After checking all the prices and the feature these wheels have and all the accuracy they can deliver, I have come to a conclusion that I'll buy a car instead.
Trust me... IRL racing will be Hella more expensive in the long run. 20k Sim Rig vs 10k Miata 1 yr running cost: 300/mo Track Days 3000 Gas/Oil/tires/fluids/pads 1000 "Oh Shit" Fund Sim: 400 Electricity
Wow, imagine being sponsored by one of the best and most expensive racing sim wheels out there yet still being impartial, fully factual, and not trying to push us into the higher categories. much respect!

I'm sad that the T-GT is no longer available. Like at all. It's discontinued. You can find it used for like 800-900 bucks.... and i'm sad about all this cause i was looking to buy it
@@HarlesBently I'm not sure if it's actually "Discontinued".... I'll contact my Thrustmaster Representatives, but I'm guessing it's more likely going to be something about COVID-19 or something like that reducing production.
@@Simracingpaddock well it isnt listed on most of their distributors anymore and hasnt been for at least a few months. Not sure when it stopped being sold. Currently i have the t300rs gt edition but it doesnt like gtsport too much. Ghost button hits all the time and thrustmaster refused my warranty 6 months ago. Ghost hits do not happen in other games mind you.
You said about the Fanatec CSL Elite pedals that the difference in price is 2 or 3 pedals. I think the big difference is the Loadcell on the brake pedal. But i get it is all about the wheels ;)
You should perhaps watch the sim related content like Forza etc. I actually create some and the engine sound and graphics are amazing th-cam.com/video/YK6Jzb8n59k/w-d-xo.html
I ride on Series X and am completely satisfied with the Logitech G920! Yes, the gear technology is relatively noisy, but there is a simple solution to make it almost completely silent. If you have some manual skills, you can do the conversion for 1€ in just under half an hour (Warning!!! Warranty expires) Unscrew the steering wheel, remove both motors and you get to the gear rail. Degrease cleanly and stick a thin layer of felt (similar to chair gliders) to the bottom of the running surface. Then grease everything well (including the felt layer), assemble everything and almost not hear it anymore. Quieter than the rumble effect of a controller. Because it is not the gears that make the noise, but the play of the rack on the sliding surface. Works for me now more than 2000 hours without problems. Even in continuous use of uninterrupted 12 hours. Can of course also be used on the G29... To do this, of course, remove the rubber stopper in the brake and if you want it to be even more realistic, close the air outlet hole in the lower sleeve with a screw and hot glue. Insert a thin round rubber seal into the milling of this sleeve and grease it well. Put everything back together and you will be amazed. Due to this conversion, the air in the sleeve cannot escape and the harder the pedal is pressed, the more it is compressed. It's not rocket science and both conversions present you with a better driving experience.👋 Of course I left you a subscription
Damn, I've sold my G27 a couple of months ago and still miss it. I'm planning on buying the CSL once I finish high school and I hope Sony/Microsoft won't come up with some bullshit excuse to block backwards compatibility with the next-gen consoles
@@matteohenry6501 I already have a PC. The problem is that I want to play the first Horizon again with a decent wheel. So I'll probably buy the original One X if the next gen disappoints

@@thegallantracer5217 Me too, even though i would never buy those. I'm gonna just buy a wheel and a shifter (don't judge me, but gonna buy a Logitech G29 with its shifter)
@@polyphonydigital no judgement here. I used it's great grandfather, the driving force gt for 10 years before it broke, worked great. and I just upgraded from the logitech g shifter to a fanatec shifter since my logitech shifter is selecting the wrong gears again. Getting tired of fixing it, so I'm upgrading. I'm sure itll be a great wheel for you.
I bought a G29 3 1/2 years ago and it's still going strong. Daily use with league racing. I did have to spray contact cleaner into the throttle pedal pot for spiking. All's good. The next wheel is undecided yet.
I've driven industry DD wheels (Volvo and Williams F1) and also driven on track and honestly I can guarantee that a gear driven wheel such as the G29 is already enough to experience great sim-racing. There's no need to go higher unless you really want to get closer and closer to perfection.
I appreciate your experience. I'm trying to get into sim racing and get my first wheel that was realistic and comparable enough to real driving, and wasn't sure what would get me there without breaking the bank.
