@@SamsAutoMaintenance 2020 XC90 T-6. The Haldex /GKN use the same fluid as the 2023 for as long as it's not the T-8 model. Also, I noticed there's no video on youtube about Fuel Filter replacement for 2016 - 2024 XC90. All the videos are Non-US model, which has the electric adapter that the US does not!
@@rontan8954 The part number for the Haledex Fluid for my 23 is different than prior years. Are you sure that the Fuel Filter is outside the tank for our model year. I haven’t seen any videos either which lead me to believe in may be in the tank for US models due to our emissions standards. If you find anything, please let me know.
@@SamsAutoMaintenance Thanks for the Haldex fluid info, according to FCP Euro, My 2020 uses the Volvo transmission fluid. It's very possible that it may be in the tank. The parts look different from non-US models.
@@SamsAutoMaintenance I can confirm that the US XC90 2020 fuel filter is not in the compartment under the driver carriage. There's a plastic cover with 2 torque head on it, but when you open it up, it's completely empty!

Either way is fine as long as you change the fluids during that time. Especially if you are planning on keeping your XC90 for a long time. Let me know if you have any questions.
@@davemiller3027 Sorry man! I’m in NC. To far. The front and rear diff is pretty easy to do. The Haldex pump top bolt may give you a little trouble. Take your time. You can do it.
Correction on Fill/Drain Plug on Front/Rear Differential. I went back and just hand tighten the plugs instead of torquing it to 15 ft lbs as I mentioned in the video.
Just found out the Haldex is not part of routine Volvo maintenance when you go for oil changes. I went back and checked all my invoices to 2016 and they've never done it. It's supposed to be done every 40k miles. I'll be doing it myself ASAP... hopefully the pump isn't damaged.
@@akaspick your Haldex , front and rear differential fluid and transmission fluid are not part of the general maintenance from my understanding. You might be ok unless you are having issues. How many miles do you have on your Volvo?
@@SamsAutoMaintenance I've already received a "AWD service required" type message that popped up once, but hasn't appeared again... I think it's a warning sign the fluid at least needs a change. I have over 90k miles.
@@akaspick I would definitely change the fluid. I have read people replacing the whole haldex pump unit due to failure. I think they run about $300 new. I think you maybe ok with your current one. When you take the pump unit off, just inspect it and clean the screen filter really good. Hopefully that would eliminate the warning light.
The car was not put straight. The front is looser than the back. AWD system did not receive enough oil. Next time, change the Haldex gaskets and all the screws on the gearbox.
The front and rear differential drain/fill plug were the same tightness on my car. How do you know I didn’t put enough oil in my AWD system? The screws and O-rings/gasket were in good condition and didn’t feel I needed to replace them. I currently do not have any leaks from them system. I do plan on replacing them at 60,000 miles change.
@@SamsAutoMaintenance It's good to measure how much oil you take out and how much you put in. The car must sit straight at the thresholds, not in line with the wheels.Check with a spirit level placed on the threshold( Volvo logo).
@@PisaPis-bc9up I agree that it is good practice to measure the amount of fluid you take out. My Volvo was not perfectly level, but was close. I did take notice on how much fluid came out of the system and I’m confident that the AWD system has enough fluid.
