    *Works great. I especially like the grinding / cutting mode and the off mode⛑️ **allabout.wiki/Finish** Be sure to turn it back to welding mode before striking an arc, or else - flash burn. . .The only down side is the head band. Is is cheap, but I understand standard head bands will fit, so I will probably upgrade the head band.I had an old self darkening hood that worked, but I thought I was going blind because I could not see the puddle.*

    This was the best demonstration of the Shark Evoline S3. Thanks, I am looking forward to the purchase.

    I have a Shark Speed-R that uses the same visor mechanism as this one, it failed after just 3 months. The problem was, the little plastic lug that inserts into the hole on the visor would come out. Then when you went to pull the visor down the metal strip would foul-up and you'd have to dig the visor out of the shell of the helmet with scissors.
    I don't think I'll be buying this one off that basis alone.

      Sorry you had that problem, sounds like a one-off issue that should've been be warranty covered. My Series 3 was new in 2014 and with regular use there have been no such issues to date

    I bought one back in 2016. Nice Helmet indeed. But it is heavy and does put a strain on one's neck over time.

    I bought the Evoline S3 Helmet but at 70MPH I find the wind noise is very high. Do I need to close the air intakes to reduce the noise? or should I wear neck scarf to reduce noise?
    I wear the ear plugs already but I find my ears are ringing after the end of the ride

    really a very good review..One Question: how about the safety in the closed position? Is it as safe as a full-face helmet?

    • @Jafrum
      @Jafrum  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your question. Yes, these locking mechanisms are tested and proven. You will be safe in a Shark helmet. They've made some pretty cool safety videos showing off their helmets, like this one : th-cam.com/video/8p1ZJ_WBRkU/w-d-xo.html . I highly recommend you check them out. - Ellen

    Good review! Thans for the padding removal at the forehead tip! Now my New evoline fits me perfect!

    • @SailorVic1
      @SailorVic1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I did this on my own due to desperated forehead pressure area, made all the difference. And since it was out of warranty anyway, I extended the eps channels down to the rear where I dremelled out the oval Moov'Up tag and created an exhaust port. Didn't make a huge diff but I do detect a little flow now.

    Thanks for the review. Do you think the removal of the forehead pad will compromise safety at all? (I presume you mean the dark grey pad glued to the white foam?)

    • @SailorVic1
      @SailorVic1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Remember that helmet makers often 'produce' different sizings by keeping the same shell and either adding or removing foam padding. If a pad is causing painful pressure points then there is too much pad.
