Nice to see these old relics. F-units are really rare. The E & LS up in the UP of Michigan still has one all painted up and is currently out of service. They used it in regular freight service up until a couple years ago. Hope they get her fixed soon.
Just rode the Winter Excursion from Elkins to Tygart Junction along the Tygart River on this line. The WM F-Unit on one end and a C&0 F-Unit on the other end. Nice winter excursion.
Idea: Bring Back the Streamliner EMD E and F units. Sure, people may say that they are outdated, but if they run, They Run. In the end, They Look cool, and that's all that Truly matters about trains.
These shots are incredible. Just when you think there's no F units left in freight service.
Love to see that old iron still working
❤❤❤❤ I know it's not period correct for the power but that K5 is perfect! The exhaust chug is amazing as well!

How often do they run freight on the WVC? Do they run on specific days?

Yeah, things like profitability and emissions mean nothing to management. Good call 👍
If big boy steam engines are still around there has to be F units around somewhere because big boy parts are still being made
The sub titles are too short to read. They need more time.
Is this real for Freight service or the locomotive just pulling Empty Carriage?
Real

I think a few times a week, but I’m not sure if there’s any kind of real schedule.
