  • A conversation with Duncan Boak, CEO of Fifth Sense
In this conversation, we are pulling out some key themes about why it is so important to seek support.
5 reasons why seeking support after brain injury is so important:
    1. Educate - accepting your brain injury
    2. Relate - understanding your brain injury
    3. Community - shared experience
    4. Treatment - managing effects and symptoms
    5. Communication - emotional wellbeing
Duncan sustained a brain injury from a fall in 2005 and lost his sense of smell.
It took him over six years to fully understand the impact that this had on his life.
Almost twenty years on, Duncan shares his journey with us from his accident to present day, including establishing Fifth Sense, the charity for people affected by smell and taste disorders. He explains why it is so important to seek support after brain injury.