Just started getting into sim racing here’s what I did: Got the Logitech g920 wheel and pedals for £150 from amazon (half price), I attached it to my standard height desk from ikea and put the pedals against the wall and it worked great. Once I started getting into it I wanted to go further so I bought a Playseat Challenge from eBay for around £70 (usually over £200), it’s a folding deckchair like racing seat with tonnes of manoeuvrability and stability. It is also compatible with pretty much every mainstream wheel and pedal set up. Next I bought the Logitech shifter from amazon for around £25 and then bought a standard microphone bracket from eBay for about £10 to attach it to the chair, playseat offer a mount but it is about £30 which I though was far too expensive. Best thing to do is check second hand markets like eBay, gumtree and even Facebook, my whole set up is worth at least £600 if it was bought new but I got all of it for around £250 by doing this. As for sim racing, this goes for all platforms, assetto corsa and project cars are good to start on, if you have a pc you can try iRacing and mods for project cars (which make the game even better). I would not recommend buying a wheel to use on forza but it is definitely worth is for project cars and assetto corsa. If you enjoy sim racing I would highly recommend starting out with something like this.
I recently started taking an interest in sim racing after spending years in the world of flight sims. I'm really loving using my hp reverb VR headset to add that extra level of immersion but right now I'm just using a very old logitech ex driving force wheel donated by my friend and have been contemplating taking the plunge and buying a decent wheel /pedal set. This video was really informative and helpful so thank you!
Fantastic review, that I found very informative. As a long term motor sports fanatic, the cancellation of the Australia F1 GP due to COVID-19 and the subsequent cancellation of all the international and national series I follow and a nightmare. At least I thought it was, until the first e-sports race with current and former drivers from just about every series and country. A few weeks later on, I am hooked and am now addicted to e-sports racing, especially by sim professionals. It has renewed my interest in play a game on my PC for the 1st since 1990 (other than solitaire of course). So you review game is very timely (which is also probably why you have dropped the update). As much as I like to spend for the wheels and peddles in $350 to $500 bracket (let alone above) the challenge is that in a country like Australia, where we are currently around 66 cents US for every Aussie Dollar, even the Logitech G29 RRP is $5000, although is available from some retailers for around $400. The Thrustmaster options, unfortunately are priced even higher. So Logitech G29 it is then. Just got to workout how I get that in the house unseen! Mind you I did manage a 32" LED Monitor once, so you never know....
I really miss you Will. There were a couple of months where we had reconnected during a time that was really rough for me, and you had suggested we spend some time racing together. I kept putting it off, because I hadn't been sim racing for quite some time at that point. I'll never get those months back, and every day I wish that I had spent them with you while I still had the chance.
G29 all day long. You can use the shifter as a handbrake (mapped to 4th) with paddles for shifting. Or, manual H pattern + clutch and a paddle for the handbrake. Replace 2 screws, attach an O-ring and you've got a sequential shifter. All for under £200 Also the wheel is top quality, comfy and has never over heated. Even with prolonged daily use.

I've had my g29 for years now and it's still going strong, that and the play seat challenge to go with it is a very good entry level setup for under 500 dollars. There's actually an even better foldable seat now but can't remember who makes it.
I'm considering getting a new g29 for myself as well. Is it loud / gear crackling sound or anything like that after all these years ? And how about pedals ?
@@NeilGR I have a Logitech momo from 2005 it has ffb and I’m wondering if it’s even worth the upgrade I have been sim racing for almost 2 years now so I know I want to stay but a g29 is about as much as I’m willing to spend as I want to buy asset to corsa soon
Ditto but i use G27 and Momo Force Red Steel Leather before that years ago ... the G27 is perfect just make sure its the only device because it is fussy if my flight stick is plugged in at same time so make sure only one usb device connected and its still perfect however i do have 35 years simulator and hardware experience so i may sound biased for logitech products but i assure you there is a reason i make love to my logitech devices inside the metaverse. Good luck with the T300. Their reliability has been very hit and miss over the last several years. I had 2 die on me within a year. Bought a Fanatec CSl Elite and couldn't be happier.
@@candycabngfl I've heard that so many times, its not even funny anymore, but there is just as many opinions that say it works perfectly. After 25 hours with it, I am absolutely satisfied.
5:33 - For those that aren't familar with this "wheel" - it is NOT a wheel. It is a modified xbox controller. How do I know? It's what I'm using... and yes, you can 'race' with it. Competitive, you could but not really. But if you are under a budget, do I recommend it? Yes! But remembee, you get what you paid more. No force feedback, limited degrees pf rotation and a whole lot more but for anything casual, no problems at all.
