Met them both today. Both guys and their ladies are genuine and very helpful. Thanks again Rob for the meet up and it was a pleasure to meet all four of you. I'll get to that "project" next week Rob.
Two great dudes. I enjoyed hearing from Ron. Hope to hear from his lady, too. Glad to hear he has his Type 2 Diabetes under control. That is huge. He looks like he has a lot of good life left in his tank!
Another great video. Thank you for both being so honest to the viewers. I just got back from the Philippines after a month there. I didnt have high expectations, and i still enjoyed my vacation after a 26 year absence from this country. Moving to a new country and starting a new life is not easy, so i commend you both for taking the risks. Finding a beautiful partner also helps. YOLO, dont have regrets.
Rob your living your best life. I’ll bet you couldn’t have imagined your life could be so good in the Philippines. I know exactly how you feel I’ve been here twenty years now. My life has never been better I have a great home and a great wife. I could live anywhere and I chose the Philippines. One of the major reasons are the people. There warm and welcoming to the expats. By the way it was a great interview.
Growing up in the Caribbean, we sometimes had foreigners working on the island. A few of my high-school teachers were from the UK and Canada. They settled comfortably and enjoyed the simplicity of Caribbean life. Here I am today in the US for over 40 years and I can't wait to go back and enjoy the life they once discovered and enjoyed. I would like to caution prospective explorers to take a test drive first to see if your fabric and temperament can work in any new land before making that final move. Pay close attention to any existing personal medical situations that will require special attention and the available care where you plan on residing. It's truly a leap of faith with more questions than answers. I see the emmense value for seniors betting on a new lease on life with new love and an affordable lifestyle and I applaud you for taking that leap. In flying, there is something called the Point of No Return which is self explanatory. Please do Not incorporate one in your plan. Always have a plan B. To all adventurous Seniors around the world!!
Another great interview Rob. You are getting really good at this. I especially enjoyed Ron's reminiscing about his days in Subic, and Olongapo.* (I do disagree with your characterization of Ron. He looks and acts like the Marine he still is. (That's a good thing.) I liked hearing Ron's insights on finally making the decision to move to the Philippines, and it is inspiring to hear another LDR success story. Carry on! *Tell Ron I still have a hostess buttons from my "adventures" in Olongapo. One says "Galore Day and Night Club, Olongapo, Philippines." And I can still hear the voice when crossing the river bridge into Olongapo: "Change your dollars to pesos at Carmen's New City Money Exchange, where you get the best exchange rate in the 'Pill ah peens." (That's how she would say Philippines, I think that was her little dig at American servicemen.)
Thanks for another awesome story. I am in the process of making final move to the Philippines in 2025. Can’t wait! lol God bless you and your families. ✨🕊️
I truly admire hthese people who found love in the Philippines, but I hope they become as resilient as the people they love particularly I'm overcoming frustrations and hardships because the country is not a paradise as many envisions it to be. It can test one's patience! And yey, welcome to MY city of Golden Friemship, Cagayan de Oro..I grew up there and I still go home at least once a year although I live in Quezon City now! I have seen how it has developed from a sleepy, bucolic city. BTW. I studied in Xavier University from grade school up to high school...great memories , good education and one of the important reasons why I go back to CDO!
@FlyMeToThePhilippines but your wife can, just seems like a good investment to me. My wife and I are looking to build a part time home there next year somewhere in Zambales
Watch the video that the Illoillo vlogger did of Rob and Chrissy's house rental. Rob has a unique and screamin' great deal on that prime property! It works for them at this time. I am jealous of their situation.
I have a special request. I chat with a filipina in Bislig, Mindanao. She has me send her money for food and special purchases which are always expensive. The latest is 5k pesos for a single burner hotplate from China. She has no way she says, to order by Lasada and is at the mercy of the local stores overcharging. I feel that I am the one being overcharged. Could you please give me an idea on how much this hotplate would retail for in your area of CDO Mindanao please? I would really appreciate your reply, thank you. Best, Mike
You really think that the way you think, interpret, or personalize a situation is the same universally with all people? That way of thinking is very naive.
@AG-so4gl Why does a troll like you always ruin a good story. Maybe because you're a sad person living a sad life and enjoy bullying people. By the way, the proper spelling is "naive" and not "nieve".
I found my Filipina and through our mutual friends. I don’t need the luxury life and the needs of where I came from. I’m into adventure and exploration of the world with my Filipina. I’m 68 and she is 38 years old, & has a beautiful intelligent 11 year old daughter we will raise together as one ☝️ ❤👧🏻🫂👧🏻🥰💋💋💋💋

There are VA Care centers not far from CDO
🙏👍
This needs a part 2
Part 2 please ,🙏🙏🙏
Let’s see if we can get them to sit for another interview
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines yes please 🙏🙏🙏
I’m interested, as a fellow marine that gets medical care from the VA, what services if any are available to him.
We will have to have him back so he can explain
Great video Rob
Thanks so much, Paul
Great video. Just curious, why rent? Why not build a place of your own?
Expats can’t own land, only certain condos
@FlyMeToThePhilippines but your wife can, just seems like a good investment to me. My wife and I are looking to build a part time home there next year somewhere in Zambales

Many many thanks
WENG? With the TH-cam channel
Different
You kept cutting him off from stories i wanted to hear.
Sorry- we had to trim 55 minutes down to 35
Part 2 more in depth please 🙏🙏🙏
I want to move there….i can afford it but my girlfriend is in Dumaguete and it’s too far from her family….😊
It’s important, not to move her too far from her family
If you have that view to your house, you will have a longer life.
🙏❤️❤️❤️
Semper Fi...
OMW, touchdown in December... Starting in Lapu-Lapu City first 40 days... Loved the stories SgtMaj... Thanx guys
Our pleasure!
Is there still the weekend night cafe in CdO?
I’m not familiar with it
Does Weng or Chrissy have a friend that needs a foreigner 😊
🫣
I think that CDO is very interesting!
Yes it is 👍
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines , someone said that Iloilo of similar size was getting expensive. I think that's one reason CDO is interesting.
@ maybe plus 10%
Fun watching Rob throwing smack.
Thanks 😊
