Everyone that says "check compression" are the same ones that will say "you dont need to run premium" when a car say to run premium. The car companies dont benefit from you using premium but they do benefit from you causing a knock that blows up your engine and then needing a new car because your cars toast after that.

What did you do to make your AMG sound so good. I have a 2001 E55 with 220,000 miles. Runs like new.
I'd love to get those floor mats for my own E55. My all time favorite Merc is the CLK GTR.
I have a problem that it has rough idle and it pops a little when warming up. New spark plugs, new wiring to the coil packs. Your video gave ma an idea of what can I check next.

My e55 w210 has a slightly rough idle, but runs smoothly in every situation above idle.
I will one day track it down, but no doubt I will go down many dead ends before I find the solution.
I always change o ring when I change spark plugs. $20 is cheap insurance for a set

Looking to buy a ML55 with a misfire so trying to gather as much info I can to be ready. Seems like these engines are quite reliable and strong so I am not too worried of replacing the entire engine

Favorite Mercedes of all time is the SL 300 Gullwing. I would also like to add the CLK DTM (one recently sold actually), and it’s close cousin the CLK63 Black Series

My 2003 S55 is doing the same thing. Really riding rough soon as I decelerate and get low RPMs and idle. You can feel
The engine jolting and shaking, really rough idle! Soon as I get over 1200-1300 rpm’s it really goes away. Don’t notice anything at higher rpm than that.
It’s intermittent too.

@Dylan Salfer I hope you find your issue soon, hopefully its just a vacuum leak or perhaps a something like bad MAP sensor. Correct me if I'm wrong but thinking the 2003 S55 doesn't have a MAF right? I also like to run some injector cleaner as well. Sometimes some fresh spark plugs or coils can help too and of course bad motor mounts don't help idle either. Best of luck🤙

I would love the mats. I just bought a w210 e55 last week and your videos have been very helpful. The e55 is up there but I really like the 1999 c43. All time though has to the the clk gtr.
@Donny Winslow Glad to hear it and congratulations on your new to you AMG! Ohh how could I forget about CLK GTR , I was at SLS Coupe Black Series or 300SL but the CLK GTR is just so cool. Also want to get a W202 C43 for myself someday as well.
@@BaldManMotors those W202s are starting to climb in value. I wonder how long until the w210 does the same.
@Donny Winslow They sure have and also I think the W210 is certainly been in the upswing as I bought mine in 2018 for $2800 (rock bottom I think) so here in a few more years I think it will get to new highs, perhaps need the W211 to start raising up for people to realize they are too late for the W210 E55s thus making them rise sharply. I have seen several sell for some pretty high prices already though.

I have a 2001 E55 AMG and I've noticed dead spots in my throttle. I hooked up a code reader which showed the TP sensor and found three dead spots when pushing the throttle down with the car off. I bought a new throttle position sensor and that didn't fix the issue. I replaced the throttle body from a Pick-A-Part place and still the same issue. Have you ever experienced that and if so what was the cause? Funny thing is taking a right from a stop held the throttle down at a quarter it fixed itself and it got a second gear scratch. Please help.
It's a known fact that bolts back themselves out over time from vibration requiring re torque.
Another thing u may want to watch out is the TPS. My e55 was misiring at high rpm or when i did a hard pull and also had to shut it off then on to get it running good again. I replaced the tps and voila it runs perfect now 😁

Hi there are you able to elaborate, I have a 2006 clk500, m113 it’s had everything checked, spark, fuel, compression and it has a rough idle and above 4000rpm misfires and says cylinder 3 misfire on the code reader. Everything’s been checked as working and fine do not sure

Hey having a similar problem with my 2000 e55, really an unnoticeable misfire when doing hard pulls, only reason I knew what it was is through the code it threw. Replaced the coils and it’s still doing it. This sound a bit like what you went through?