I use that Thrusmaster wheel he showed with the ferrari symbol... I don't really have a problem. What I don't like is the buttons during the race... It is impossible to select pit strategies, etc. during the race.
A Logitech MOMO Black was my first Force Feedback wheel I ever used! I have a lot of great memories of racing in NASCAR Sim Racing and rFactor 1 with it :D
I got a Logitech G920 a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. Force feedback always works great, and now that we're in quarantine I use it almost every day (sometimes too much at once, I'll admit). That said, it has never overheated, and almost never has any connecting issues. The break pedal "problem" doesn't bother me that much because after a while you just get used to it, and after some use it does start to break in a little. I have also heard great things about long-term reliability with the G920 and Logitech products in general. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who was looking into a sim wheel. (Also recommend buying on Best Buy, cheaper than buying straight from Logitech or Amazon.)
I just bought the Thrustmaster TX Racing Ferrari 458 package for 229€. Everything else is also more expensive here. Since only the TX Base would have cost 250€+ im going for the plastic ferrari wheel but it's upgradeable for a really good price! Just keep looking for good deals! Something will come your way!
Yeah, coronavirus is hiking the prices of every wheel since there is enough supply, I snatched a TX with an F1 rim and C3PA pedals just before the prices went way up
Why doesn't anybody know about the thrustmaster t150????? Its super good tbh. 900°, great build quality, forcefedback etc . The good part is that it still goes for under 200€/£/$
i have a G27 connected to my pc and still going strong, i use it everyday, Great wheel, im lowkey waiting for something to happen to it to buy a newer generation of wheels when the PS5 comes out hahhah
Indeed. The author is ignorant. The act came out in 99 and I have the early release. Only got rid of it because they were not supporting it with drivers anymore. Modular hardware interface check. Write drivers for new operating system versions , nah.
My first wheel was a Logitech Driving Force GT I got for £35 used, in great condition. I now own a G29 with no regrets! Though, credit to the DFGT, it was a champ for such a cheap price.
I got a TMX wheel for around £139/$170 a couple of years back. Good button layout, nice paddle shifters and for a casual sim racer it is just a nice wheel. The pedal set is a bit basic, but work OK for me, and at least I know I can buy the T3PA pedals on their own and replace the basic pedals if I so desire. I am currently playing an F1 2019 career but have DiRT Rally, GRiD Autosport, Raceroom and some older titles, so like I say I'm a casual sim racer and for me the wheel works well enough.
I have the Thrustmaster TX and for the price it's amazing. I did upgrade the pedals but the standard ones you get with it are just fine, especially if you're a beginner. Being able to change out the wheel for different ones is also a great feature that I take advantage of a lot for different games. I think the Fanatec in the apparent same price range is just too expensive for the little difference you get between the two
If you have money, just do it!!!! if you have not so much budget , dont be fool . just enjoy your game. you dont need 1500$gear to race, you do not need GPU 1500$ to play, you dont need 800$ gaming chair to play, all you need is compromise and patience ! Also _do your research! search forums, videos , likes-dislikes, people first wheel experience_ , Btw this video is very useful, and explains them beautifully and clearly. I will also share my experience with anyone who needs it in that sentence > G29 budget for starter is pretty good for 2 years of hard use, but after that, I will go for something more solid, and definitely not plastic. Sometimes it is finally worth giving them once and for all to get the expensive one. rather than two or three cheap. Also something last and short but very important. *DO NOT PLUG - UNPLUG* things . This reduces the service life of the device / cables / sockets. to any device.
400 hours later and my t150 pedals' gas has gone completely loose and sits at ~70% throttle at all times with no deadzone. They served me well, but I'm really excited for my clubsport v3s. Great video, very informative, great recommendations all around!
Since Feel VR and its delays have been mentioned here is the current situation: Feel VR has stopped responding to its bakers and not released any updates ever since 1.1.20. They didn´t even mention the wheel ever since their October 2019 update. They don´t respond to direct messages either and their CEO has left the company. They also closed their indigogo project.
I still sport my G25, and it's in perfect working condition. I bought that thing for about 200$ back in the GTR2 days in 2006. Pretty good value for money, I'd say...
