You just picked 6 watches that are impossible to buy at retail. It's somewhat disingenuous to call them great investments because your entry point, assuming you are not a celebrity who could buy them from an AD ahead of everyone else, is much higher. You cant buy a Daytona for 12,4000 because they are not available. It would be better to offer perspective on watches you think will be great investments that could be bought now, otherwise its just Monday morning quarterbacking. While I found your video to be fun and entertaining, it's somewhat infuriating that you suggest these watches could be bought at retail or that they can continue to appreciate. If your paying $24K for a new Daytona you are taking a hell of a risk that you could make a profit on that watch. Most people in the industry suggest that you only buy what you like, and NEVER consider a watch an investment.
In the west these watches are impossible to get, but in Dubai, Japan or Malaysia you could literally walk into the secondary market for just a little over A.D. prices.
Kevin , i think you should point out that each automatic watch is one of a kind , its "'alive " , has a life of its own , and operates by the movement of your wrist . No two automatic watches are the same , and yes , it has a soul.
@Kevin All due respect, your video is perhaps a bit misleading. The watches you have listed have been wait listed for years. That means only the wealthy and well connected will ever see them at retail and realize the profits.
When you have some hard to get pieces because of your star power, when you use french expressions intensely, yet you sound like total horological newbie and nouveau riche! Enjoy your "julian bracelet" lol
A regular viewer of Bear Clooney. I am glad you expressed your honest opinion on this gentleman who could buy any watch he wants with his extreme wealth but has zero horological knowledge The sad thing is there are many genuine watch enthusiasts that cannot get hold of any of these watches from ADs, in the current market whilst these rich and famous are getting them pretty easily.
This video and his behavior actually made me throw up in my mouth a bit. They're all fantastic pieces, but there's no whimsy or heart/soul to his collection. You can tell they're just expensive watches he bought, because they were expensive and sought after. A garden variety, nouveau riche, cookie cutter collection. Really disappointing.
The problem I have with having to schmooze an AD is you have to spent a lot of money on not so great investment watches to gain access to the good investment watches. The prestige of Rolex isn't enough for me to have to basically beg a business to take my 15k for their product.
A watch isnt an investment! 😡 A watch is a piece of art. I would never buy and sell my watches for profit. If you really love your watches you dont need luxury brands. Buy the watches you like and want to wear. What he is saying is that someone who cant afford a luxury watch cant become a watch collector and that a collection without these luxury brands don’t count as Collection. What i totally disagree with
Couldnt have said it better, i could have bought a 10x times more expensive one if i wanted to but i got myself a Omega seamaster 300 cus i just love how they look and feels wearing it.
I had a great watch buying experience with Rozett this week. He responded quickly to my inquiries and shipped the watch out immediately. It even arrived one day sooner than expected. Thank you for being excellent to work with. Would do business with you again in the future.
Watches are not a good investment - Amazing Hobby - Not an Investment. ALL of these watches he mentioned can only be purchased in 3 ways: Spend TONS of money on other "non desirable" watches or jewelry at your local AD - get on a list - and then you MIGHT get one (defeats the point of investment)... 2. Buy them on the grey market for DOUBLE their Retail price (defeats the point of investment), Pray LOL (Not gonna happen)…. IFFFFF you can get them at Retail price (almost impossible) - YES then they are a good investment. The point - YOU CAN NOT get ANY of these watches at Retail without already spending a TON of money. Therefore - BECAUSE these are the most collectable watches on the market - you CAN'T get them. It's basically like buying a hot stock AFTER its already at it's peak. Can that stock/watch go up even more in value? Yes, possibly, - but investing 101 teaches us to buy LOW and sell HIGH. NOTTTT to buy HIGH and sell slightly higher. Good luck......
What you have to do is buy a good looking Rolex that you believe will appreciate in value and wait maybe your watch will be featured in this video one day
This famous investment guru can't be arrested by the SEC for market manipulation/insider trading for hyping up the watches which he already owns in his collection and then dumping them later in the secondary market for a huge profit because watches are not covered federal securities law. He's taking advantage of his celebrity status to make easy profits on his watches by misleading the greedy public.
