How to crochet the magic ring

- In this video, you'll learn how to crochet a magic ring or magic loop. This is a great technique, as it lets you start a piece in the round with no hole in the middle, which is perfect for stuffing your toy with fiberfill. If you're new to crochet, it might take a few tries to get the magic ring right, so don't get frustrated. Just pay close attention to not just what your hook is doing, but also the magic loop itself - you need to keep it stable so that it doesn't twist, otherwise the magic part at the end (pulling on the yarn tail) won't work.

I want to crochet so bad and I have tried so many beginner videos but none of them were good but I finally got the hang of it with this one
Thank you SO MUCH, I'm 13 and a boy so I'm a little embarrassed to ask anyone for help with this but your tutorial helped me so much so thank you!
Hobbies and art know no age or gender! Do what makes you happy my friend!!! 😁
i’m 13 aswellll it’s so hard😭😭 keep up the workXD
im also a guy whos crocheting lol!!!! this stuff has no gender bro, keep goin at it
This reply section is the best I’ve ever seen
never be embarrassed!! i hope that it’s going well for you :D
You explain the magic ring better than the 7 others I have watched.
Thank you.
Out of all the videos I watched trying to figure this out yours actually helped me. Thank you so so much I was about to cry out of frustration before I found you!!!!
Thank you so much. This has been the only thing holding me back from crochet. Thank you for going so slow so I can see exactly what you did!
Thank you so much for posting this! I forgot my Woobles book at home. We’re on our way to see my Mother before she passes away. My crochet work is what keeps me sane at this point. 🩷💜🩷
I’m so sorry 😣
Im so sorry for ur situation😢
I’m so sorry for you.. but I know she’s proud of you and so am I❤❤
this was the only video that was honest about "easy'
I saw like 8 different tutorials and still couldn't get it right. You are a life saver
Same!
This is AMAZING! It is so helpful, I have tried so many other videos and none of them have worked except this one
This is the only video I was able to find that explained in such slow detail in every single step. I finally did it! Thank you!
I've been trying for MONTHS after watching DOZENS of other tutorial videos on the magic loops; this is the only one I have seen that is clear, easy to follow, AND got me a completed magic circle at the end of my first try. THANK YOU!!
This is really confusing for me, my yarn keeps folding and making a knot
SAAAAAAAMMMMMMMEEEEEEE
I managed to figure it out though, there’s a trick about it, you gotta do your stitches a certain way :)
@@evad1314 Nope that doesn’t work
@@Strawberryyyyyyyyy44 You don’t even know what I’m talking about :/
@@Strawberryyyyyyyyy44 I’m saying that I figured it out after a really long time, and that it’s tricky to get at first
ahhhh whenvi pull the thingy to make the circle at the end, umm it tangled an knots...
this is the best tutorial for the magic circle!!! I have seen so many others, they go too fast and too many steps. I am so glad I found this video! Thank you!
At first when I watched the youtube short of this I was struggling but now I can crochet confidently after seeing this video.
I've learned to crochet along with my 9 year old daughter! Thank you! My daughter and I would like to know how to tie a knot in the magic ring so that it won't come undone. The kits come with that knot after the magic ring and it is helpful if you misstep on the first few rounds.
yes!! i was wondering that too.
I tried a DIY kit...failed miserably...the yarn frays and just cannot be knitted after a few failed attempts. My prestarted loop also got frayed coz I couldn't do the other lines properly....very very difficult...Hats off to people who could pull this off
Watched it at .75 speed & it helped alot. The only other tutorial I found that helped was by crochet club. But this one was chefs kiss. Thank you
I got a pierre the penguin kit but the pre started piece seperated from the rest of the string
Im watching this but its really hard and frustrating 😢
It was so frustrating
This tutorial is a literal lifesaver! Thank you Woobles!
Thank you so much I've struggled since eight grade to get the magic circle thank you so so so much this helped me
i still can't figure out the loop part, at the very beginning, not clear at all, i'm left handed
You did this so slow it helped SO much! Thank you! I was super frustrated and watching your video made me FINALLY understand.
I love the woobles I've tried lots of other crochett tutorials but I just couldn't find any that are actually helfull. I will be using woobles from now on because of their amazing help.
This is the best video I’ve seen it helped me out a lot I’ve seen hundreds of videos as a begginer this helped tremendously
Thank you so much woobles learning these stitches from you guys is making crochet so much fun ❤🎉 i cant wait to learn more from you guys in the future
I love this pattern! Mine turned out huge, so I frogged up to 6.5" and freestyled to save the beautiful crown. I'm going to make this again with a much smaller hook and be sure to measure the crown so it is not more than 7".
Perfect!! This helped me so much. Thank you.
This video is the only one that could help me, thank you!
Great Vid! Easy to understand and excellent for beginners! Though if skipping wasn't a thing it would drive me mad as someone with even just the basics of crochet knowledge
This is the ONLY video I actually understand 😭🙏 thank you so much!