I "downgraded" from a T300RS to a G29 when the Thrustmaster crapped itself after only 200 hours of use. Add to it there seems to be a lot of issues with Thrustmaster wheels I no longer have any trust in their longevity. Perfectly happy with the Logitech though. I tend to go light on the FFB, so the weaker motor of the Logitech is a not an issue for me.
ilikepizza I bought 2 Thrustmaster T300RS wheels that were dead the moment I unpacked them. Glitches to the pause screen in the middle of corners sent my 3rd one packing.
@@matthewkane7524 Well that sucks :/ In my case the wheel just decided to not turn on anymore. Went from working perfectly one day to refusing to turn on the next.
My T300 crapped out on me 5 days after warranty. Turn it on and it just spins and slams. Thrustmaster said it lost calibration. They also said send it to us to Canada mind you for $$ to see if they could fix. If they couldn’t they wouldn’t send it back. Been looking at fanatec‘ s f1 setup for new setup.
For any Sub-$100 buyers out there like myself, there ARE options for 900 degrees and Force Feedback, even in the pandemic. for $88 with shipping and tax included, I got a Logitech Driving Force Pro. It doesn't have a clutch and it was a pain in the ass to configure, but it IS compatible with the most recent games
@@ClankyOtter I'm still using it. 1200 hours and counting. I would say spend $20 more and buy a G27 or G25 though, I still very much regret not getting a manual
I’m still enjoying my G920. For the price, the build quality is excellent, and it gives me enough FFB feel for my liking. At some point I’ll move on I think, but for now I’m still enjoying the sim experience the Logitech gives me. The leather wrapped and nicely stitched wheel, and solid industrial look and feel in three pedal set (I did add the H shifter) is pleasantly surprising especially compared to the “plastic-y” similar offerings from Thrustmaster. Great informative video all around, thank you for posting it. 👍
u noyt hakor sim raser unless yu gots 2k pedals, wheel base. 500 shifta lobesell and 600 wheel, car frame and body as a rig..... how dare you justify your purchase by enjoying it and having fun(good job).... you don't belong in "harkor sem raser" class.... you have to argue how this game is "simcade" and how your fav sim[game] is 'realer' than this guy's sim[game]...
I have a Logitech g920, a 200 gaming chair a steering weel/shifter/ handbrake stand, xbox one S and a 40" tv. That setup works perfect for me. I love it and I can use the chair when I'm not even racing.
So looking back from 2021: The T300RS/TX on the used market paired with the newly released (not long after the video aired) TLCM pedals is BUDGET KING. Fast force feedback, no loud clacks, and a load cell pedal row is all you need. I am planning to upgrade from a G29 to that combination because I got fed up with the clacks from the gear driven force feedback (also amplified by the tons of hollow plastic the wheelbase is made of). Over 2 years of use and I can positively say it was my gateway drug into simracing, but no self steering for drifting and rallying got me sick of it (has way too much resistance for that and is generally slow compared to belt driven systems, the only solution is either you give up the amount of strength and you spin the wheel yourself or just force it which will be reeeeeaaaaally loud). However as much as I am bashing on the G series wheels it is unlikely I will ever call it bad. It’s good. Really good for the price I got it for and I will keep recommending it for those who just want to race with something. Software support and aftermarket support is as amazing as it can get and the fact that iracing has made it feel like an actually responsive wheel (even though the tolerances of it are just messy to be awfully honest) makes it the best entry point into sim racing. Also if you feel like it has a lot of deadzone you can still generate custom look-up-tables for it with wheelchecker and use that as your force feedback curve and will genuinely improve your feel much more than software settings ever could. As I said: a really good entry but very far from something that doesn’t feel lik a loud toy that annoys the crap out of flatmates/parents/everyone and their mum in your neighbourhood.
The Fanatec CSL Elite is by far the best on the list due to what you actually get for the price. The build quality is also top notch. The fact it can be used on any major system minus Nintendo, pretty much speaks for itself.
I got a brake mod (GTEye) for my Logitech G920 and the brakes feel so much better now. That was my main complaint about Logitech - the pedals felt way too weak and it was really difficult to be subtle on the brakes. Definitely worth checking out if you don't want to spend much but want a decent upgrade.

If you really want a wheel but have limited budget less than $100 then I suggest the PXN v900 instead of the ones suggested in the video. No force feedback, but at least 900 degrees of rotation. Works well for Euro truck Simulator.
