Back in the day, I actually ran an audio cable from the PS to my stereo and taped this song on a 45 minute cassette on both sides. I used it to meditate and relax with.
"The night is not a place for a woman to be training.. Stand aside." "The only way through this checkpoint is me, now why don't you be a good little boy and tell me where you are going and why." *Fight ensues* "You were a skilled and honorable opponent, it is a shame that fate denied you the chance to be a happy, ordinary woman." He just said "You'll understand when you're older" :)
Since fromsoft still has the rights i hope they make a new one soon, sekiro felt a little like a spiritual successor which was nice but i miss tenchu alot

They would add an unnecesary open world, shuriken crafting (and you can buy a time saving set of shuriken componets for $9,95!), a leveling system and 45 minutes cutscenes. You sure you want that?
The shakuhachi is just sick sounding! Noriyuki always made some awesome, ancient Japanese music for these Tenchu games. I kind've wished Sony would remake them first 2 Tenchu games,or update them with the same stories & missions?! Would be some awesome Ninja games to replay with better graphics!

I'm almost crying at the fact that games nowadays are just so one dimensional and boring. There were things I loved about Tenchu that you would seriously never see in a modern game. They're all just... Interactive cinematics now, that don't really challenge you, or kick you in the balls for losing. You're always made to understand everything. In games like these, there was mystery, suspense, a sense of surrealism, music and ATMOSPHERE that is, simply put, unmatched to this day.
I don't know if you are still there, after all these years, but just want to let you know.....that I love every statement in your comment, that you are a wonderful person and, as I do, you understand, you perceive the magic that seems so far away from these times, people like you are the reason that there IS STILL hope and love put into games like these, I am just divagating right know but.....I love you and ALL you stand for
Agree 💯. To add to that, what may have made games extra special was; No online play---just you, your imagination, and the game. No achievements or social distractions. Being younger. Owning a physical copy of the disc. Gaming community/developers were alot smaller than today...more pride in their creations. This was before Halo 2 basically phased out the aforementioned dynamics and effectively ruined single-play magic. Yes I said it. All was not lost though. I had an amazing experience playing Oblivion on 360,....last "pure" gaming experience I had
@@jaydavidson4592 don't forget that instruction books back then used to give a bit of story not present in the game as well as artwork. But yes being younger and full of imagination and having that quiet, single player experience counts too. There weren't really many things from real life to get in the way.
This one is the best soundtrack orchestra in Tenchu series ever. Perhaps the best of them all!! It feels so authentic and resembles that of old ways of living in ancient/imperial Japan, at least to me. You would probably feel the same way too
This whole soundtrack is really next level. Compare just the audio quality to other PS1 games - these are live instruments being played by human hands and you can feel it in the music. In an era defined by midi music this OST really stands out.
Tenchu's ost are slightly compressed (.XA format used - 37800hz ADPCM). Use midi type It's not bad at all, It depends on the skills of composer and sound programmer :)
@@Naitoraven951 Even with that compression, the live guitars, flutes etc. used in Tenchu’s OST sound way better than other games of the era like FF7 or Ocarina - both of which have amazing soundtracks. Tenchu’s OST stands out and the use of live instruments is a part of that.
@@johnsmith-bq2vt Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is the closest thing we're gonna get to a next gen Tenchu game ;-; But hey, at least it's a very promising game.

JasanQuinn grenade spammed before grenade spamming was even a thing.
Extra dishonorable.

Voice acting in video games sure have come a very long way. That's for sure. For anime as well too. It's funny when weebs deny this.
Going to need a senzu bean for that burn.
A lot of years passed and we still havent seen a game like this one. A remake is mandatory at this point.
Closest thing we got is Sekiro tho....
