- In todays video I review my 2005 Mercedes Benz C55 AMG W203. We look at the exterior, interior, driving dynamics and reliability. This M113 NA V8 powered little C Class AMG has been a joy to own and drive and will continue to be a part of my AMG stable for a long time. Thanks for watching! I should also mention that this car does have a Eurocharged tune.

'05 C55 owner here. I also swapped my grill for early CLK. Yours is facelifted CLK. Difference is four vs. three horizontal bars. I kept my hood star.
I have a 1999 E55, 2002 E55 and a 2005 C55. Love them all but the C55 is still me favourite car to get out on the road.

Previous owner got them, I am pretty sure Ebay. I seem to remember seeing set on there.

I bought a guys project 2006 c55 114k miles for 7K.. Notable repairs are rear main seal, conductor plate, TCC/PWM solenoid, headliner replace and CPS. electronic/accessory components are also very strange with these. Other than biting your wallet, this car brings so much joy when you drive it and I dont plan on selling it ever. I'll send some pics. cant wait to see what you do with yours!
Awesome, that sounds like you got a deal.! Yeah I just started having trans issues when it has gotten cold, better when warmed up, 1-2 jerk so going to replace the TCC solenoid and conductor plate while I am in there. I did get an email, I presume from you, car looks and sound great! My exhaust is pretty similar, but also has no front cats, PO removed them but I like the sound. This past weekend I just replaced starter, power steering reservoir, dogbone connector for steering wheel up/down tilt motor, front lower control arms, valve cover gasket and am about to pull passenger rocker arm off to replace lifters and see if it fixes my tick/tap noise, fingers crossed, just waiting on timing tool to arrive. Thankfully motors mounts were good and I didn't have to remove exhaust to do starter since no front cats, just motor mount. Oh and also bought a used set of genuine AMG floormats so got those cleaned up. Busy, busy.
@@BaldManMotors Maybe you should repair your front bumper? What an eyesore to look at. If you are going to buy this type of car, a nice robust budget is needed to restore such a car otherwise why own it?
@@richardkleinberger7031 What a shallow comment you've made. I agree it does need fixing but no, a robust budget is not needed, many people like myself who owns a few of these older AMGs require time to fix everything AND time to make the money. For this C55, fixing engine lifters, starter, seals and internal transmission issues (filmed and posted on this channel) has taken priority over cosmetics. I don't own these cars to temporarily please stranger's eyeballs like yourself. I own them for the personal project, joy of driving and long term appreciating value. I love to film and this is why I have this channel, along with sharing with enthusiasts the journey of ownership and repairs. I do invite you to watch more of my videos where I repair more important things first, eventually cosmetics will be fixed. Cheers!
For those who planning to spend less money on gasoline, i drive mine with 100% of ethanol without any modification and it works very well. I just put some additive with the ethanol to start better when it is cold ❄

I copped a c55 amg for 18k about a month ago. Couldn't have been happier switching back to German, let alone an AMG. I had a $3,000 vw golf and it took a shit on me after 3 weeks of driving before and told myself I'd never go German again. Bought a $2,000 Acura integra and it ran for over a year until I sold it for my down payment. Loved that car but the exhaust leak in the cabin was not it. Never looking back now 😊

@@BaldManMotors thank you! I did extensive research on the reliability and it hasn't given me an issue that costed me over $20. I was curious on what you recommend as far as reliable and fairly cost efficient mods. Mainly looking for a tune now but other recommendations are appreciated
Keen on a c32 or e55 wagon. Moving to Germany next month so maybe it's time.
@spring6meow Oh both of those would be so cool. I lived there a couple of years, great time, I also would recommend a BMW E36 M3 since they got the high output engine, but no wagon I suppose. Enjoy the autobahn :)
