Rich, I repair camera lenses as a hobby and I use Pec Pads to clean lenses and delicate camera parts. They will not scratch plastic or glass parts. For a lens cleaner use Eclipse Lens Cleaner which I believe can be purchased as a "kit" with the Pec Pads. Leo should specify which cleaners are safe for Lasermatic 10 parts as alcohol(which may be in certain glass cleaners) will affect acrylic parts if used over a period. When in doubt use plain bottled water as a cleaner.
Very timely Rich. My Lasermatic 10 arrives next week and I was wondering to my self yesterday how to clean the lens. Once again, the Ambassador comes through!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I meant to tell you this morning that my daughter-in-law is originally from Metarie. She has introduced us Northerners to some amazing Southern cooking!
I've yet to have a question that your videos have not been able to help me with. I just did the first cleaning of my Roly 10/30 and you covered it so well. Thanks.
Rich will the way you cleaned the lens work for the tts-55? I am still waiting on the laptop to arrive to get really started, but I want to make sure on everything I need to do to keep it in good shape.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy some do THAT EVERYDAY after 10 to 12 hours of burning. Once a month? Maybe. Every 2 weeks, Maybe. Busy shop everyday. Should be more convenient. Lose the screws. Latches, magnets, . Just my opinion .
It can't be any easier. Again, this is a precision machine, so it's not a toy. I would rather take 15 min to clean it and have the precision over turning a thumb screw to remove it with no precision. Just my opinion. We can agree to disagree! 🤪
*Yeah, it's long, but there are a lot of tips and tricks throughout the video!*
This is such a great video. I never could figure out how to really clean my previous laser. Thanks Rich, for a very much needed tutorial!
Glad it was helpful Dave!
I use ROR (residual oil remover) made by V-VAX for my laser lenses. Also, I use it for cleaning my glasses etc. Can't get hold of Purity in the UK.
As long as it's abrasive free, you're good!

Agreed! Purity is a good abrasive free cleaner.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy i have 99% iso with lint free wipes is that ok?\

Awesome! Small world... I have some property up there in Abita Springs.

Great to hear Larry!
Thanks Rich I’m a new laser owner and this was extremely helpful. Happy New Year and keep up the great work.
Happy new year!
Good video Rich!
Thanks!
Great video! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Very much like this one. Thanks
Glad you like it! 👍
Thanks!
You bet! Thanks for the support! 👍
I noticed the fan turning when you moved the laser back and forth.
It will move on you too! 🤪 Most of the time it didn't. A little movement won't hurt anything, but too fast and... kaboom! 😜

Yes it will, any machine. If the lens cover is deep in the module, you can wrap the microfiber cloth around a Q-Tip.
At one point I think you said that Leo was upgrading the exhause fan. Is that true and if so, should we ask Leo for the upgrade?
No, that's on the next version when V1 sells out. You can remove the fan and use an in-line fan on V1 machines, but mine works just fine as is.
What is best practice for servicing the exhaust fan on the Lasermatic 10?
I just use a paintbrush.
Thanks, the exhaust fan is looking pretty sooted up.
Is the LAHobbyGuy Material Library availabe for the LaserMatic 10/20?
Not yet, but the 10-20-30W Combo will be available soon.
Thanks for the fast reply! Merry Christmas.@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
Same to you and yours Dave!
Hi I am not able to get that cut and layers colours at the bottom kindly show me where to set them in light burn

Awsome videos. When you test xtool p2 :)?
I don't test any xTool products.
may i send you my roly to clean? you did such a great job, i think i need a professional to do the work, pro bono , of course!!! 🤣🤣
Sure, why not?
Is windex considered non abrasive?
No, it has about six abrasive chemicals in it. I don't use Windex for anything.
I've been using an alcohol pad to clean the lens on my laser. Is that a bad idea?
Yep! Unless you're using 99% IPA and a microfiber cloth, you will damage the lens cover over time.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thanks Rich.
Lens cleaner from an optometrist, would that be ok?
As long as it's non-abrasive.
Should be more easy.
Really? It's very simple. It's a precision instrument on precision rails, so you would expect a bit more time would have to go into it.
