This method works! I adopted a rescue 3 month old kitten from my veterinarian. He was very fearful at first, so we let him get adjusted to sight, sounds, smells in my small family room for a few days. He would come out briefly to eat and would play at night. Little by little, we moved his "stuff" further away from the sofa area which he hid under. Within about 2 weeks...he was out, plays anytime, answers to his name when called, and is as affectionate and happy as can be. When he went back to the vet for his shots and checkup, even the vet was surprised at how comfortable and tame this kitten had become! Thanks, Jackson!

We found a 2 month old kitten and the poor thing is so afraid of loud noises, quick movements, and immediately goes under the couch or our bed when upstairs. He has been getting better. I know he wants to play so much the poor little thing! This video was a lifesaver! Thank you!!!

I relatively recently adopted a 2-year old cat named Ture, and of course he hid himself under the coach and other furnitures available when the chance present itself. At first I let him be so he could by himself get out whenever he feels safe, and in the last few days I had quite varied results. At the 2 first days he went out only to do litter and eat his food but then he opens up alot more in the evenings/nights - this improved slightly as time went but is NEVER social on the mornings or midday, just flat out camping until the night comes. As if there's a switch that went to "no vacancy". But I can't always be social at 11 or 12 PM due to circumstances at work so I'd like to see him more available during the day - I adopted him for companionship and I give as much love as I can as the day goes, but I feel I'm not getting any love back unless it's night.
I've tried with the following: Soft conversations, toys/play, treats, food, two GREAT cat trees and catnip (he shows interests of catnip but never acts upon it) - literally nothing you've suggested brings him out of his hidey hole while he's like this so there's no challenge line if he never takes up on it. Any ideas?

I adopted the most shy, timid cat in the shelter. He would never come out from his hiding spot when we were around. Turns out he was not really socialized to humans when he was young and it was a few months and nothing really helped him besides the cat tamboo toy( a long stick with feathers) which he loved. UNTIL we got a SECOND cat two months later and man that was like flipping a switch. He learned from the other cat how to interact with people and play, and how to just be a cat. He is the best most sweet and loving cat .. doesnt bite or scratch... if your cat wasnt well socialized it might be a good idea to get another cat that has been socialized to humans so he or she can learn that it's ok to be with humans. OH and we got a collar with a bell/bluetooth tile for collar so we could know where they were hiding at the beginning. Helps if u have a big house with lots of hiding spots.

Great suggestions! We just adopted a new kitty about 2 months ago. She was nervous but still quite loving for the most part, until she found a hiding spot under the bed. If we blocked off the bedroom she would explore and be less skiddish, but as soon as she had access to the bed again she would hide and rarely come out! We started only allowing her bedroom access at night when we were asleep, and over time she hid less and less the more she was able to explore and be around us enough to know we were not there to harm her. She still hides under there now some (she still has issues with us walking towards her, she has to come to us!), but most of her sleep time is now ON the bed instead of under it! I thank Jackson for his many Cat Mojo tips to help our progress. :-)

My boyfriend and I recently had an apartment flood and had to emergency move out. We are now staying with his parents temporarily until we can find another place. They have a cat, Charlie, that I swear is afraid of literally everything. We have been working with him very slowly and being patient and FINALLY after about a week and a half he no longer darts off when we enter the room and yesterday he actually let us pet him! We're so happy to have a new kitty friend! 😻😸 He's still a little bit skittish, but I feel like having more people in the house is helping him.