Thanks for this. I recently grabbed my Thrustmaster T500 RS servo and pedals with the Ferrari F1 racing wheel out of storage to play F1 2019. I forgot how fun it is. I had to stop using it in my old apartment because the feedback was so loud when I would hit the curb or crash that my downstairs neighbour could hear it and it bothered her. In my new apartment, it's not an issue and my daughter loves to watch me play! I play on PC only. I also have the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog kit that I hope someday I will get the motivation to re-learn and play DCS A-10C with.
i’ve had my wheel for 20 years, great ffb, and gives me a huge amount of joy. i use a logitech momo, the only downside is that it doesn’t have many buttons, super cheap now too!
I loved my mono, but several things made me do my own wheel. The pedal pots fail way too often, the gearing in the momo is to grinding (not smooth), I fixed all of that and added 27 buttons and when from 8bit controller (256 steps of resolution) to 12bit (4096 steps), knight and fkn day, check it out www.flickr.com/photos/123906448@N08/albums/72157644519292052
do you think it's a smart move to buy a steering wheel now, considering that in a few months the Playstation 5 is launched and these steering wheels may not be compatible with the new console?
I’m not sure about the PS5, but all Xbox One games, accessories, and controllers will be compatible with the Xbox Series X. Hopefully the same compatibility is available for Playstation players.
Note!!!! I am saying this only 2 minutes into the video!!! But if I may say for a good decent starter set the thrustmaster that is modeled after the Ferrari 458 spider is actually a pretty good set out of the box. Just read your instructions though for sure and if you are going to use it for games like forza 7 and such make sure you go into controller settings and adjust them to your liking or else you will get frustrated with this wheel set up very quickly. But once adjusted it is a very good set up not to mention the deadzone isn't that bad and then once adjusted there is almost little to no deadzone at all. And then it only costs about $100 in United States currency
What a fantastic guide. As much as I'd have loved the T300 RS with the 8 H shifter I couldn't afford it. But I managed to find a brand new Logitech G923, shifter, AND a really good frame second hand on the marketplace for only $400 Australian dollars! That frame alone is like $350 rrp and the wheel in Australia is $599 rrp. Super happy with the purchase. I've tried the g29 and have to say the g923 brake pedal is soooo much better. Plus the wheel looks nicer being all black. Now that I'm happy with the wheel, I'll save up one day for a Fanatec wheel when I can afford to upgrade
I had the DFGT for many years, but when Forza 7 was released I wanted to upgrade and got the G920 and the shifter. I am not that much into driving sims and honestly use the wheel way more for ETS2 and FS19, but I never regretted it, using 3 Pedals and a shifter adds so much more immersion to it.
I snagged that Logitech MOMO Racing for $20, and it was great fun for a couple of years until the force feedback broke. It also only had about 200 degrees of rotation but hey, it was $20. Edit: finally upgraded to a G27 back in June. It's still "entry-level" but I love how it comes with an H-pattern shifter and 3-pedal set all in one. Hard to beat for a manual transmission enthusiast on a tight budget.
Oppinion warning! The last wheel I had was an orange Fanatec Porsche GT3 RS wheel with pedals and shifters. It worked fine but the FFB and smoothness of the steering was heavy and rough even at minimal settings as was that the whole thing looked unpolished with cheap plastics and crappy feeling buttons. Granted this was one of the cheapest wheelsets they sold at the time but it was still pretty expensive. The most expensive wheelset I owned actually. Before that I had a Logitech Driving Force GT but the large bearing bracket cracked. I think it was because of the autocalibration it does which slams the wheel from one end to the other. I repaired the bracket with tie-wraps but if I have to do it again I would repair it with one of those metal hose clamps. The wheel has bad FFB and didn't feel very smooth because of the gearing system. As a positive the wheel looked and felt nice with good feeling buttons and grippy wheel. My first wheel was one of those cheap Thrusmaster Ferrari wheels with a bungie cord. It was total crap, the cord wore out pretty quickly because it rubbed around sharp edges which were leftovers from the molding process and weren't smoothed. I had to smooth it myself when I replaced the cord at some point. The pedals were from what I remember the best thing (still not great) and are also used with their more expensive wheels. They use potentiometers so you need contactspray to clean and lubricate them every once a while. I really don't care about the whole Porsche (Fanatec) or Ferrari (Thrustmaster) licensing as that money is best spent elsewhere. I just want a wheel with a nice button layout and quality buttons. As such I like Logitech more than the other brands. The software on Windows from Logitech is better than that of Fanatec (primitive and unintuitive) and Thrustmaster (fancy but too complicated). So my experience with wheels is pretty dissappointing and while I try to follow what's on the market, I haven't beent tempted yet to dive in again and just play with a gamepad and stay away from hardcore sims (at least multiplayer).
