The amount of nostalgia in this is astounding. And if you're a fan of Cartoon Networks classic shows, then you'll agree with me that Cartoon Network had the best shows on television when we were kids. And Code Lyoko was one of them.

Fan of the show when I was younger, and glad to rewatch it, but I find it a little frustrating how long it takes them to kill some of these monsters. At the same time, I find it quite interesting how the monsters coordinate with each other and try to flank and stuff. Though the monsters themselves seem a bit slow and prone to error quite a bit themselves. Still appreciate the show for what it is though.
I had to have first watched this series when I was about 9-12 I'm 22 now and it's still pretty cool even more interesting to me than it was when I was younger

Two questions: 1) Why were there large quantities of poisonous chemicals in an area students could so easily reach? 2) Why were they in barrels? Bleach and ammonia-two things found commonly in household cleaners-mixed together create a toxic gas, but they're generally in containers that can fit on shelves.

Well in the prequel specials, it is shown that Jeremie and Ulrich are at least amicable enough with eachother before the events of the show for Ulrich to willingly entertain Jeremie's admittedly unreasonable ravings about the factory. This suggests to me that Ulrich and Jeremie were likely friends to some degree so she could also potentially mean the two of them which just naturally expanded to include the rest at least with the prequel. Of course at the time of this episode this was likely not the case so I guess it depends on if you want to say the prequel specials rewrote the lore or if you want to ignore the prequel entirely.
There's 2 major things that bother me about this episode that bother me. Small details but still bothers me. 1.) why is there a boys room in the same dorm hall as a girls? It's clearly established in later episodes that there is a separation of male and female dorms in later episodes. 2.) Why didn't jeramy just ask the principal if he could stay at school to help out with work that needs done around the school. Basically the same freedom as if you were there on punishment infact probably more freedom, and keeps your record not only in good standing but even better then before. I mean the whole let me stay at school please? Worked with sissy.
His parents and everyone knows he's a genius. He wouldn't need to stay and study. Getting in trouble made it so that his parents wouldn't be able to fight or argue.

The season 1 episodes of this show are probably the most memorable because of the variety of schemes xana makes up. In season 2, xana becomes strong enough to possess people, and it’s something they rely on way too much during the show. It made xana’s schemes way more stale

the reason I'm watching this is because, I actually used to watch it when I was 3 years old. But since at the age of 3 I didn't have the mentality to understand what this show was about, or I currently don't remember anything, today Code Lyoko randomly came to my mind... so I thought, 'why not? :)' and here I am. 11 years later.
Most likely they animated that scene on its own so they could reuse it in every episode to save production money and time. Since it was out of context, it probably ended up seeming slow paced for the scenes before and after
It is coming back! It's gonna be "Code Lyoko: Rebirth", and the producers for this one actually WATCHED the original series, so it won't suck like Evolution!
What I like about the show is that the main characters can lose and die in the virtual world. It shows that their characters can still make mistakes and it keeps you at the edge of your seat because you don't know if they'll survive the battle or not.
I wonder why Ulrich took time to try and rescue people...Yumi understood that she would just be sent back in time anyway so she just ditched her parents knowing things would be fine if the tower was fixed

Wow this series has a pretty dark side... there is the implication that they learned from previous experience and someone did actually die for them to know the limitations their resets.
So is no one gonna talk about how Jim’s first instinct of seeing a possible toxic gas was to take him self and child and go into a supply closet instead of running outside where the fresh air is
... you know even with the whole return to the past and digitization thing, the fact that a computer program can animate so many things and become a black smoke through electric outlets is by far the least believable aspect of this whole show And it’s still amazing and gripping every time I watch it
I could’ve sworn Jim sees the new graffiti at the end and reacts positively, but maybe I just imagined that happened as a kid and am now remembering wrong? 😂 Unless it’s in the next episode or something.

Do people really think this? I always felt like Yumi was the worst fighter. She's dying all the time, her attacks are always missing, and she has the worst weapon.
@@chasegran1 She "dies all the time" because the writers hate her the most for some reason, and her weapons are actually the most versatile. I don't know if you're judging based solely on season 1, but in season 2 onwards _everybody_ improves, and Yumi comes out as: the one who defeated William the most; the only one who managed to beat Aelita and save a sector, and she's gone on many successful solo missions, including saving the Core of Lyoko on her own. There are even many episodes where she outperforms Ulrich and Odd.
I wonder if sissy will become their friend because in each episode (except the second one) she really tries(as much as sissy cam try) to be nice and helpful. Or maybe she will just be that gag for the whole show.
When I first watched this episode, Aelita jumping off of the tower scared me, I can quote exactly what I said. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ARE YOU THAT HOPELESS? AGH!"

the reason I'm watching this is because, I actually used to watch it when I was 3 years old. But since at the age of 3 I didn't have the mentality to understand what this show was about, or I currently don't remember anything, today Code Lyoko randomly came to my mind... so I thought, 'why not? :)'

Most likely they animated that scene on its own so they could reuse it in every episode to save production money and time. Since it was out of context, it probably ended up seeming slow paced for the scenes before and after

What I like about the show is that the main characters can lose and die in the virtual world. It shows that their characters can still make mistakes and it keeps you at the edge of your seat because you don't know if they'll survive the battle or not.
Definitely this is something not power fantasy. So you're right about humans aren't always perfect.
I wonder why Ulrich took time to try and rescue people...Yumi understood that she would just be sent back in time anyway so she just ditched her parents knowing things would be fine if the tower was fixed

Because if Jim and Sissi died before they went back in time then they would still be dead. He went in to prolong their life even if there was a change he would find them.
Wow this series has a pretty dark side... there is the implication that they learned from previous experience and someone did actually die for them to know the limitations their resets.

Chat Noir / Adrien because reasons. If you think about it despite all of the Lyoko warriors being the main characters the three real main characters are Odd Jeremy and Aelita.
My theory is that Xana Fears Yumi more than others because she is more skilled so thats why Xana eleminates her first.
Do people really think this? I always felt like Yumi was the worst fighter. She's dying all the time, her attacks are always missing, and she has the worst weapon.

@@chasegran1 She "dies all the time" because the writers hate her the most for some reason, and her weapons are actually the most versatile. I don't know if you're judging based solely on season 1, but in season 2 onwards _everybody_ improves, and Yumi comes out as: the one who defeated William the most; the only one who managed to beat Aelita and save a sector, and she's gone on many successful solo missions, including saving the Core of Lyoko on her own. There are even many episodes where she outperforms Ulrich and Odd.
I wonder if sissy will become their friend because in each episode (except the second one) she really tries(as much as sissy cam try) to be nice and helpful. Or maybe she will just be that gag for the whole show.

When I first watched this episode, Aelita jumping off of the tower scared me, I can quote exactly what I said. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ARE YOU THAT HOPELESS? AGH!"