  • @imaof4

Interesting method of behaviour modification. I'm sure it works.
I guess the 'fraidy' bit, at least for me, can be somewhat deeper.. Any behaviour usually has a reason. And it behooves us to look for the why.
We adopted a one year old cat from the Humane Society two years ago for my son. He picked her out. We already had a senior cat (Cotton_) at home (who's 17 now, and with the power of arithmetic, was 15 years old then). She had been living as the solo cat in the house when one of my daughters graduated from school in 2005 and took her cat with her. Yes, nine years of being a solo cat.
At first, new fur baby (Blair) stayed with son, upstair, and we gradually introduced her to the rest of the house. She would run away at the slightest noise, hated being picked up or held and was deathly afraid of Cotton, who even if Cotton turned in her direction, Blair would scatter.
We suspected perhaps, besides a new environment, she had had some trauma or mistreatment. Maybe not.
Blair would let me stroke her, but only at arms length, with access to a quick get away. If anyone crossed her path, she'd run in the opposite direction.
I took things at her speed. She didn't share the food and water bowl with Cotton, but rather, they took (and continue to take) turns. She graduated to jumping up on the arm my easy chair to get stroked, She had plenty of climbing room. The two cats settled into different areas. For example, Blair would sit and relax on the sofa and Cotton would sit on my chair.
Cotton would sleep at my side on my bed and Blair would be at the foot of the bed,
Now, Blair will gingerly place a paw on my lap as she descends from the arm of the chair, till she slowly stands, then sits, then finally lays her little head down, completely relaxed. I'm gently stroking her the entire time and she becomes a purr baby. Still. someone walking by can spook her and she's gone.
She loves chasing balled up paper and balls (but not noisy ones). She runs away from feathers on a stick.
As long as I approach her slowly and offer my hand, she'll hang out and play, She even will follow me from time to time.

I want to add that “rod toys/fishing” might not be the best option at first once you get your cat to challenge themselves. My fraidy cat preferred “wand/stick feather toys” at first because they were close to the ground and much less intimidating. I always sat and tried to keep the rod close to the ground but having it hover slightly off the ground was “too much” at first and scared her. So get low to the ground, get a stick wand and hide it under a pillow or something near the bed. Then build up their curiosity towards the rod toys and watch them creep out! Now she plays middle of the lounge room with a rod toy! It’s been a week! So proud of her progress! I think adopting her with a brother helped too- and finding that sweet playful time in the evening and focusing the longer sessions then. Good luck everyone!

I used to have a cat who was afraid of basically everything, my very first cat. If it moved she was scared of it - including prey (mice, birds, etc), other cats, toys, although she didn't hide away in difficult to get to places (her hiding places were behind the settee and under the kitchen table, the other favourite hiding place was in the garage if she saw another cat or a bird or a mouse)

I'm so glad I saw this video, I was feeding my fraidy cat under the bed, I got him 2wks ago and although he has bonded with my other cats he is not trusting me yet. He hides under the kitchen cupboards also, I will start blocking these off now after listening to your advice. I hope he comes around, Apparently his previous owner stoned him, he was just 2mths old so no wonder the little pet is not jumping into my lap. Love your videos, a great help.

It takes time maybe even months be patient. Especially since she has been traumatized PTSD happens in pets too hell I'm still suffering from my trauma. oh boy

Eeek! We just adopted our cat who hasn't had much human interaction so is very nervous around us, he's only been with us just under 2 weeks and we have been feeding treats under the bed which we thought would be a way for him to get used to us so hopefully, we can change this tactic while it's still early days. Thought about tacking the mattress off the bed so it's no so hidey

I love your videos, and I have one question to ask. My sister got a cat around thankgiving last year. But last saturday, we brought in some kittens that we are fostering. Our older cat (about 7-9 months) does not like them and always hisses at them, causing us to have the kittens locked up in a seperate room when were away from the house. Our older cat is young, but a very large breed of cat, and im afraid she is going to hurt the three kittens.

My cat is kind of nervous on a special way. For example, she doesn't hide in places or something like that. She roams through the house like a normal cat but she is really afraid of certain things. For example, is she is walking through a corridor and I'm walking in the opposite direction for going to another room or whatever, when she sees me she gets all puffy and paralyzes and then starts running as if I was going to do something to her and I'm just like walking through. Also, when she enters a room to chill out or whatever she gets really scarred of ANY NOISE, like if I'm on my bed and I move, she gets scared of the sounds I made when moving or if I move a hand or something. So I don't know what to do.