Can confirm the G29 has been a 10/10 intro to sim racing. Been on many a journey between Forza Horizon 4 + 5, Dirt 4 + Rally 2.0, Assetto Corsa, Beam.ng
for people who want to test there is one anwer: Driving Force GT - get one used for like 30 bucks. Im still using mine for iracing with loadcell pedals from fanatec
I absolutey love the tmx pro set. I got the logitech shifter to go along with it with an adapter and it works great. My only complaint about the wheel is it feels maybe a little small.
nephyril i have the worst luck with hardware. Everything I’ve gone through 4 headsets, 6 mouses, 3 pc cases and a bunch of other stuff that usually ends up dead on arrival. I’m usually able to return then and get them replaced but I’ve got terrible luck with it so I’m waiting to get it new so I have manufacturers warranty. Thanks though I appreciate the reply. Walmart has it for $200 but it’s out of stock I’m hoping they restock that one.
Thrustmaster t500 rs...yes its a bit pricey but omg is it amazing. Everything about it is quality at its force feedback is insanely powerful if you decide you want it that way. Pair it with the thrustmaster 7 speed stick and your in for the most fun ever. Dirt rally racing is incredible. Downshifting into a corners ect is so much fun.
@@ricardoteapila4269 That's the wheel I wanted to start with and it's sad that they're out of stock in nearly every major store, first party sellers of course. I rarely trust third party sellers for that case.
Don't worry. The positive side is that whenever there's a bubble like this, there's usually an eventual burst in which savvy people can get even better deals than ever before.
DFGT is the best cheap wheel. Only problem is its out of production. So you can only find it used. If you want under 100$ and you can find one there is no better choice. It actually has FFB, which, while weak (i think 1.7Nm gear driven) is eons ahead of not having FFB.
Bought my DFGT for 35 euro. And now i bought a G29 for 135 euro second hand. Bought a HSS shifter for 100 euro. 2 extra 24 inch screens for 45 euro to make triple screensetup. for 300 euro i have a blast.
i had a fanatec gt2 wheel, what a pain in the ass, went to warranty 4 times. in the other hand the csp pedals WHERE AMAZINGGG and i sold them 3 years later without any problems
I bought the G29 a few years ago now when they first released. It was a big step up from my 1998 model Logitech "Formula Force", which i believe was their first FFB wheel. The wheel itself worked fine still, but the red covering was all sticky, so ended up just tossing it out the day i brought home the G29. It's been a great wheel thus far, but i did have to pull it apart last week to fix the paddle shifters not working, but using some sandpaper on the contacts inside the microswitches. I would love to get the CSL setup though, maybe wifey can wrap one for christmas.
I bought a real hydraulic handbrake from ebay for around £25 and attached the potentiometer from an old joystick that cost me £5 to the side of it. Added a heavy spring for some resistance, and boom. Analogue handbrake for £30. I would have loved to do a proper hydraulic pressure sensitive one as Dustin said, but the parts were pretty expensive, and I can still convert it to that in the future!
if you search hard enough, you can pick up a Logitech G27 second hand for below 180 euro. really a good wheel, and comes with a shifter, 3-pedal set and ofcourse the wheel itself
6:00 I bought a PXN V900. Yeah, no force feedback and the accel pedal is squizzy. But it has 900° rotation and you know what, that'll be enough for me.
I've got a thrustmaster tmx wheel and overall it is a great wheel for the price. Although you do not get a three pedal set included, in my opinion the thrustmaster pedal set is higher quality than the offering from logitech. Also the shifter included with the logitech wheel is pretty low quality and if playing on console this is the only shifter you can use with the wheel, whilst the thrustmaster addon shifter is considerably more expensive i personally beleive that it is better value in the long term as it is a better quality shifter.