This is clear and helpful. However, one question: why do you use such a short tail? It doesn't look like it will be long enough to secure it by weaving in with a back-and-forth technique.
This was brilliant! So clear, slow and concise! Great instructions for a humble beginner!👍🤩
Why cant I tighten my magic loop? I pull the tail and it doesn’t work.
Agh I hate the magic circle! I've been crocheting since I was 10 and not I'm a lot older than that😜 but this is the one thing I won't do! I go out of my way to avoid anything that calls for it.... But your video on how to do it made it very very simple and I didn't feel like I wanted to pull my hair out lol thank you!
Thank you for posting this! I've made a couple of the beginner kits already, but I wanted to make another Nico with my own wool. Now that I've got a start, I can just follow the instructions again!...Hopefully. The wool I am using is much harder to tell where the stitches are... o.o"
Can you maybe do a simpler one? I still can’t get it.
Thank you so much! it's the best explanation that I found on YT!!
I LOVE U GUYS SO GOOD FOR BEGINERS JUST BOUHGT THE ADVENT CALENDER THX U HELPED. E SOOOOO MUCH
this is THE tutorial for me holy cow, i had been STRUGGLING for the last 3 days trying to figure this out and quitting out of frustration thank you 🫶🏻
The same thing is happening to me and I am glad to know this helps a lot of people
AFTER BUNCHES OF TRIAL AND ERROR, 15 MENTAL BREAKDOWNS, AND 17 TUTORIALS, THE WOOBLES HAVE TAUGHT ME. that earns a subscribe😼
Do you know where I can find a cute weasel crochet pattern?
Because of this video i actcually learnt how to make the magic ring
This is the easiest way I have seen so far. Thank you I’m so happy I found this video.
Thank you so much!! This is the tutorial that finally helped me figure out how to stitch into the magic ring after a few days of trying. When I was trying to follow other tutorials, I was missing how to hold the yarn for crocheting and was ending up with a big tangled loop because my yarn tension was all over the place. This video brought the magic back to my project :-)
I have been looking for a vid like this and this is the first that actually made sense 😊
SUCH A LIFE SAVIOUR OMG THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!
THANK YOU WOBBLES! This helped me make all the plushies I can imagine! I’m definitely going to get the penguin from y guys!
i just started crocheting 5 minutes ago, i learned how to do a basic stitch and now a magic ring by just trying once! thank u sm!
This is the FIRST tutorial that I actually achieved a magic loop. Hurray!
Am I the only one here because I bought my fist kit of Woobles however it didn't come with a pre-started piece ? bruh anyhow, took me a few tries but I got my hands on the magic loop. thank you
Mine came with a pre started piece, but I took it apart like two years ago because I had no idea what it was. Glad you figured it out though!
did u get a beginner one? cuz not all of them have it.
@@mayad-ie9fv yeah, it was the Fox one! Very disappointed!
@@alwayshungry4ever thats strange... it should come with a pre started one. did u write to customer service or smthing?
@@mayad-ie9fv yup! No feed back yet.. hopefully soon. I admit it’s not easy aha!
what kind of yarn is best to make a good magic ring for beginners?
I Love my daughter so much! She bought me these and I'm really trying to do this I promise I am😮😅
What if my yarn is feeling tight after yarning over and i can't insert the new loop into the two loops because the hole is too small and tight?
Also
What if when I'm about to yarn over the yarn is infront of my needle instead of behind it?
I always get so confuesed during watching these videos! I cant find a single one that helps. Its like no matter how slow they go i cant figure it out!😢😢😭😭😭😭
If you get confused on videos, you should find written instructions
I was trying so hard to close it and it wouldnt close i ended up tearing the yarn appart pls help 😭😭😭
Y'all, I'm such a fan. I've been crocheting for a long time and your videos and kits are so perfect for helping me teach new crocheters. I don't have the time but want to be supportive of them and your stuff is so freakin good. Please, please, keep up the good work! We sell your kits at the game store I work at and it's the wildest crossover, but it works so well ♥
What do I do with the tail when I’m done. Do I cut it?
Do not cut it. You have two options. If you are making a plush toy, there is a "right" and wrong" side. You'll want the tail to sit on the side where you see horizontal stitches throughout, and that side is the "inside" of the plush, thus also hiding the tail. The second option is to "weave" or tuck the tail into the existing stitches.
that hoorah sounded ironic but i literally gasped when i did it, thank you!
I have made so many magic loops effortlessly so far (thank you Woobles!!!) but I had ONE margarita tonight and all of a sudden I lost all ability to make a magic loop 🥲 I made 3 magic loops just today but noooo my Pierre only has one wing until I can figure it out again
This is the most awesome magic ring video! Thank you.
My yarn is undoing when I am at the yarn over
Okay but how many times do I need to crochet a single stitch so it’s enough? Thank you!
