Post Frame Shed Build: Start to Finish

  • Come along as I build a 10'x20' post frame machine shed for my tractor implements. This video will cover the build from start to finish. #diybuild #postframe #storageshed

    Materials used:
    Back posts: Treated 4" x 4" x 10' set 42 inches below grade (3 posts 10' apart)
    Front posts: Treated 4" x 4" x 12' set 42 inches below grade (3 posts 10' apart)
    Carriers (front & back): 2" x 10" x 10' plus a 2"x4"x10' doubled up at the tops.
    Rafters will be 2"x 6"x 12' - 4' oc.
    Roof Perlin's: 2"x 4"x 10' & 12'
    Wall Girts: 2" x 4" x 10'

    Nice build.
    I dont ever go farther apart on my rafters than 24" on center.
    Have you done many buildings like this with 36" on center, or whatever spacing you were using for the rafters?
    It looks great with the rough sawn boards for siding. I really need to get my sawmill going soon and cut some wood! I miss cutting boards with my dad

      The rafters are 4' on center and the perlins on top are 24" on center. That's common in post Frame construction.