My cat is a five year old rescue. And she is a tortie. Her first year she spend with An elderly lady who never had visitors. The lady passed away. At one year I adopted her. She quickly became attached to me and she grew to be a confident owner. She is such a sweetheart and its easy to train her. In everyday life, she is quite a mojito cat. With visitors she has grown. First she would hide under the bed until the left. Now she Comes, sniffs their bags, sniff their hands, all well. But when they pet her, she hits them. Without nails, but still. Maybe I should tell me visitors not to pet her? I don't know what else to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

I advise against putting any type of adhesive on a guitars finish. Some finishes react to the adhesive backing, and can cause damage to the finish. Short periods of time are ok (think less than 24 hours). I build guitars.

My cat is terrified of my wife. When we first got her she was very shy from the animal shelter, she gradually came out and was great. A few months ago however Honey, the cat, almost died! She started choking on some string she got a hold of, my wife saved her life but now she is afraid of her. Also before that my wife had disciplined the cat a little too much and I had to correct it. I’m wondering what the best steps are to mend their relationship. I’m sure having her feed the cat is a step in the right direction. She is so scared sometimes she pees and poops just seeing her. I just want Honey to not be scared anymore! She is 2 years old. Thanks Jackson

Oreo cookie is approx 4, F, came to me 3 weeks ago. Her prior guardian found her outdoors. She fed her for a yr then brought her inside for a yr which she stayed in one room due to hounds. Since she’s been w me she caves, but comes out to eat, cuddle, rub against things, sleep on top of bed, but I can’t get her interested in “play.” I guess she’s not relaxed enough. I am moving challenge lines. Have closed door to room w bed. Tomorrow I Will close other door which has caves under shelves. I have so many types of toys but nothing interests her. I won’t give up trying. Patience and persistence is the name of the game.

Blue painters tape works great on furniture corners you don't want the cat scratching. Provided you gotta find a good scratching post your cat likes as well, mine likes the cardboard stuff, some like sisal rope posts, some like carpeted posts, some like the carpeted hump things, get creative on finding something for your cat to scratch on. Go to the hardware store/home depot, see if they have scraps of carpet, If its that old ugly couch in the rec room/basement that they love scratching on, well its a sacrificial alter IMO.

I have a scaredy cat, but it's due to social anxiety. At the start of his life, he was the only cat in the house. Then a new cat was introduced and she eventually had kittens. He used to bully the kittens, but then they grew up and the king has since been dethroned. Now he hides in a closet or under a chair unless his human protector is sitting down in her favorite chair for a while. He'll come out to join her there, eat, and go outside, so he's not a total wimp, but he's also constantly reminded of where his place is by the other cats. In fact, the few territories he has are shared with others--either the chair with his protector or the guest bedroom with the mother cat.
I'm sure the solution to this is to reintroduce him, but I don't have the time or patience for that. However, he needs to stop hiding and claim some territory so he can get his confidence back, whether he deserves it or not.

My grandpa had rescued a kitten from his work place. He was very scared of us, but seemed to enjoy bothering the older cats but whenever we tried to come over to pet him he'd run under my grandpa's dower. We were finally able to get him and trap him in a cage to take to the vet.
He was sick and the vet gave us medicine and keep him away from other cats, luckily the other cats didnt get what he had. We had locked him in the bathroom and put a blanket where he had always sleeped on in there.
Everyday when we gave him his medicine we would pet him, he would crouch in a corner and you could just tell he wanted to run away, but we still petted him and let him sniff us to let him know were ok.
Later and later he actually started to open up, he would play with us and roll on his stomach where he liked his chest to be scratched. We were very happy but were worried that when we let him out he would transform into that shy scared cat.
But he didnt and now he roams around our house with his tail high up and curled, hes alot more playful now, occasionally he'll run when theres a loud noise or someone moves really fast but hes really improved, he even loves to rub his face onto ours and lay on you when he gets the chance.

