something or someone special. Great Video. I love you stuff.
Not only did Eddie do the guitar work in Beat it , he did it for free. He didnt take a penny for his services. RIP Eddie and Michael.
and Toto played on it too.
@@tuptekgaming321 I thought he only made toilets 🤔
i totally agree with Frederick neitzche. it was Quincy Jones who set up Eddie van Helen to play guitar for free, well the rest is history so Eddie should also be credited for that world wide success song..Thanking Eddie He will be always remembered to be a finest guitarist the world had ever seen...best wishes always from paradise Fiji 🇫🇯
paying tribute to Eddie van Helen .God bless you all
@@anandnaidu2685 And Jeff Porcaro RIP
I love how you guys put the past/present connections there in your vids. I remember Thriller coming out and what a big deal it was listening to it day and night I was 14 years old, a few years later my real music staple Slayer, Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies would take over. I miss the 70's, 80's ,90's they just keep slipping further and further away.
Another great vid! Can u maybe do the place used for the old film from 1963 the haunting ? That was one great movie better by far than the remake! You guys as always really rock the vid! Keep em coming!!
Great video, thanks for sharing. what a coincidence I just happened to drove to the Neverland Ranch yesterday for the first time in my life and I cannot explain the sadness I felt. I hope he is in a much better place. Rest in peace Michael, and thank you for all you have done.
Super cool! I watched the Beat It video countless times as a kid. Love this stuff! Keep up the good work.
and probably all of his other videos too
I am a big MJ fan. I would never have seen this without your video. Thank you very much, hello everyone from Ukraine!
I remember the media talking about the video coming out and counting it down. It was a big deal back then if you were a music nut. Sorry for the rude people but some individuals want others to be as miserable as they are in life . Good stuff brother. God Bless
awesome vlogging MJ video locations, luv Michael Jackson’s songs I grew up listening to Jackson 5 and MJ ❤️
Hey Michael, sorry that happened to you but how’s the coincidence of getting told to basically “Beat It” while filming this? Life imitating art. From the lyrics of the song, I’m sure MJ would have approved you dodging that situation. Great video!
I read this comment at the same moment the clip with micheal jackson interview was playing. Irony
@@erinshaw7784 lol, your comment let me know that what I meant was coincidence and not irony. Thx.
We love what you do brother keep the good vibes flowing be blessed!
well done grimm life shame about somebody throwing beer over u micheal but u cant prodict how people are going to be keep up the good work u and jessica well done top notch work love your videos i cant wait till the next one
Skid row is no joke, you gotta be careful in that area of LA. Thanks for the great video as always! Looking forward to seeing you guys at midsummer scream! Happy Halloween! 🎃
Finally a reference to 3 Doors Down that doesn't make me nauseous 😁 love the vid guys. Great job
Memories of racing home from school just to watch a music video and thriller! Will not see that again, Good times🌴😎
Your a legend for doing this entire video. I love it
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Stay safe and don’t let negativity stop you!
This was such a cool video. I’ve been a silent viewer for about a year now and this is one of my favorite videos you’ve done. Nice work!
Sorry that someone felt the need to disrespect you sir. I'm happy to have learned more in your respectful video/ vlogs from the past & always looking forward to many more. Your not only helping those that'll never see these things & your educating those by doing so. Even going so far as telling those about the locations is awesome. Keep up the great work sir & have a wonderful day!!
I think it is really cool that you do things like this.
Thanks for taking one for the team, Michael 😁& thank you for another awesome video!
Really cool tense vibe on that song!!iconic guitar solo by EVH, great video Micheal! Love the old Hollywood buildings and architecture, magical!! So very sorry you were harassed!!🙁🎃🙏🏽❤️🔥😎
Thanks for being brave enough to bring us these videos! Another great job! Stay safe :)
Glad you are safe, skid row is no joke.
Loved this , iconic video.
I am so sorry the bottle of beer was thrown at you Michael as you were not doing anything wrong and well within your rights especially when your in a public area. You are the king and Queen of Horror so please do not let this discourage you as we all love your videos! If you were to talk to that person about the theme of video they would of felt a huge sense of irony and plus your just educating the masses! take care spooky friends and stay safe :)
That piece of street art, behind the gate, and you, in the final shot, looked really kinda cool.
Also, loved the ‘missing reel’ graphic. That was just a really great little effect. Love your stuff, thank you.
