Hey Steve was thinking of buying you a coffee machine a look cheaper 😅 yesssss I have a Tassimo & the lattes are so good 👍🏽 love your work 😽 Very Creative yeah 🖼️ love K4ttt ❤
Becoming a member was the best thing I have ever done. I have met the most brilliant people and have gained so many great friends and some very best friends. It truly is the best place on FB. Just like Steve McDonald is the best TH-camr on TH-cam.
I kept thinking you needed to use a squigee on the water slides. Air bubbles can get trapped so bad under them. I use water slides all the time with resin and they work so awesome!
Me too now, I love them. I’ve used the pre made ones lots of time but never the ones you can print with an inkjet printer. I am a complete convert now.
they are all lovely but i love the one with the blue flowers and the water slide dragon well done steve anything you do is fantastic keep up the good work
I think he thought it would float up in the resin or the. Stickers would partially stick to the coasters cause of.the glue. I use stickers face down sometimes and they can move. Or fold.
Those look awesome!!! I don't know if it's the same for this kind as it is with the tiny ones I put in my nails. I never completely submerge my sliders. I use awet papertowel. U don't have as much water to wipe off n risk of tearing
Yes they will deffo work as the resin has a stronger adhesion than the sticky back of the sticker or water slide. You will probably have a sticky surface on the sticker, unless some resin manages to seep underneath it. If it doesn't then all you would need to do is add a thin topcoat. x
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts haha yea I seen after I had commented lol. Came out great though. I need to try the waterslide sheets myself at some point. Thanks x
Temporary tattoos are also good for resin and eco pours. Resin you can put them onto the mold and the resin picks them up fine. But then you need a top coat to protect it. Ecos you need to put them on after demolding 😊 With the sticker just a top coat like the temporary tattoos would help with that
This technique is so cool. I've not wanted to get into the whole Cricut thing but have wanted to use images that I can't draw. This opens up immense opportunities for me. Thank you Steve, you are the best😊
I print and cut a lot of waterslide by hand but also use my cricut to cut them too - I never stop hand cutting images and stickers though, it's just so satisfying!
I am not surprised resin is simply amazing, I wonder if it would work reversed, with putting the decal print side down and then slide off the back? I'm making coasters and will try!
I am surprised also. I do know that if you put your sticker in a little at a time you can avoid most air pockets. They all turned out awesome. Thanks so much for what you do.
I think all of the stickers will be fine, even the ones you attached straight to the mold. I think the resin will treat them just like mica, when you dust the molds before pouring.
i use paper stickers and they work but you have to steal them, which i use tape. i figured these would work well because they arent paper stickers. you could also do a thin top coat if its sticky too. i really like the mold with the little bubbles around the edge. it looks fancy n.n
I do this with stickers and tattoos all the time. I find although both processes work a thin coat first is best. I've even used uv to coat it so it didn't trap air. When i have residue i dont use alcohol. Idk i just ruin it trying. I just coat it with low viscosity uv. Or spray the topcoat on it. Havent had a really bad experience so far. Just all thumbs sometimes.
Hey Steve! These worked better than most already printed ones for me. I had rin out of ones I had used for a popular item I was selling, and found this paper as a solution. It saved me a lot of money and stress. Brilliant video, loved it!
WOW i am very surprised !! did not think that would work!. I wonder if this would work on an eco pour ?? You could always put a think layer of uv resion over the top of the stickers on those first 2 to seal them