I am thinking the same
Okay so I learned normally it’s 6 but if it’s a bigger project it should be 10, I just did 6 and it kinda worked out, hope that helps :D
Great video!! Ty!!
How do I start the next row? Go under the 2 strands of the first crochet v? This would make 3 strands in my hook the start of the first sc of the next round?
So in crochet you don't count the strands you are going under. Think of the v strands as a hole instead. You put your hook in and yarn over and pull a loop out to join the loop already on your hook those become your 2 strands that you turn into a single crochet
After the magic ring then you can go back to the video of one of your amigurumi video tutorials and start over with it ? I accidentally undid the whole thing plus the magic ring
yupp you can. that's what i did. this is the exact starter piece that is displayed in the tutorial vids (6 stitches)
needed this. my magic loop came fully undone when i went to restart
Hey can someone please answer my question, how many single crochets does the Pierre the penguin have?I got the kit but there was not a pre started piece so I have to make it myself
6
Thank you
It feels like torture trying to make it, the feeling of the yarn around my pinky upsets me. I want to learn this but it is so difficult. I don't know how to help this. I can't focus with how uncomfortable it feels. Ima try and calm down and try again later. I'll make an update when I come back nd try again
Excellent tutorial! After trying to make sense of the Magic Circle in a few other tutorials, your tutorial took me the first try to understand how to position my hands, the needle and my yarn🥰. Thank you!
Tysm for doing this tutorial! This is why I bought the wobbles kit so that I can make cute little arigumi, and I bought pierce the penguin! I think people who want to crochet can buy this kit!
How many times did sue do that thingy
My kit didn’t come with the magic circle so idk what to do now
Same I think that they made this video for this problem
Thank you! I watched it through one time then watched it again with my crochet hook and yarn while following along and I got it first try. I don't have stitch markers but I used a safety pin and that did the trick
I don't have a problem creating the magic loop. My problem is that when I crochet into the magic loop, when I finish my stitches for the first round, and I pull it shut, it gets all knotted and the loop closes in on the stitches I just made. And I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Can someone help me with this please?
Do the magic circle, do the stitches you need and don't pull the tail yet. Start working on the second row, like the first 1 or 2 stitches. Then pull a little so it's a tighter circle but not sealed yet, then finish the row tightening as you go. It helps you not lose your stitches to the loop if you work in a row or 2 before tightening it up.
Actually love this
So easy for me and very clear 😂😂😂❤
when will the woobles ship to europe
I have been searching for years trying to find instructions that I could follow in making the magic circle. Finally you are the first instructor that I could understand! Thank you so very much for giving me this much needed information!
TYSM I'VE HAD SO MANY MENTAL BREAKDOWNS BECAUSE I COULDN'T DO IT GOOD JOB YOU'VE EARNED YOURSELF A FREE SUB!
BITCH I CANT DO IT IM CRYING AT MIDNIGHT OVER THIS SHIT WHYYY
What kind of yarn are you using?
I am not trying to say this is not teaching me anything but it keeps on falling apart once I think I have it..
This was the best demonstration I’ve seen
Please sell them all around the world ^^^^
Tysm for this tutorial this helped me a lot
thank you woobles, and know the negitive comments are wrong
I’ve watched TONS of vids and none have worked on how to do a magic ring. 😓
THANK YOOOUUU THIISS SAVED MMEEE
this is such a nice tutorial but the only problem is that my stupid yarn is just to stringy. i wish I had that kind of yarn
I accidently pulled it so the whole thing fell out on pierre,, watching this to fix it
That happed to me😂😂😂
watched a bunch of magic circle vids before this one w different techniques and not sure what i was doing wrong. but everytime i tried to pull the circle it wouldnt budge. this one worked perfectly so thank you!!!!!!!!!
I can't do it
My woobles kit didnt come with a pre started peice 😭😭😭😭😭
My yarn broke when I tried to get rid of the hole
What type of yarn is this please?
Easy peasy yarn by the woobles
yall i don’t get it how yall say this is easy. like lowkey this is the most confusing magic loop tutorial ive ever seen and ive seen lots trying to learn it as a kid
Can you tag me in a good one or tell me I’m so confused
This is NOT EASY i’ve seen 100’s of other tutorials that are better. This is complicated, not for beginners!
and i don't get how y'all are confused 😭 at least this video tells you how to find the first stitch. the first time i made a magic ring i was so confused where to put the sl st to end my row. the only thing different here is how this person holds the yarn, everything else is essentially the same as any other tutorial.
I’ve watched 100’s of these videos and this one makes the most sense to me. Maybe we all just learn differently? 😊

I had to do it like 100 times course I could not do it
This really helped me because I got Pierre the penguin kit which came without a pre-started piece so it helped me make it. I’m so proud of myself!
Me to
me too.
@@piratepinned yay someone else now did yours have no printing on the tape holders for the yarn

Anyone know what type of yarn she’s using? 🫶🏼
