Just installed new Hawk LTS brake pads onto my 3/4, 6.7 diesel pick up after maching the rotors. Drive up to 40 mph hit the brakes. Did that 6x. Then drove to 60 mph and then hit the brakes hard but not skidding and ABS. Did that 6x. I could smell burning brakes as they got nice and hot. Then drove home and let the rotors cool. Afterwards I looked at the rotors with a flashlight and saw a black film on the newly machined rotors. Yup, did it right.
I just changed my brake pads a few weeks ago and it's squeaking pretty loud right now. I think I need to give this a try. thanks for making this video.
Your description of transferring brake pad material to the rotor until it's smooth sure sounds like you are glazing the rotors and pads. What's the difference?
@@Autofreakgarage awesome thanks man. I just did the bedding process. The brakes feel amazing! I have DBA T2 with the redstuff. I was going for a very daily setup. It was my first brake job today! Feels amazing to hit the brakes and have it work and know that I put that together! Thanks again!
Just wondering, I am looking a putting on some EBC pads. Supposedly they have a break in coating and they should break in with normal driving. Do you think that's legit or would you think it's best to go through the break in process anyway??
Dont get EBC, they are Bad quality. I had a Set of Red stuff & Rotors completely Stop working on my honda civic Type R, almost crashed while braking into a Corner. Suddenly stopped working and eben i checked whats weint, the Disks had a blue tint to them. They we're Not very hot, so no overheating, idk what that was but ist very Bad. Had the Same system in my 2016 wrx sti and the steering wheel was shaking when i was breaking above 60mph! How i have dba Pads & Rotors on both Cars and its fine

Hey, I’m onto this video now. I thought you do this process after a hundred miles or so. You do this from brand new?
Right away. You have to bed the brake pad material onto the rotors so it wears properly.
@@Autofreakgarage same for ceramic pads?
Ebcs redstuff
Yes same process

I would still do the normal bedding process
I just ordered ebc yellow stuff for my wrx,,, how are you liking the ebc pads.

ebc yellow is really trash@@NYC-WRX
on an Sti why would you not go with 2 piece 5000s from DBA
I did when I went to the rotora bbk.
Where can I get a pair of these pads? I’ve been looking for both front and rear but find either or on different sites.
I got mine from knsbrakes
Are DBA rotors much better than oem Brembo rotors? There is such a price hike
probably same same
shipping may come into it
NICE!!!!!!👍🏻👍🏻
WHATS THE NAME OF THOSE WHEELS?
SORRY FIRST TIME ON YOUR CHANNEL .
Enkei rs05rr
How's the brake dust with those pads?
Way less than stock. They dust, but no where near oem.
