Tomorow will be a video breaking down Kraken's history, and how well they redesigned it. I've seen a lot players concerneed about it, or that are not aware of its history in Splatoon 1. I will also do my best to guess how strong it will be compared to the other specials, since unlike the new special, we know most of the info here.
I'm actually really glad Kraken is invincible. If it had HP I was sure it would be bad. But time will tell.

My only problem with the new special is there are more markers than the maximum amount of people in a team so it will be obvious to the enemies I think it will probably be a displacement tool like tentas and tristrike however it would be fun the jump in while this special was used so you could trick the enemy
I assume the logic is someone either super jumping amidst the special, or using the special where someone's jumping, to hide the real marker so they can jump safely when they might otherwise not have
I'd agree thats probably the idea, but I'm also of the opinion that the *vast* majority of teams won't have anywhere close to that level of coordination. In practice it's probably ending up as "bad killer wail/tenta missiles"
I agree ! They should have just stuck to 1-2 markers and not have been so obvious … or sometimes have it be 1 marked another time 2 etc not always like 6 which doesn’t even make sense 😂
Wouldn't it be hilarious if they let you Super Jump to your own Decoys? I know it won't happen, but just imagine the game-breaking flanks and Beakon trolling we could do!
Yeah along with this my main confusion is how anyone would get an effective use out of the decoy mechanic if you have to superjump to someone first. The decoys seem to land way to fast to have the time to plan where to superjump too.
I think autobomb on tri nouveau could reference the Seeker it had in Splatoon 1, which was somewhat split up into curling bomb and autobomb in Splatoon 2

Yeah, that was what I was thinking as well. I feel like it may be Auto bomb, Wave Breaker.
My friend who loves Tri Slosher just wants the kit to have a bomb and I let them know my prediction.
Clearly they are trying to hit us in our nostalgia feels like crazy with this update honestly and I LOVE it.
yeah i’m okay with any bomb tbh with wave breaker, it’ll be a nice change of pace and i’ll still use both kits bc i love grub
I love that they are adding new weapon kits, stages, and gear to the game. Though, anyone else here think they may add some new hairstyles too? I would love to see more hairstyles for the Octolings. Especially some hairstyles that are more on the short then long style.
We definitely need more hairstyles for both Inklings & Octolings.
A lot of the Inkling hairstyles are old & IMO don't look very good.
Meanwhile Octoling hairstyles seem to not have much variety & some look too similar.
I highly doubt we'll get a ton of new hairstyles, but I really hope we get at least really good new ones for both that are as universally appealing as possible.
Iirc new hairstyles were added as Splatoon 2 updated, so it wouldn't surprise me if we got more in 3.

With this special still being invincible, I do hope it gets something like Big Bubbler where it shrinks slowly in form factor when it takes damage. Just something to offset it, because HP specials are already very strong in this game, and this special could be downright broken with health that doesn't actually scale down. You were dead on though with this prediction, did not think Kraken would return personally, so hats off to you.

On chill season I gave the reason to all shooter kits being the holidays since a lot of new players would be getting the game, and all the splattershots (except nova but it launched on that season) and aerospray got kits, so I thought that the reason behind the shooter kits were the new people coming to the game so they gave some noob friendly weapons new options. But now with fresh season I think that it started to lean more towards Nintendo shooter bias itself

I’m extremely excited for fresh season, it’s adding so many things, more weapon kits (of course), more maps and of course 2 new specials!! (Well kinda new since the kraken is a returning special). Btw congratulations on 100k! You earned it!
The Super chump is a cool special and kind of remined me as a nod to Marinas hyper bombs from Octo Expansion. BUT what I'd really like to know is if you can launch yourself or a teammate along with the decoys. The special kind of reminds me of the ink rails around the map and the clear interior makes me thing you can hop in and get shot out of the special.
My splatoon 1 nostalgia has been all over the place with what Nintendo has been doing man, can’t wait for fresh season!
The super chump actually has a translation error. The bombs explode after a set period of time, OR they explode if enemies destroy it
I'm very much hoping that Range gets Kraken in the future, I don't even play Range but I'd love to see how much fun Chara would have with it.
I hope that vanilla or range blaster get Kraken at some point
If Intesify actually works on the special, blaster profits the most of it since the ability is already very good and important for that weapon

7:15 The Tri-Slosher Nouveau had Seeker in the first game, so I'm assuming the Autobomb could be somewhat emulating that. Both subs have the ability to follow an opponent within close range before exploding on them.
You know it's interesting to think that the upcoming specials tp the Fresh Season are mostly slimilar to Reefslider and Tenta Missles, which are the two specials that the community currently or previously disliked.
I mean people dont dislike reef and missiles in the same way. They dislike reef because it's terrible and undertuned and hate missiles because they're overpowered and disrupt the game by acting in a way that's different and more broken than any other mechanic in the entire game.
for the kraken im going to assume that the amount of time is around 8-10 seconds and the surge just ends your special once its done. They could also do this with the amount of times you jump as well. This is such a interesting special because its like a week reefslider , but lasts longer and has more control of a area. definatly a good way to go from splat 1s amazing mess of specials.
I wonder if Tacticooler will stack with Kraken? It could be a nice buff for TC if it does.

