    1) Choose today, not tomorrow (live in the present)
    2) Treat the body rigorously (work out, eat healthy, show your body who's boss)
    3) Focus on what you *can* control (stop wasting energy, not even a second, on things that have nothing to do with you)
    4) Don't seek revenge (being unlike the person who caused you the injury is, ironically, the best revenge)
    5) It's never too late to try again (keep getting back up, stick to your plans/goals regardless. Everyone makes mistakes)
    6) Avoid false friendships (there's nothing worse than a bad friend. Better to have no friends than false ones)
    7) The obstacle is the way (The very things you think are blocking you from your goals can be converted into the very pathways of those goals)
    8) Cherish your loved ones (the ones close to you are not here forever, they're on loan)
    9) Listen more than you talk (humility is the key to learning and becoming a better/wiser/stronger/smarter person)
    10) You need to care about others (what affects anyone affects everyone, including you)

Father is battling cancer. I'm doing the best I can to help him, We don't have a lot of money or people that will help us speed his treatment. It breaks me down from time to time. But I know my father, he is a strong willed person and he will overcome this. And I will do everything to be a good son . All I've ever wanted was to be a good son to him.Dta, I hope you'll be proud of me when we're done, because I'm proud to be your son . Throughout your life, you have shown what a man is capable of. I love you a lot .

Stoicism reminds us that the key to a better life lies not in controlling external circumstances, but in mastering our own minds and choosing how we react to them. Focus on what's within your control and let go of what isn't.

Thank you for sharing these insightful stoic quotes, Ryan! As a member of the Stoic community, I appreciate the reminder to focus on what's within our control and to treat our bodies with rigor to strengthen our minds. It's refreshing to see philosophy being applied to real-life situations, especially in today's world where we can easily get caught up in things that are out of our control. I also appreciate the emphasis on caring for other human beings and the common good, which is something we can all strive towards. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to more stoic wisdom from you! 🙌 #stoicism #motivation #philosophy

But yet I find myself constantly coming back often to listen to these while I'm working out or just have some personal time where I'm just chilling and wanna think about life. It's a nice constant reminder of the virtues that I try to uphold daily.

Hey, love your stuff bud, however, just a real nit-pick here. You said "Special Forces" then showed a video of Marine/Navy personnel. Special Forces is a very specific unit in the Army. Their nickname being "The Green Berets". I know its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but having been in 7th Special Force Group I really want to eliminate the misnomer. The general term for Navy Seals, Marine Recon, Airborne Rangers, Special Forces, etc. is "Special Operations." That would be a more appropriate term. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