Hi! I just found your videos because I'm searching for help with my new rescue kitten. I got Laila almost 2 weeks ago, but I've never even really gotten a good look at her. She had been rescued with about 3 other adult cats and 12 little kittens from an abandoned building. I think Laila is ~4 months old. She was spayed and that's it. When I picked her up, she was in a carrier that I was allowed to keep. She hid under a blanket in the carrier. I got her home and took her to my bedroom and closed her in so she could get acclimated to a small space and slowly introduce her to my other cat. Laila immediately ran under the bed. She will only come out when I am asleep or away from the room. I've tried coaxing her with food treats like tuna and boiled chicken, but she refuses to eat if I'm awake and in the room. She even went 4 days without eating. I got a Feliway diffuser, but I've noticed no difference in her behavior. I don't want to force her out. I'm starting to get really worried.

After three years, I have gotten her to take food from my fingers, but I have stroked her only once. She likes to come inside and investigate, but runs outside again if a noise startles her. Im socializing my second cat now using nothing but feline language, TLC, and some soup meat from time to time. No challenging lines or anything. It works fine. The only thing that is important: Make sure that the hiding spots are such that they feel safe, but you can still easily approach them. Blink at them, look the other way sometimes. Make sure you are at their level when approaching them. And put their food bowls where they should be. They will come out of hiding when you're not around. ;-)

I misunderstood the title of this video. I had a cat who was a "fraidy cat" (may she rest in peace), but she was afraid of my family/friends who visited me. She was a regular snuggle bunny when it came to me.
I thought for future reference I could learn how to make a "fraidy cat" comfortable around visitors so she wouldn't feel like she had to hide in her own home. Do you have any videos that address that situation?

Jackson, we adopted a 5 month old from a shelter. He was in a foster home before the shelter. He is terrified of strangers in our home, particularly men. But he also growls, crouches and runs, when he sees a neighbor woman and her little girl come outside. At times, if he doesn't recognize my husband he runs from him. So Ken has started talking to him as soon as he comes in, and he has taken to picking him up, before bed time, talking, and petting him and then giving him a few treats. He is now 2 years old, I play with him for an hour after supper, and he waits and watches for this. He is starting to play like a normal cat, by himself, which he never did. And we built him a high tower, that he can jump and climb up and nap or just watch. But if we have company, he's nowhere to be seen. We occasionally have family down( here in FL) from the north, and about the 5th day he will finally come out at night, and observe them. Only once did he allow my adult daughter to touch him. He does not like to be held, won't sit on our lap, but will lay on the top of the couch, above my head. What can I do to get him to not be terrified of strangers.

I was wondering what your opinion is on pedigree cats? Because a lot is being discussed on whether pedigree should be given so much importance as it does and if the high price that cat breeders ask for their cats is reasonable.

I have a feral female cat which is in a bathroom over night and during the day i put her in a social box in the living room where i am. She is very shy but not aggressive at all, She let me pat her while she is laying on the ground. I regularly pet her when she is in her social box. Just 2 days ago she started meowing(crying) shortly after I put her back in the bathroom. Through a camera I can talk to her and she reacts to it at stops crying. What should I do?

I got a question for you Jackson. So my cat pounced on toys like you said all the time but then she just runs and hides again because she hates my other cat so much and he's just a kitten. Why is she losing her mono, she's such a cool cat but she seems to be hiding more and more. The other kitten which is a boy and is about 16 weeks old is a very sweet little guy.