So many small minded people in the comments worried about how he’s says collection or the camera quality instead of the information he’s offering. He’s saying watched can make a great investment and just giving proof that several great watches appreciated in value over time. Now it’s your turn to go out and build a collection that means something to YOU. Goddamn no wonder so many people are poor.
The problem is that if you sell any of these watches for profit your watch seller will cease to supply you with new watches, because they have so many people on the waiting list and don't like to give them to people who just want to have them to make money.
Kevin O'Leary Don’t ever let the haters get to you Mr.Wonderful (not like they could). You stand up for being truthful and I think that’s really great. All the best
I think watch collecting is for old people. People wore hats in the 1950s and then just stopped. The same thing is happening with watches. Some young people do not even know how to tell time with an analog watch.
The thing is these watches appreciate like crazy because people are so desperate to have one that they can't wait a few years on the wait list they buy them in the aftermarket. I guarantee you if people just waited to get one from the AD they wouldn't appreciate in value like crazy.
To be frank, one fine day I just watched a video of Teddy and Kevin randomly on TH-cam and ever since I am only searching for the videos of Kevin and watches ! He talks so much from his heart and appreciate the timepieces so much, it's simply entertaining to watch 😍...and the random phrases he talks in non English language while appreciating them... he's got great dialogue delivery !!!
Love the video. Excited about the fact that Kevin is also a part of the watch fam. Would be AWESOME to see him collab with a favourite watch TH-camr of mine Tidy Bulbasaur. Also, Jubilee* bracelet lmao
Hello Kevin; thanks for a very nice fun video for watch enthusiasts. Red rubber bands are your personal trademark and as you say "I get it". Honestly a red band on a watch of any price or quality looks like a fashion bauble watch that are sold at Walmart, Kohls and Kmart when they were open.
Unfortunately he’s a bit off on the “panda” definition. It has nothing to do with the new ceramic bezel. Panda refers to the white dial with three black sub-dials (causing the “face” to resemble a panda). The term has been extended to black dials with white sub-dials.
Kevin, Perfect 6 watches, literally my six favorite & exact collection I'm after. A year ago last week I purchased my first piece the new Pepsi GMT II after having my first big year in real estate. I will never forget the feeling of being one of the first people in the country with that watch and how it felt and I've truly enjoyed it every day since. I'm on the list for both the batman & hulk. The other two are out of my league for now. Being that your a high profile guy representing the Rubber B brand you should implore them to making rubber straps for our new GMT's where you can use the Rolex clasp. I've been begging for a year, but they might listen if you request it. Great video, keep kicking ass!
Kevin is right - it would certainly beat the bank if you can buy any of the watches featured here new at retail price. But there's a little elephant in the room! For most regular people (i.e. people who don't have a huge purchase history or other special high level contacts with authorised dealers) it will be hard/impossible to get them. A Rolex GMT2 or Hulk Submariner at retail would involve a waiting list of 1 or 2 years. It'll be 98% impossible to get the Rolex Daytona at retail; and it will be 99.999% impossible to get the Patek or AP featured here. It absolutely isn't about having the money ready to buy: these aren't watches you can get new at retail by just waving a wad of dollars at a dealer! Even big dealers only get a couple of steel Nautilus watches per year from Switzerland. Demand massively outstrips supply. They really do have to be _super-selective_ about whom they sell to. So where does that leave a mere mortal? If you are a 'Kevin' then these are cool watches to buy. If you're not a 'Kevin' - it's probably a case of "dream on buddy" - unfortunately.
U don't invest, you get emotionally involved to a brand. My investment is close to minus 30%. Like Panerai, Omega seamaster. But I feel it... I have some far 3 watches n I'm happy, isn't that whole purpose?
The aftermarket bands makes the watch look fake, tacky and cheap. Thats like putting oversized rims on a Porsche 911 gt3Rs . Those bands totally ruined the look but no one else will say that .
Kevin, as a watch collector myself I would agree with your 6 shown here. I’d love to know your personal thoughts as to why Lange is so soft in the aftermarket. After all, they are amazing works of art. Sure, Lange is a German brand (vs Swiss), but it just doesn’t make sense to me why the appreciation isn’t higher with that Manufacturer. Thoughts?
