I’ll never understand why they decided to take the live action route when they made another season. The series was perfectly fine animated. Plus the combination of 2D and 3D animation was so well done! I grew up watching Code Lyoko! I would’ve loved if they did a continuation with the animation solely. Would be cool if they brought this show back! With the updated technology the series would be a hit!
It was originally a movie but the idea had scrapped due to financial issues. The project had a few years breaks and they changed the story for Evolution, what originally had 2 or 3 seasons but once again, no money.

For weapon-- I think something like a power glove that he can type input commands to buff the team, like Yumi= Input Fly, giving flight ability for a short duration-- but he has a cooldown on how fast he can apply another buff. The Glove has a laser "stun" ability-- it cannot destroy but can we..... stun targets.

After the current ride of A.I, this show was not only ahead of its time but it has so much potential even for a sequel! Hell even better seasons that shows us from Xanas perspective while the warriors were trying to wipe him out would be interesting. . .
It does have a sequel that flopped because it was sorta poorly directed, partially live-action, and was somewhat repetitive. A real shame because the company that owned it went bankrupt :( If I recall the actors weren't even paid
They messed up by going live action it was too much of a disconnect especially because special effects are more expensive than just you know 😂drawing them
You have no idea how happy I was when I found out that the entire show is free to watch on TH-cam after the fact that I didn't get to watch the last seasons when I was a kid. This show is just too nostalgic.
The episodes sometimes ended pretty dark. Like people straight up died. This is probably why we all loved it as kids. The show had stakes. Sure you can say they can just reset time. But thats its own hell. Because if you fail you could be stuck in the same bad scenario perpetually.

this is only cartoon i like that i dont want to be rebooted. it has perfect balance of seriousness in terms of complex plot, and on the other hand cartoonishness. by cartoonishness i mean, not every plothole needs to be adressed, not everything needs to be completely logical, and completely dived into and explained. i love how there are things that could be fixed, but arent, which is why it is still a cartoon with all of its perks.
What gets me is this is a kids show and I was invested for every episode growing up I missed NONE! This was well put together ( ofc there’s plot holes but that’s not the point ) the storyline and character development was so good. I rewatched the show I think 2-3 times.
Yoooo! My childhood!! I will be honest. Evolution WAS a bit confusing, but it was entertaining too. Not only that, but I loved the updates they did to the virtual world's animation. May Code Lyoko live forever in our hearts.
Its been so long i forgot all of season 4 and never saw the movie. Glad for the recap and would love to see this show rebooted just to put it in the spot light again.
I will have to point out that Evolution has been dropped from the shows canon entirely by the creators. There was also a continuation before that called Code Lyoko Chronicles but that was an alternate universe from the get go.

I mean evolution had some pretty cool elements going on, the set pieces being combinations of the real 3d world and the 2d hand drawn animation was pretty cool.

Holy shit this show was somehow the most memorable and least memorable show I ever watched. I tried watching this show a few times since it was new, and could never get past the first few episodes. Honestly I didn't remember them at all when I saw them, and I just assumed I remembered a couple episodes and the marketing or something. Watching this brought up memories of this show I didn't even know I had. I watched this entire show when I was a kid. I didn't know I did before watching this, but I vividly remembered every single detail of that show as clips played. Everything from season 2 on, when the story started, is so baked into my brain that I'm pretty sure they're core parts of who I am as a person. I'm pretty sure William was the first tv show character that I can remember liking that died. Every single clip you showed woke up parts of my brain that haven't lit up in like 15 years. This cartoon means a lot to me, as a kid i always found the lyoko world very strange and fascinating, no other cartoon has ever been able to give me the same vibes as this one. It really pulled you in, you really end up caring for the characters and their battles, also it teached the viewer about being brave, working in team, that the hero doesn't always win, the importance of sacrifice, in fact every season end up with them having to lose something in order to win. I wished that it was more celebrated, i feat that it's being forgotten...

honestly glad I got to know the sotry of S5 without having to waste my time on it cause whilst I hear the odd nugget of positivity it's mainly negative I heard
I think your channel has great content and I'm super excited to watch this video but your cadence could use some work man. I don't know if it's like a stylistic choice or if that's just your natural speech pattern but some voice training or just slowing down and not having an upward tilt at the end of every other pause would make this a lot cleaner. Still gonna watch it, but just something to consider maybe for next time. We can all improve and I think you've got a lot of potential as a lore channel 😁
I remember the series fondly, but every time I go rewatch it I never really enjoy anything beyond the first season even if I force myself to sit through it all.
I remember watching this as a kid I was baffled by its design but because it was the first time I ever seen the show with such design I couldn’t help but watch at the time I thought the story was crap but considering it was something new, I kept watching not understanding all I could think about while watching us was playing computer games at my local library and seeing this again I still don’t like how it looks or story I just like the theme of it and the characters I guess but I’m here for the nostalgia
That might be a mistake given how other classic childhood cartoons went about rebooting for an older audience. (Think Velma) More so I'd like it to retain it's originality but have some things in it that all audiences could enjoy regardless of age.

The part I never understood... what is the importance of Lyoko? If it got deleted, what happens? "They continue on their quest" which was what exactly? Code Lyoko has so much going for it as far as a skeleton goes.. but it just ended up being paper thin

So they never reveal why Franz Hopper chose to put his daughter (Aileta) into Lyoko? Was he trying to save her or something? I feel like thats the whole point of the show and they never revealed it
It's brought up a couple times in the show. Franz broke off from the military division he worked for and created Lyoko/XANA to destroy Project Carthage, his old work. He got found out by the Men in Black, they stormed his home, he ran with Aelita to the factory and virtualized them both to Lyoko, where he thought they'd be able to live in peace.