I've done both of these before myself and prefer the water slide paper although I used it a bit differently than you. I put the water slide paper against the mold then wet it with a sponge and slid it off then poured my resin on. As for the stickers I had never stuck it to the mold before so that was neat to see it still attached to the resin but if you look at the stickers in resin you can see an outline around the stickers and sometimes get a fish scale look behind the sticker because of the sticky backing. I've tried removing the sticky backing with alcohol and it helps with that issue and I tried sanding the edges but you could still see the outline (I also tried sanding the top, big mistake it will remove the print) but I haven't tried sanding the backs after removing the sticky backing. But I am trying to find a way to make that outline around the sticker disappear so if you can figure out how we can make it invisible that would be amazing!! Much love my friend ❤❤❤❤🤗
On the one where you put the sticker directly on the mold, could you have just added a thin layer of resin over the sticker after you unmolded it, to seal the sticker?
I trust the process, I'm hoping for some awesome results Those turned out great! Thought the stickers would look best, but was pleasantly suprised by the water transfers
These look fantastic Steve. I have some water slide decals somewhere that I love, I already used some of them on a lamp. I’m certainly going to try these and some stickers which I probably have ran abundance of in my stash of items. Thanks for the idea and the inspiration. I’m away at the moment but as soon as I fret back I’m getting stuck into my resin and I cant wait. I also want to make some stained glass with the resin, that looks very beautiful too. Have to purchase the acetate first though. Mmmm! So many ideas I’m getting from all their videos I’m watching. I need to buy some more resin so I don’t run out, I think.
Recently discovered your very informative and entertaining videos. I’m learning so much each time. So many interesting options for resin. Am yet to actually attempt anything! Wish you had an option for joining from Australia and wondering if you ship to Australia?
I love those dragons!! Adorable! Question about making stickers... My husband has asked me to make him a sticker to put on the outside window of his truck. I know the paper I'm printing on is waterproof but the ink will not be... How do I make it so the rain won't wash away my ink? Thanks so much for your videos and any advice you might have! 💚🩷
Oooo this was a good one to try! I've seen loads of (and bought) stickers for resin, holographic ones in particular (I LOVE anything holographic!!) and when you put the stickers in I was a bit dubious about it working, especially the dragon one, with the sticky side up (on the finished product), but the water slide stuff was a new one to me! I LOVE that!! I definitely want to give it a go, do you think it would work with UV resin?? I guess you could do a top coat over the sticky-sticker as well, maybe? Like you said though, more faff when the water slide ones came out so nicely, especially where they didn't have trapped air under them! Got my brain buzzing with ideas now! :D Great video, absolutely loved it, that mould you used for the water slide dragon was exceptionally pretty with the white mica powder, looked like it was edged with pearls
Is everything here a game changer? How many patches and updates does this game have? :D I like dragon characters, and been watching you for a while for inspiration! Do you ever go through a store, see something and say "That might be something I can use with resin!" ? I saw a silicone tray mat once with little square patterns and I thought that would make some small colorful bits I can throw like confetti in resin!
I would watch more of these if you didn't yell through the whole video. Even when you turn down the volume it is uncomfortable to listen to. I wouldn't say any of these were a game changer. They had all kinds of imperfections, bubbles, etc. Kinda cheap looking. Love your other videos though.
You could put a thin layer of resin on the plain dragon one.
I use fingernail water slide decals in UV resin pendants. They work great!
I've used stickers in the past and just do a quick topcoat

