Singeing Udders

Trav takes some time to paint up another one of our tractor tires. Not an essential task, but something that makes the equipment look a bit nicer. Winters are a time we can catch up and doing some shop projects. The 2nd half of the video is singeing udders. This is a practice we do once to twice per year. It helps the cows prevent mastitis, keeps them cleaner, helps the teats remain more dry, keeps sematic cell count down etc. There's a variety of benefits to doing this practice. Although it looks a bit scary, it doesn't hurt the cows at all. Just a warm sensation to them that might be a bit of a surprise.

Yeah it's good to keep the hair undercontorl. We used clippers and got the tail and hips tried too

i would kick to if you did that to me, i understand why you do that. we used clippers to do the udders, it took longer.