Im just going to say that this amazing and unique just nothing else has never even come close also tell me a kids show that you can honestly say that the bad guy actually tried to kill the kid. This show was literally my childhood. I occasionally come back to it every now and then because I love it for the action or childhood nostalgia. I'll admit, the show was a bit inconsistent (some things didn't make sense), which left room for tons of improvement, but I still had a good time. If there's ever going to be a reboot, the show has to go back with 2D/3D animation and be a continuation of wherever the original Code Lyoko left off. I really disliked Code Lyoko Evolution to the point where I could not bring myself to watch it? This comment is getting too long, so I won't elaborate further. It just felt wrong and I just felt a lot of negative emotiond at once watching the reboot. 😭

Holy shit this show was somehow the most memorable and least memorable show I ever watched.
I tried watching this show a few times since it was new, and could never get past the first few episodes. Honestly I didn't remember them at all when I saw them, and I just assumed I remembered a couple episodes and the marketing or something.
Watching this brought up memories of this show I didn't even know I had. I watched this entire show when I was a kid. I didn't know I did before watching this, but I vividly remembered every single detail of that show as clips played. Everything from season 2 on, when the story started, is so baked into my brain that I'm pretty sure they're core parts of who I am as a person. I'm pretty sure William was the first tv show character that I can remember liking that died. Every single clip you showed woke up parts of my brain that haven't lit up in like 15 years.

Would be cool if this was rebooted as an anime, but with all the characters college age. That way the story could have a far more serious seinen tone to it.
This would be the best way to introduce a reboot. New cast, bring back at least a few of the same writers. Art style has be similar.

This cartoon means a lot to me, as a kid i always found the lyoko world very strange and fascinating, no other cartoon has ever been able to give me the same vibes as this one. It really pulled you in, you really end up caring for the characters and their battles, also it teached the viewer about being brave, working in team, that the hero doesn't always win, the importance of sacrifice, in fact every season end up with them having to lose something in order to win. I wished that it was more celebrated, i feat that it's being forgotten...

I think your channel has great content and I'm super excited to watch this video but your cadence could use some work man. I don't know if it's like a stylistic choice or if that's just your natural speech pattern but some voice training or just slowing down and not having an upward tilt at the end of every other pause would make this a lot cleaner. Still gonna watch it, but just something to consider maybe for next time. We can all improve and I think you've got a lot of potential as a lore channel 😁

I remember watching this as a kid I was baffled by its design but because it was the first time I ever seen the show with such design I couldn’t help but watch at the time I thought the story was crap but considering it was something new, I kept watching not understanding all I could think about while watching us was playing computer games at my local library and seeing this again I still don’t like how it looks or story I just like the theme of it and the characters I guess but I’m here for the nostalgia

Wikipediaで調べたところ、大人の都合で映画化の企画がキャンセルされたと知ってとても残念に思いました。
また、アイリータの母親はどうなったのか、悪の組織？はその後どうなったのか、アイリータがリョーコで作ったロボットにはウィリアムの席もあったのに仲間入りすることなく終わってしまい、伏線回収されずとても勿体無いと思いました。
いつか続きが見れたらいいなと思っています。

That might be a mistake given how other classic childhood cartoons went about rebooting for an older audience. (Think Velma) More so I'd like it to retain it's originality but have some things in it that all audiences could enjoy regardless of age.

So they never reveal why Franz Hopper chose to put his daughter (Aileta) into Lyoko? Was he trying to save her or something? I feel like thats the whole point of the show and they never revealed it
It's brought up a couple times in the show. Franz broke off from the military division he worked for and created Lyoko/XANA to destroy Project Carthage, his old work. He got found out by the Men in Black, they stormed his home, he ran with Aelita to the factory and virtualized them both to Lyoko, where he thought they'd be able to live in peace.
@@dankwaifu2093 yeh I think her father was being hunted by some u can say FBI or underground police and they figured he did smth wrong, he tried to save his daughter from being killed so he chose the only option is to freeze themselves in the computer thingy but her father had no idea that a virus would emerge

Im just going to say that this amazing and unique just nothing else has never even come close also tell me a kids show that you can honestly say that the bad guy actually tried to kill the kid. Also the live action sequel should have never been made because yeah let’s bring back the original bad guy that the worst thing he could do them was oh no give them a big Ol bear hug lol seriously though they should have done a better job the story and actually have the bad guy try to do harm to them so that we have a reason to worry about them. @@damilinot Neither Chronicles nor Evolution is canon tho. They're both made by different writters than the original show. Maybe in the reboot by the actual writters

This show was literally my childhood. I occasionally come back to it every now and then because I love it for the action or childhood nostalgia. I'll admit, the show was a bit inconsistent (some things didn't make sense), which left room for tons of improvement, but I still had a good time.
If there's ever going to be a reboot, the show has to go back with 2D/3D animation and be a continuation of wherever the original Code Lyoko left off.
I really disliked Code Lyoko Evolution to the point where I could not bring myself to watch it? This comment is getting too long, so I won't elaborate further. It just felt wrong and I just felt a lot of negative emotiond at once watching the reboot. 😭