Help please : I adopted an 8 month old cat who is always scared and not socialized. He was born in the streets and spent his life in a cage. It’s been a month now since I adopted him, I’ve noticed a lot of improvement: he is not hiding all the time anymore, he gets out and plays and eats, he sits on the sofa and cleans himself but he does that when I’m far from him.. in the same room but far or occupied.
He used to accept food from my hand and let me touch him when he is confortable in the closet, but not anymore ! He literally hisses at me now when I try to touch him or let my hand with food close to him. I put my hand close to him to try to touch him when he’s outside and he “punches” me to stop me from touching him.
He was a scared but very nice cat when I first adopted him, now he’s showing me an aggressive side and I don’t know what to do.. I try to give him his space and not touch him or approach him for days but I feel like he’s simply not an affoctionate cat ! Should I give up and accept that he doesn’t like to be petted ?
    Thanks,

My girl is a semi feral, she's very much a mojito cat at home with me, and with people of her choosing. I have yet to figure out her way of making these choices tho. With some people she's a mojito cat, with some she's a different degree of wildflower. There's People that she doesn't even want to be in the same room with, there's people where she's interested but still hiding and there's people she's just perfectly mojito cat from the get go.

Hi Jackson, I think you're awesome (and I used to be a Vet Tech). I have had a rescue Maine Coone since he was ~ 4 months and he is now a little over a year. In addition, we have a second rescue cat who has a brain disorder rescue (CF). He is awesome but has weak back legs.
My question is about Maine Coone, "Minnow". He reminds me of the cowardly lion. He is all indoor, plenty of play time, high play surfaces. BUT; he is afraid of ANY noise that is sudden, Some music, a box that is moved across the floor, the front door that is closed. Just about anything and he is on immediate stealth mode. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.

Ok so, I got a cat about 4 years ago. She was very shy and odd but we just thought it was because we just got her. She isn't " violent " but she will hiss and try to claw you occasionally when going to close to her. She hides often and is scared of everyone. Occasionally she will sit by my grandma but she is the only person Zoom ( Zoom is the cat ) will go near. We take good care of her and try to pet her but also respect her if she wants space. We have another cat ( Maria ) who is extremely friendly and social , and will barley hurt you even if she tries, because she just warns you. We have no idea what is going on with the cat , so if anyone here is a cat expert maybe reply some ways I could help her start to be more social and a little more comfortable in our house.

We have a TON of feral cats outside of my house and my kitty is a very scaredy cat. I dont know if its because shes alway on edge because of the outside cats (we feed them so they are always around) or if it's because shes still afraid because of where she was born and how people treated her while she was there. Hi cat lovers! I need your advice. I have a male cat who turned 1 year old last month. He's started going into heat, but he's an indoor cat and there's no female around with whom he can mate. Bcoz of this his behaviour has changed a lot. He urinates and shits outside the litter box, is more lazy, more hungry, more loud, and much less affectionate. Is this normal behaviour? If not, how can I help him get back to normal? Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Love is when it is not forced. Cats are no objects, designed to serve your needs.
If a cat does not want to socialize and simply hates you then go on mind your own business.
Allow a cat to approach you on her own terms, if ever, and then you will appreciate the bond and love you might develop with that cat way more.

    • @Holret
      @Holret 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

+Alki Malk Sometimes cats need help understand that you are not a threat. Besides saying that if a cat doesnt want you and you should be okay with that, kind of defeats the whole point of having a pet.

    • @alkimalk2922
      @alkimalk2922 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Holret In my experience, all animals I had contact with could tell whether they were loved by me or not, they simply always knew and always responded positively towards it.
I personally do not believe that animals are "stupid" and they do very well know and understand what love is and whether they are loved and accepted or not, no matter what kind of animal.
Since all animals I had responded to my love with love themselves, I do not believe that this "defeats" the point of having a pet. Love your pet, respect your pet, and you will receive love and honor in return.
Simply give the pet a chance to love you back by giving it the freedom to approach you by her own terms, too.