Those all look great, but the waterslide (in my opinion) came out better. Love the little dragon! Very cute.

Nice one Steve. I've always loved using waterslide stickers in resin. And on Eco Pour too. Great fun
My new favourite technique
I kept thinking you needed to use a squigee on the water slides. Air bubbles can get trapped so bad under them. I use water slides all the time with resin and they work so awesome!
I have been using water slides for years and prefer them to stickers
Me too now, I love them. I’ve used the pre made ones lots of time but never the ones you can print with an inkjet printer. I am a complete convert now.
It works! I’ve tried it myself and they come out beautifully. Just need a topcoat afterwards to keep the water slide protected. 😊
they are all lovely but i love the one with the blue flowers and the water slide dragon well done steve anything you do is fantastic keep up the good work
😂 The two types of stickers were interesting and worked out well. Nice and interesting video. Thank you. M in USA
I am surprised you wasn’t sure the water slide would work Steve because they are basically temporary tattoos. ❤

I pour the clear first then put the waterslide on. I’ve used them on trays when I’ve not had enough time to paint design on. Works really well

Ive noticed myself when i do an experiment, it usually works out brilliant! Loved these❤
I find the printable vinyls are absolutely brilliant for this - really keep the colour well and don't bleed in the resin
Love them all!
I would put a bit of resin over the sticker to get rid of the stickiness.
I am not surprised resin is simply amazing, I wonder if it would work reversed, with putting the decal print side down and then slide off the back? I'm making coasters and will try!
I have another experiment to do with this, so will include this as well. 😀
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts amazing!!! I'll wait then 😉😂
Yes it does, Waterslide transfers should be same from either side
Pretty sure I seen another TH-camr doing it the other way. Toonpish crafts maybe?
Love them. ❤
Water slide paper is the bomb ! So easy it’s mind blowing.🎉
those flat wide silicone make-up brush things work great for squeegees to get the water out from under the waterslides.
Steve. You get plenty of compliments on your art. I wanted to extend that to your production. You do a really good job at that.
Thank you, Dr. Mc.
I am surprised also. I do know that if you put your sticker in a little at a time you can avoid most air pockets. They all turned out awesome. Thanks so much for what you do.
So pretty, all of them.
I’m not surprised that they worked right on the mold. I’ve actually watch other crafted even use temporary tattoos directly onto the mold 😮
I agree.. I was surprised the resin adhered to the sticker that was directly on the mold. Thank you for testing the stickers and water slide paper!
I think all of the stickers will be fine, even the ones you attached straight to the mold. I think the resin will treat them just like mica, when you dust the molds before pouring.
Love the cute little dragons❣️
Lovely results, with an eye on keeping costs lower.
Love it! You know what I am doing now! Love you and your videos
Hi, I don't work with resin, however I am totally hooked on your experiments. Thank you.
I’ve been waiting for this! There are so many good sites for free (and paid) pictures that the possibilities are endless 😊

I went through a sticker phase, ran around getting old used coasters and plopped a sticker in gave a thin over coat, works great!
Cool thanks for showing us
Straight on definitely will work..

7:20 Try applying the stickers with a bit of (soapy) water, too. Then remove all water&bubbles by pressing it down with tiny squeegee.
Steve you and Claire are my absolute favs.. I love to experiment also. I have to know if something no one is doing will work.
Thank you.
Thank you. You helped me immensely.
I love making and using waterslide stickers in resin - my cricut gets a lot of use for this!
WOW i am very surprised !! did not think that would work!. I wonder if this would work on an eco pour ?? You could always put a think layer of uv resion over the top of the stickers on those first 2 to seal them
I like the water transfers cos they're less shiny
and the bubbles too yeah
what's the cost difference?
So helpful to see this. Thank you.
Such a cool technique ❤
Very cool, Steve. 👏🏻
Thank you 😀
Pretty cool Steve!
Love the game changer really love to try them u are brillant love ur videos
Really cute. ❤

Wow 😮💕

In this types of molds do you need to mirror the sticker? So they are not backwards on the mold

I’m going to test it in UV resin tomorrow, not sure if it will work as the UV resin gets really warm quickly. I’ll give it a go anyway. 😀
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts Wooo more experiments! That's what we like to see! Awesome stuff
Would it work to rub a clear resin coat over the top of the stickers on the round ones?

Yes it does
Could you just put a thin top coat on the sticky one?
❤❤❤❤❤
Sticking the sticker was bound to happen as sticky side was up but you just just pop a topcoat on it
The kit is unavailable on amazon 😞
Instead of rubbing the sticky off why not give it another thin layer of epoxy just on the inside?
I think the stickers will work but will need a top coat…woohoo
👍🏻👏🏻😊
Just top coat the one with the sticker
You have to put the waterslide picture down
