Pure hearing and visual pleasure featuring my 2019 Nissan 370z Nismo. The 2019 Nissan 370z Nismo ($45,790 MSRP, ~$41,000 current market) is a more serious and track-focused rendition of the old school 370z coupe. Available as a 7-speed auto or beloved 6-speed manual, the Nismo is one of the last of a dying breed (very cliche). Old-school modern Japanese sports car with a naturally aspirated 3.7 liter V6, the soon to be legendary VQ motor. The Z embodies the Japanese philosophy, Kaizen, meaning continuous incremental improvements over long periods of time aiming for absolute refinement. Except this 370z has remained largely unchanged other than facelifts and Recaro seats. Would you choose this Nismo over the current gen Nissan Z, or maybe even save up double for a dealer-marked new Nismo variant? Which out of the small pool of modern JDM sports cars would you consider this against?

This car probably does mark the end of an era, because even the new Z (and Supra) have turbo-chargers. The only more mainstream NA ICE cars you can get now are things like the Mustang muscle. And of course, there are the BRZ / GR86 twins, and while I love them, they're not quite in the same league.
I think I'm probably a lot like you. I get in the Z, get out on some mountain twisties, and enjoy the experience of actually driving a car, actually being in control of the car (not relying on nannies and algorithms to "keep me safe."). This experience is going away, and it's kinda sad. At least we get to keep it alive, if only for a few moments longer.
