In this video I will show you how to replace the Yamaha Trim and Tilt Switch on almost every Yamaha Outboard Engine out there. This switch is on the engine itself. Takes about 10 minutes and will save you a lot of money doing it yourself. If your engine is not the same part number the principal and instructions are going to roughly be the same.

Hey i have a Yamaha motor and the trim and tilt is tuck on the up position in order to stop it i have to disconnect the battery can it be the switch thats stuck? Thank you

how did you determine it was the switch and not the relay? I think my relay is intermittent as when I take green or blue off the relay and touch directly to the red they both work.

My outboard motor is a 2000 yamaha 90hp and I don't have a switch anywhere to do this...should it have a switch? I'm new to all this and have no clue. Couldn't find a switch on the engine at all.

Only if you ordered it with one. Not all of them have the switch on the cowling, just on the throttle.

You can pull the switch and test it separately.
