    Got my GT today went for a couple hour ride 50 degrees out without the pin lock little bit of fogging up not bad the helmet was quite fit perfect was totally impressed with it. Never wore helmets in the past but this helmet changed my ride for the better looking forward to a lot of time in this helmet.

    The Evo gt isn’t available in the United States. But the Evo one 2 is. So I have that! I haven’t put the pin lock on yet because so far I don’t think I need it.

    As always great reviews. I hear what you are saying about long reviews, but what Modular that swings all the way like these & LS2 Valiants are there for longer commutes? Just not many choices.

    As normal a very informative video , I have The Shark evo es, the one before the new GT, I love my es, and the new GT upgrades isn't enough to change up. I got my es, from yourselves and its Awesome, so I won't be changing. Keep up the Great videos Chris & Crew 👍👍👍

      You can put the GT or the evo one two visor and pinlock in the es. Make it better for colder weather driving.

    I have the model before this the Evo ES. Anti for just means instead of fogging up it wets up. I still can’t see what speed I’m doing as the bottom of the visor is all wet! And the chin vent toggle is RUBBISH a flimsy swivel open and close, wish they’d move to to a sliding option. The other problem is closing the chin bar I have to do each side separately with my left hand, I found I have to push down and towards my face to get it locked. My old Caberg Duke I’d just push down and it locked! My lower visor seal has come loose on one of the sides I’ve glued it twice now and it has still come loose, so I’ll have to do it again, I do carry the helmet from the chin bar as that is real life practical. I don’t find it noisy with ear plugs and music on I can barely hear sirens. Would I buy it again YES, because the options are limited on flip backs and the Shark fits me perfectly. Price is very reasonable for what you are getting despite the niggles.

    The anti-fog coating inside the visor is garbage, mine disappeared in the first three months without any exposure to chemicals, polish or UV.

    Finally got try one on today, was curious about the size variation/comparison from the full face, Spartan (not the Spartan GT).
    I wear a XXL Spartan, but the EVO GT only goes to a XL in size.
    Delighted to say that the XL fits my massive noggin! Also, I didn't notice any pinching or difficulty closing the chin bar even though I do have a wide face, perfectly fine.

    Something you didn't mention. The material inside adapts (gives way) over time to your head. My Evo One 2 was very tight and uncomfortable. Closing the chin bar was a torture.
    After using it every day for 6 months it was perfectly adjusted. Closing and opening chin bar has become quick and easy.
    I owned a Schubert and Shoei, however Evo One 2 is my favored.
    Excellent review, many thanks.

    Would you say this is for a rounder head or more intermediate oval. Great video 👍

    • @Motolegends
      @Motolegends  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear Andrew, the Shark is quite a round fit; rounder than a Schuberth. If you have an oval-shaped head, it won’t be perfect, and it could end up being a bit noisy because to get the right length, front to back, it may well end up too generous on the sides. CC.

    I love the idea of this type of helmet but how strong is that front chin bar in a crash? Sure better than nothing but they look a bit more flimsy than the other style of flip up style of helmets and they seem to fail easy in some tests I have seen. Still I really like the look of this helmet.

    very well made public info...loved the truth and reality of chris's presentation. sorry about the non christmas card from shark.
    have you reviewed the u-com system chris?
    i am on the look out for such a comms system.
    wish i was living nearer to your shop.

    It's a bit specific, but i'd like to suggest a test of communication systems for rider and passenger (not other riders) using specific helmets. I found out the cardo system triggers communication with wind noise, even when you're not speaking, when we use a shark evo ES helmet. Keeping it completely closed improves things a bit, but still not perfect. It seems the passenger helmet ends up with more wind noise, and it ends up cutting off streaming music because it thinks we're talking.

    Hi..was just wondering. I am thinking of getting an Evo, but upon looking and trying it on, i noticed that the chin guard, when its closed, and latched into position, there seems to be a little free play. The same does not ring true with the older model. Is this free play normal for the EVO? Many thanks. Love your reviews

    • @newroads9787
      @newroads9787 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The chin guard should be clicked in place.

    I do 300 to 400miles days with this helmet no problem. I have both a evo one and one two, I purchased the es visor for the evo one two and works great and use this for 9months of the year and the pinlock 70 with the standard visor. When the 70 is weathered I will. Purchase the 120.for winter use. Great helmet and I hear the GT is a lot quiter with better venting.

    • @ncf11
      @ncf11 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is what I hear also, that the GT is quiter with increased ventilation. I saw these from Champion reviews which would make it better for longer commutes than mentioned here. Don't get me wrong, Motolegends has great reviews which I trust. Perhaps I'm just hoping the GT will serve better than it sounds here.

    Best video detailing in all-honesty, the history and evolution (excuse the pun) of the Evo line (another pun) and it's shortcomings and attempts at perfecting the series. Thank you for your candor!