Hi there, thanks, it has no muffler or resonator xpipe and straight pipe catback. It does still have all original cats. I have a video on my channel for the creation/install of this exhaust on my car. 👍

What were your specific symptoms you had with the worn out conductor plate?
@John Hall It was having trouble shifting, slow to shift then a harder shift at non-normal intervals so each acceleration was a new experience of sorts and then eventually locked in to 2nd gear limp mode. The speed sensor on the center of the conductor plate is the culprit usually with these. It got worse withing about 1-200 miles and went into limp mode. Some people just start the car once day and the issue is there as well. Hope that helps.
The mats would be amazing but sadly I'm in Europe. Would be interesting to know if the original mats in my car (which I don't have) had the green edges to match the seats? I've heard there's at least 3 different colored edges for these mats, red, blue and white/silver? However my favorite Merc is a tie between the SLR Mclaren Mercedes & 300 SL Gullwing. Interestingly the SLR had the M155 engine which started out as M113. :)
@JK-AUTO Does your seats say designo on them? Green is a bit unusual interior color, I have also seen brown edged W210 mats that say designo instead of MB or AMG for the light brown nappa leather seats. Just curious since you have a rare color perhaps you have designo options? Yeah the McLaren SLR sounds amazing and is great to have related engines :)
@@BaldManMotors Thanks for the reply! It doesn't say Designo on mine. The code for the interior is LEATHER EMERALD (586A). I think I might be able to find some pics online for you and of course still trying to get my lazy ass to the car and remind myself to take the pics haha.
@JK-AUTO Haha well when you can I'd love to see them. thembmarket.com/2000-mercedes-benz-e320-designo-silver-edition has green mats with designo so I guess they had the thread :) I would think you had green of some sort but just a guess. Either way I think white/silver and black would look good too in your car as well.

Hey how’s the transmission been doing for the E55 lately? I remember in a previous video that you were a little concerned about a brief hiccup it may have had.
@Joe Demid So far so good, it's been about 500 miles since it seemed to mess up, idk it seems okay at least for now. Keeping an eye on her but plenty of full sends and seems to be holding up. Thanks for asking👍

Hi my E55AMG 2001 Engine starts misfiring on RPM 3.5 & will continue misfiring until i restart the engine can someone help FYI i chaned spark plug & Ignition coils Fuel injectors fuel pump & fuel filter

Hi, my 02 e55 idles a bit shaky but runs perfectly fine, no misfire code, no engine related code whatsoever, can that be the same case? Or de-cat and de-resonate make my car idle rough?
@Gary Zhang I have found a few things can help rough Idle. Of course any vacuum leaks can cause it bit I noticed smoother idle after cleaning/replacing MAF, spark plugs, engine/trans mounts and even using good engine oil smoothed it a bit.
@@BaldManMotors Hi, thanks for your suggestions, so in past two weeks I did all those, but without success (they need to be change whatsoever), at the end I remove the injectors and one of them (cylinder 2) is leaking fuel into engine, by replacing it, the problem is now fixed. I also change those seal as seems they never been changed before
Just a bit update for people probably have the same issue. The problem turns out to be two bad coil that cause partially misfire (one connector is fine, the other one have some sort of corrosion inside, and I use engine smoothness running meter to find that since there is no actual misfire) and the oily KN filter make my MAF sensor dirty. So after change a new MAF and a set of Bosch coil pack and a set of clean air filter, it back to normal
Just recently this week October 2, 2023. Our 1999 Mercedes e55 AMG service light came on.!. I took it to my friends smog shop to get a code reading and it came back with. P0300, P0115, P0302, &, P0130. Which are a simple job I hope.?. If you don’t mind.?. What do you suggest.???. Rey from San Fernando Valley. California.
Hi Rey, I would start by swapping cylinder # 2 coils and plugs with another and see if it moves. Bad fuel? Vacuum leak can wreak havoc as well. Has it been idling rough?
@@BaldManMotors, Yes a little. It’s my wife car. She tells me the light goes on and off when she drives it. I already changed both oxygen sensors on the muffler’s. I’ll do that to see if there’s a difference. I mostly drive Classic car’s like Chevy’s, Fords, Chrysler’s, Dodge’s &, Pontiac.!. Which are all Lowrider and Lowrods. Thanks for your feedback. Our Mercedes is actually like yours. Same color.

I'm at the end of my rope. My car has a random cylinder 2 misfire. I've gone through the check list (plugs, wires, coils, injectors and injectors seals) still can't figure out why randomly it had this issue. It shakes are lower rpm's
Curious if you have any other codes or have done a compression test on that cyl? Sounds like a vacuum leak possibly. Has the MAF been cleaned? How is the condition of the coil & injector power wires?

I have replaced the plugs, coils and wires. I replaced the MAF with OEM Bosch unit. I have also replaced the rubber vent vacuum pipes and the air intake tube and gasket.