The weird thing is in the mornings it’s super affectionate and late night. But in between those two it doesn’t drink it doesn’t eat it doesn’t use the bathroom. It just hides and won’t come out. Is this normal behavior for a new cat like that? What should I be expecting ? Please help 🙏🏼🙏🏼😔

I have a cat named Apricot. Her story is as follows, from my perspective. My dad's co-worked is riding around a wasteyard one day, and happens to see an orange and white cat, and takes him in. Two weeks later, She gives him away, as he is attacking her other cat. At this time he was only around eight and a half weeks old. I then adopt her, and my brother and I decide we should introduce him to the other cat, named Oreo, or at least thats what I call her. So then, she gets closer, and Apricot flings his claws at her. Thirteen weeks later now, he won't even get near her, and I have no clue why. I've given many tries to make him interact with her, and he just wont, and keeps attacking her for reasons I don't know. Once again, I've already tried taking baby steps, Every day for the past few weeks now, I have taken tiny steps towards getting him to interact. He just wont, plain and simple
Please help with this, Or link a video in a reply that will help me.

I don't feed my cat under the bed but I do feed her in my room because I was told that feeding the cats separately would cut down the fighting (it did a bit) & her brother is a guts that I had to train not to eat until I tell him to. My girl Frannie (short for Frantic) had a traumatic experience where she got out of the yard & was then trapped under the neighbour's house with 2 dogs barking at her & a couple of small children reaching for her "here kitty kitty" along with their dad's loud shouting at the dogs to "shut up!" She was there for a couple of hours until I got home & went to rescue her. Ever since then she's been afraid of Kids as well as dogs & men (but not as badly). Lately she's been getting braver & braver about coming out when people are here, I feel like she's telling me that she's finally ready to try being around my nieces & nephews. How do I challenge her without provoking her attack response (which shows up when she feels trapped) ? I don't want to scare the kids

Jackson, you need to do a show for people who have old/ill cats. It's so hard to know WHEN it is time to let them go and WHAT you can do in their decline to make them more comfortable and feel loved for the time they have left. It's so hard to know when in their best interest, "it's time"

Its always hard to let your furry friends go. I've lived with cats my whole life and I love them all. The ones that we had put to sleep my parents decided to let them go because it was obvious that they were suffering. They were starting to go blind and had joint problems and kidney problems. One of them had a big soar on his head that just would not heal. By the time it gets to that point its cruel and selfish to force them to live that way. I will say that you should try to be with your kitty while the vet gives them the shot. I know it's extremely painful, but it's better for our furry friends last moments to be with the people they love rather than some strange veterinarian that pokes and prods them every time they see them. It's really hard for a vet to put down an animal without the owner there as well, because they love animals and any living creature deserves to have their last moments with someone they love.

I was going for a month long treatment in another city so took him to the vet. I couldn’t expect my sitter to spend this much time caring for my cat. He was sicker than she realised and was head butting and purring at her as she gave him his final meds and died in her arms mid purr. We were both upset.

They do not like strangers in the house and will hide when someone knocks on the door. They spook easily. But they are my babies and I love them even though they are jumpy and paranoid. They are indoor-outdoor cats and enjoy their time outside as long as nothing spooks them. Haha. However dogs and other cats don't spook them but bicycles and people do.

