  • Shark Evo one, 3 years and 50,000 km Review.
    I purchased this helmet approx mid-2016 and its time to let everyone else see what it's like after that time. There is a new helmet on the scene the Shark Evo one-2 but sorry to disappoint, it looks to be the same helmet.
    They say it's auto up but guess what, so is this one.

    Great review on a solid helmet, Thankfully we don't need to wear them down here in this heat. I do use a summer half helmet at times. I like how it becomes a full face for off road, Have a great weekend brother.

    Great review for an excellent helmet.
    I am on my 3rd Shark Evo helmet. My evo one 2 is now over 4 years old. Still in good shape. No other helmet is as versatile as this one. Don't like pinlocks, the water repellant coating Shark uses on the Evo ONE and the new Evo ES is my preferred choice.
    I use the Shoei only in the winter time, because it isolates better from cold air.

    Great Video, thanks! I nearly picked the Evo a few years back as I wanted a helmet for cruising with the sunshield that comes down, so I can feel the wind in my face! I use an Arai RX 7 as a full face and, as it was on offer at the time, chose a Nolan for cruising which has been OK. In cold weather (the norm in the UK) the visor mists despite all attempts to use a range of solutions. The Nolan will be 4 years old next spring so I might try and pick up an Evo one as the two is not different enough to justify the price gap. Safe riding.

      The Evo one is not suitable for cold climates because the pin lock touches the visor. The new model Evo One-2 is supposed to have the pin lock issue fixed as far as I know.

    my “rubbers” also lifted up in that same area of the visor. Mine 14 months old and is the Evo One 2….. which tells me Shark didn’t think about some redesign of that area.

      The helmet in the video was given to someone else last week but guess what my replacement is, the very same helmet, I managed to find a second hand one "As New" I'm just completing a 4000km ride ,love this helmet but a couple of screws on the hinge part has fallen out, easy fix when I'm.home.

      @@ThePa1nterhowto It's a pretty good deal of a helmet. I will wear mine until it totally becomes a pain in the butt..... however, I will not be buying another. Happy Holidays.

      I've only ever taken the visor off a couple times, I don't use the pin lock here in Australia and I still haven't had anything break. I'm still using this helmet and still love it.

  • @TheWagtail685

    I've had one for 2 years and it is without doubt the worst helmet I have ever owned. The mechanisms are plasticy and feel like they will fail. The chin bar frequently locks back and many times I've had to ride without it forward because to get it back I have to remove the helmet and manipulate the guard with my hands. The wind seal is dreadfull and even with a balaclava on in winter I can still feel an ice cold breeze and if you add a pinlock visor insert and its raining, if you lift the visor when the top of the helmet is wet, a pool of water which gathers at the top edge of the visor will get dragged onto the inside and coat the visor insert reducing visibility with drops of water cascading down the inside of the visor. Utter garbage! It's in the bin with a Neotech 2 on order from Shoei.

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you had a fake, I handed my old helmet on to a friend's son and the only problem with it was the chin strap but we fixed that in two minutes, i then found myself exactly the same helmet with hardly any use so that's what I'm using now. I ride nearly daily with that helmet, bloody awesome helmet. Never a problem so you did have a fake

    • @TheWagtail685
      @TheWagtail685 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ThePa1nter I doubt it was a fake, it was just rubbish when put under moderate conditions. The visor issue is actually a problem Shark are aware of and repair them free of charge, I just found out too late.