Interesting that only 2.5 years ago the $500-1000 range was dominated by belt driven bases. I am just getting into the hobby and this price point is now filled with quality direct drive bases. I was originally opting for the $400 Logitech/Thrustmaster option but looking a bit deeper I discovered that spending 50% more takes you from a high quality toy to an entry level professional product. I ended up getting a Moza R9 system but a R5 bundle can be had for $600 though adding the $29 brake kit is mandatory in my opinion. The user interface and performance upgrade is pretty drastic and far beyond the 50% increase in cost. If you are able to stretch your budget I highly recommend it.
7:05 I have this wheel for at least 14 years! and still working. BUT it wil give only 240º and provides a weak and late force feedback... still is a good wheel for those who are financially tight and are starting now in the world of virtual racing games.
I broke 3 trustmaster t300rs. I didnt do anything crazy, just used them like a wheel should be used IM serious!!! Albeit i did drift with them on AC. But cmon loads of people do that. They somehow all shorted out or something..After 3 guarentees, because this all happened within 6 months!! I switched over to a G29. It still works like new 3 years later and i am using it the exact same way as i was using the t300rs's. And no i am not some idiot Abusing a steering wheel and making it turn Way faster than any human is capable off. I still don't get it. They used to smell after some time too, about 15 minutes.
T300's have a problem with overheating, since the fan of the wheel is set to automatic in standard configuration. Thrustmaster "fixed" this by adding a feature to the software that allows you to have the fan using full power all the time. I own a T300RS GT Edition myself and have enabled said option. But I still don't get why Thrustmaster didn't include this from the start. Nowadays you can use T300's for long races and also long drifting sessions without any problems, at least if you know about this issue and turn on the fan.
@@enriquedavid1705 how do you do that. I have T300rs GT edition and I've never had an issue (almost 2 years old now). But granted I don't beat on it. But lately I've been thinking of dedicating more time to it so I would like to do that. I don't have any Thrustmaster software besides the drivers. I've searched through their page and found nothing. How do you change the fan setting?
@@RafaelSilva-yv3oh Just press the mode button and the options button at the same time. You'll hear the fans working even if your wheel's engine is still cold.

Yes, the gear technology is relatively noisy, but there is a simple solution to make it almost completely silent. If you have some manual skills, you can do the conversion for 1€ in just under half an hour (Warning!!! Warranty expires)
Unscrew the steering wheel, remove both motors and you get to the gear rail.
It's not rocket science and both conversions present you with a better driving experience.👋

Just started getting into sim racing here’s what I did:
Got the Logitech g920 wheel and pedals for £150 from amazon (half price), I attached it to my standard height desk from ikea and put the pedals against the wall and it worked great.

Or, manual H pattern + clutch and a paddle for the handbrake.
Replace 2 screws, attach an O-ring and you've got a sequential shifter.
All for under £200
Also the wheel is top quality, comfy and has never over heated. Even with prolonged daily use.

I have the Thrustmaster TX and for the price it's amazing. I did upgrade the pedals but the standard ones you get with it are just fine, especially if you're a beginner. Being able to change out the wheel for different ones is also a great feature that I take advantage of a lot for different games. I think the Fanatec in the apparent same price range is just too expensive for the little difference you get between the two
If you have money, just do it!!!!
if you have not so much budget , dont be fool . just enjoy your game.
you dont need 1500$gear to race, you do not need GPU 1500$ to play, you dont need 800$ gaming chair to play,
all you need is compromise and patience ! Also _do your research! search forums, videos , likes-dislikes, people first wheel experience_ ,
Btw this video is very useful, and explains them beautifully and clearly.
I will also share my experience with anyone who needs it in that sentence >
G29 budget for starter is pretty good for 2 years of hard use, but after that, I will go for something more solid, and definitely not plastic.
bought that thing for about 200$ back in the GTR2 days in 2006.

Well that sucks :/
In my case the wheel just decided to not turn on anymore.

I don't believe you as I got the g923 and its garbage, the whole setup.
I just bought a Playseat and a G29 wheel/pedal set. I love it for GT Sport.
I have a Logitech g920, a 200 gaming chair a steering weel/shifter/ handbrake stand, xbox one S and a 40" tv. That setup works perfect for me. I love it and I can use the chair when I'm not even racing.
When I'm not racing meaning when I'm watching somthing on my xbox lol.
I ride the Series X and am completely satisfied with the Logitech!
It's not rocket science and both conversions present you with a better driving experience.👋
Of course I left you a subscription