I too rescued a feral kitten about 5 weeks old, He is now 14 mos old. He is also very easily startled at ANY sound and will not tolerate anyone other than my husband, daughter and myself. Only problem is he doesn't run and hide, he attacks. He is very territorial and aggressive and has some male dominance issues with my husband (he's been neutered) which usually ends with my husband bleeding. He's a biter and scratches when scared, angry, happy ect...( I will never declaw a cat) He was the sweetest kitten but around 6 mos he started attacking us, our feet and ankles and hands and stopped sitting on our laps and sleeping on us. He will jump up on my husband's leg with all claws dug in but wont do it to me. I tell people that he thinks he's the King but I'm the Kings MOTHER so I'm treated as such (though I also have my battle scars). By my watching Jason's show and following his ideas Rascal has improved alot, except the thing with other people and my husband is still fair game. People think I'm crazy for keeping him but I love him and know he would have to be put down if I did. When he was neutered they had to knock him out while he was in his carrier before they could handle him. They trimmed his claws and put the Kitty Kaps on for me which he promptly started chewing off. I can't have him put under every time he needs his claws trimmed so don't know what I'm going to do about that (or when he needs his next shots). He is a beautiful tabby w/tufts on his ears. He loves to play and can be affectionate on his terms. I just feel bad about what his life started out like and that I probably did things wrong without realizing it. I have never had a cat like this one. Wish Jason was in Pa. I would definitely want his opinion and expertise. Sorry for rambling but any input would be appreciated.

That way the cat will associate food with the guest

This sounds a lot like the process of working with the semi-feral I found on the side of the highway this winter. He spent 3 weeks hiding under a gap in the basement floor and leaving behind messes with worms in them before I decided to trap him to get veterinary care. After that, I used my giant husky crate to make him a safe space. It took months for him to get to the point where he would come to the door of his hidey hole for a bit of soft food or chopped up chicken. Once he was healthy enough to get fixed, we finally turned a corner.
After months of infinitesimal steps, Macavity started to come out for food when the door was open, and then would eat while I sat right beside him. Finally he let me give a pet or two while scarfing the food. Two months after turning the corner, he is a full member of the house, loves being petted and sleeps at my feet every night. I had been nearly ready to give up, wondering if I was doing the right thing, and it is amazing to see the change. I had hoped for handleable, and I got a cuddle cat.
Nature works on its own time. It's easy to be impatient and want to push too far, too fast. The first time he head butted my chin and started marking me was a moment that was worth waiting all those months for.

Hi, I have two cats, I adopted from an elderly couple who did not play or socialize with the cats much I’ve had them for about three weeks they have been in my basement because I have two other cats that are over 10 years old and very social and kind. The two new cats were playing in the basement for a while with each other I thought they were coming along then they managed to get into my drop ceiling and now I can’t get them out . Someone suggested I use live traps to trap them then bring them upstairs put them in a crate put them in the middle of the living room and socialize him that way do you think this might work? I hope so cause I’m about to go buy a crate for them thank you

Having two cats in a cramped one room apartment with me and my significant other doesn't leave much space for unwanted behavior. Its super catified because of that. We have hand built and designed cat spaces for that reason. And it is awesome! They love, we love it, love to go the world around! The big cat of ours is super social. Always up and in there as soon as the doorbell rings. Checking them out and saying "Hey! Welcome home to me! I love you! love me too?" and my small cat often strikes for anything to hide under. Shes never aggressive. Just really scared. The one thing that Jackson thought me was how to communicate with my small cat. And talk she does. All the time. When i learned to talk to her i finally understood what she needed to want to come out. Now she observes strangers and after a while she decides to say Hi, like literary "Hi!" and if you answer her she'll pop a small head out. And as the conversation goes on she'll talk more and show more of her self. I love her to death and back but now i am so happy that she loves anyone i take home too. She loves it here without feeling that strangers are dangerous.
Meow (Thank you so much Jackson).
    Love from Sweden

I learn from and about cats all the time from my cat Lulu, she's a great communicator and a sweet and trusting friend, even though she has shredded the underneath part of the dining room chairs. We allow her this indulgence because she is otherwise perfect. Jackson rocks!

Jackson, thank you for your show and your advice. I have two rescues named Sammy and Sara I adopted almost seven years ago now. They are very social and comfortable with other cats but a human just has to look at them too long from across the room to send them scurrying under the bed in terror.
After all these years with my own work, I can now pet them easily and I feel they've been a great success story. I'm looking forward to taking what I've been learning from you to help bring them out of their shell even more, hopefully they can learn to accept strangers or go for a walk. Anyway, thank you.
