    Wow guys, definitely a big step forward! And about the trance fluid. If there is metal in the trans, It's on the magnets now. I believe there are 4 magnets in this type of transmission. So You have to take the pan of and check the magnets! Btw, so you have to tow an E... with it, hahaha ;-). Dutch regards, Nico.

    My 4.6 used to thump from 2nd to 1st when pulling up at lights.
    The motor runs at by memory at 112deg c. And because the tranny cooler goes thru the radiator it heats the tyranny. Bmw use the 112 deg thermostat for pollution reasons. REMIDY.
    PURCHASED A 80 Deg thermostat from Europe came with adapter kit app $200. Worked great motor runs cool tyranny runs cool doesn't thump any more 2nd to 1st. And won't destroy all the plastics on motor because of less heat.
    Engine oil temp runs cooler never over100deg.
    Normally app 80 to 90 deg .
    Great mod
    P runs

    Not sure my OCD likes the idea of retaing the factory cooler as you are essentially going to be bleeding off engine coolant heat also. But I doubt it'll run cold in QLD and or while towing.

    A cool solution, which also makes a huge difference in general, would be to replace the original 105 degree engine thermostat with an 85 degree one.

    So is the transmission heated up by the coolant? Why does it get so hot?

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think a lot of the heat just comes from being bolted to the engine. If the trans did no work. Eventually the heat from the motor, will heat soak in to the trans.

Don’t bother with the headlight restore kits or sanding. The Mothers is some sort of magic stuff on headlights!!

    My car is in Nigeria where it never gets bellow 25°C my trans is at a constant 180°F I took the thermostat out today hoping that would drop the temp. but it made hardly any difference temps are at 165°F what could be causing these high temps. ? transmission shifts strangly, it shifts from 2nd to 5th gear if you try to pull away lightly causing the car to slow down and will only downshift if you prod the throttle sharply. What could be the issue?

    If my trans cooler pulls out of place due to radiator explosion I think it hit trans cooler and since then finding it hard to keep it pushed in place . I do see o ring on top and 1 on bottom of cooler but hard time pushing it in place can you give advice. And when cooler comes apart does it cause trans fluid to become low ?
