Had a friend convince me to go see these guys live. I considered their music to be more pop than rock. Holy shit, they tore it up. Those "pop" songs live make for some great rock N roll.

I like this. I mean.... this ain't .38 Special. It's Don Barnes and his .380 Vest Pocket Model. But they sound pretty good. And it's a heck of a lot better than the music of the Mighty .38 Special being dead. So yeah. I dig it.
this ain't 38 special. who allows 5 guys to use the name? 38 special has been over for several years. you gotta go back to the 80's and 90's to get the real 38 special. shame to go out and fool people out of their hard earned money for a bad cover band using your name.

My fav classic rock band is Grand Funk Railroad and since Mark Farner is not in the band the fans hard-line fans feel as you guys do too. It's kind of a pisser for GFR fans because the 3 original guys are all still alive and still can perform well.
Totally get where you're coming from... but for me .. I was born literally 2 months before strength in numbers was released so no way I could see my favorite era of them ... I'll be seeing them in May, I just hope to get to see Don Barnes doing his thing, apparently the keyboardist is also from that era last i checked, will be cool to hear the songs live with atleast 1 or 2 original members and atleast be able to imagine how kick ass they were back then... before they're all gone for good...

Tour De Force is my favorite album also. I always wished they would add See Me In Your Eyes to the set list of their shows.

I'd say they were more of a mix of Southern rock and pop.

Bobby Capps is a good vocalist but Max Carl is an awesome singer!