After overanalyzing a ton of footage, I want to point out that I don't think the Tri-Slosher Nouveaux is going to be getting Autobomb. As the full catalog has been revealed, we can see that one of the clothing items (specifically the shirt) that the inkling is wearing has one main ability of Ink Saver Sub, which means that the red line we see in the trailer is probably indicative of a sub that takes 60% of the ink tank, reduced to about 52% due to one main of Sub Saver. This would mean that it has either Fizzy Bomb, Ink Mine, Point Sensor, Splash Wall, or Sprinkler. Considering how blurry the footage is, it might even have Torpedo, which would take about 58% of the ink tank with one main of Sub Saver, however I think the line looks a lot closer to the 52%.
(For those wondering, I DID in fact go through the trailer for the last season to confirm that the abilities on the clothing were taken into account in whatever dev build they use for the trailers, and it turns out you can see the same thing happening for other weapons in the trailer for the Chill Season)

Two Missile weapons came back with their exact same set... but with Missiles replaced with Super Chump.
so missiles are getting the sting ray treatment of "we will never put this on another weapon", aren't they
oh boy i can't wait to play on manta and fight a crab on top-mid, which can shoot at every path into mid!
It would have been hilarious if Splashdown was still in the game with Super Chump. Imagine seeing one extra super chump land after the others fire and then the jump marker turned into a splashdown aoe.
Because the catalog was leaked, I found out that the shirt the Tri-Slosher was wearing has a main ability of Ink Saver(Sub), meaning Tri-Slosher COULD have a different sub weapon.
Bomb might be Splat Bomb or Fizzy if that’s the case
I can see them doing a new Weapon every other season and new Specials the seasons in between
Huffing major copium because my favorite hat, the camo mesh, seems to be replaced by the seaform and dustcloud caps but other than that
Some catalogue items are really intersting because band posters have also gotten abbreviated names so that's really interesting and on top of that, some of the emotes are also looking pretty interesting on top of the reppin inkopolis ones.

What's scary about Custom Jet is that, if the 60% tank is for Splash Wall, then they could bring back the Splash Wall Inkstrike set from 1 in the form of Splash Wall Tristrike and I'm NOT looking forward to that
Clash blaster will work pretty well with curling bomb. You use a curling bomb to swim in close and then kill them with close range attacks.
The thing is, clash is really bad and curling bomb is bad too, for clash to even stand a chance it needs at least a decent sub. A movement option really doesnt matter that much when it has a slower kill time than almost any other weapon in the game, it needs a lethal bomb for poking, or a burst bomb, or it could even benefit from toxic mist to make running away from it even more terrible

I wouldn't mind curling on clash if it had wail to cover its advance. Instead it gets a mix of tools that don't really support the main weapon.

Krak-on roller was the weapon I was most excited for way back when the splat 1 trailers were rolling in just because I loved Beakon and Kraken
I am so happy to be able to play it again, but I'd be even happier if for whatever reason they gave Wiper another rushdown special with kraken because I neeeeeed to play that special is just so fun!!
I'm a bit scared of kraken getting invincibility again... I'm afraid it's just going to be a counter to tri-strike since it was good at shredding crabs and bublers but without being week to crabs and bublers, which is a missed opportunity in my opinion since a special triangle would have been awesome, although the meta specials themselves would be the worst 4 specials in terms of design...

I think the reason why their bringing so many shooters to the game is because they want to get all of the shooters out of the way so that they can focus on the other weapon classes in the game later

I’m very worried if they aren’t giving it burst bomb… in my opinion that’s vital to the weapon. Torpedo would be “ok”, but nothing compares to burst :(

@@psychicjellyfish9466 Very true. It never asked for curling bomb. It kind of feels like the devs aren’t sure what to give the weapon so they often give it scraps….
@@chuchuraichu3329 Obviously Burst Bomb is the best bomb for L3 to have, but Torp is for sure the second best. For a mobile shooter like L3 that’s always a hair’s width away from killing, having a Torp to get that little extra bit of damage to tip the scales will do wonders for it.

Given that before the launch of the last season they didn't show every weapon in the promotional material and that we got thirteen weapons last season, I'm hoping that Gold Dynamo and New Squiffer are just waiting to get shadow dropped. I could just be huffing copium though

I almost wonder if the heavy shooter focus on the new kits is the devs treating them like a control group in a way with the new specials, if they're comfortable with NZAP putting the new super chump on it lets them get feedback without the main weapon coloring that as much
Manta Maria was one of my favourite S2 maps, and I might get a sub on my main now.

The N-ZAP '89 kit could be neat in spite of having Auto-bomb! God I hope they buff Auto-bomb. I'd argue that Sprinkler is a better sub in general and that it's a more reliable source of damage.
I'm happy to see a new Splat Roller kit, having just started playing with the base kit 2 days ago. Fingers crossed Swim Speed and IE works with Kraken!
.96 Gal Bedazzled looks the most interesting to me. I really enjoyed it in Salmon Run and hope that satisfaction carries over. Such a fun firing sound!
I hope the new desert map is way better than Brinewater "Battle for the Cube" Springs.
I don't care about Clash Blaster.
Sprinkler isn't better than auto bomb. Auto bomb is still a bomb and bombs are still the best subs in the game, you can detect enemies with it and it pretty cheap in ink compared to other bombs. It also paint better than sprinkler overall
@@91yugo77 agree. Bombs are great! And of all the bombs for a weapon to get paired with, why would anybody choose Auto-bomb? Especially with Torpedo, a better designed Auto-bomb, in the line-up.
I hope they buff it to allow remote, near-instant detonation when deployed. I'm tired of having my success rate with Auto-bomb be dictated exclusively by enemy players. I'd happily exchange having two active for that buff. A single player could have 10 active at a time and I'd still say the mediocre Sprinkler is the better choice. It is THAT awful.