Lange's are meticulously maid with extensive detail to craftsmen that goes into every watch. And are very exclusive so they are sold at a premium. From my observation though Lange's don't have the same allure as a Patek. Which is the watch maker they're compared to the most. And even some of the other Swiss brands. Lange doesn't seem to have the same brand strength. And from a mechanical stand point. They're movement doesn't seem to be as fluid. It's just when it comes to the Swiss name it Swiss or basically nothing else will do.
All great watches and he is correct about how the prices appreciate with these brands. Do your hw, but he is correct. I would love it if he would drop the pretension and pronounce "collection" normally. I suspect that 99% of the down votes are because of that and putting gawdy red bands on rolexes :) Anyway, solid advice if you can get these watches. It will take time as he said.
@@mpdeviney You make good points. Perhaps my original post lacked appropriate nuance. All I can say is that from my own very modest forays into the pre-owned luxury watch game, I have made money so far. Admittedly, not much. By being patient and staying within my financial means, I have owned 3 low-end Rolexes, 2 Cartiers, and 3 Bulgaris (yes, the last two are basically jewelry, but i enjoyed wearing them), and was able to sell them all for more than I paid. The increase ranged from several hundred to a couple thousand, but it was enough for me as this is a hobby and i am a minnow. Anyway, i got to enjoy the watches, and no money was lost. The Bulgari price increases were due to the increase in the price of precious metals these days. I should be honest about that. If anyone is wondering, the Rolexes were Datejusts and an Explorer. Not expensive models, but that seems to help sell them as more people can afford to buy. Do your hw, stay within your means, and be patient :)
@@mpdeviney I like your approach (5 × 2k rather than 1 × 10k). You can enjoy a lot of superb pieces that way. I have seen Michael the Producer's videos. He was the person who introduced me to Jacob & Co. I was pretty shocked by the prices! :) I think you and I are probably on the same page with regards to Richard Mille, Jacob & Co., etc. and watches costing in excess of 100,000 pounds. They are just so far beyond me price-wise, that I mostly ignore them. I am torn over how i feel about them as watches, but the prices are exorbitant. Basically, even if i had the money to consider one of those watches, I would stick with the Big Three or more expensive Rolexes, Omegas, etc.I just like them better :)
Interesting…I guess you’re right. But will see if I can invest in lower prices watches. I’m a French speaker and I think it’s funny when he says « collection », hehe.
As an online trader it doesn't matter how I look or what I wear. Online markets of all kinds. If you can find a product below wholesale which has demand you can sell it for more. Also knowing where the market is also important. Personally selling watches will require you to invest a good portion of capital on product which may sit. Unless that watch is in high demand. Kevin O'Leary got rich through his business. Watches is more of a hobby for him. Don't watch this thinking it's a get rich living selling watches. Unless you have a spare 50k to 100k to invest not to mention hunting the watches. Oh and then there is a massive amount of counterfeit watches thanks to China! Waste of time!!!

He did say "the most covenant watches in the world"
100% right. It's impossible to get any of these today, especially the way Kevin is suggesting.
Couldn't agree more...buy only what you like and never consider them an investment.
In the west these watches are impossible to get, but in Dubai, Japan or Malaysia you could literally walk into the secondary market for just a little over A.D. prices.
No, you can certainly not do that right now.
Never stop dreaming. Be hungry and never stop believing in your dreams. If someone can do it, then you too can do it. Be strong
@UCdll0_yM4ZdxwTEFQ4j_O6A nice thought, it's quite a sad thing that many wants to be wealthy but can't risk the loss

@Kevin All due respect, your video is perhaps a bit misleading. The watches you have listed have been wait listed for years. That means only the wealthy and well connected will ever see them at retail and realize the profits.
you still can do some profits even buying them on the grey market
When you have some hard to get pieces because of your star power, when you use french expressions intensely, yet you sound like total horological newbie and
nouveau riche! Enjoy your "julian bracelet" lol
A regular viewer of Bear Clooney. I am glad you expressed your honest opinion on this gentleman who could buy any watch he wants with his extreme wealth but has zero horological knowledge
The sad thing is there are many genuine watch enthusiasts that cannot get hold of any of these watches from ADs, in the current market whilst these rich and famous are getting them pretty easily.

Really disappointing.
those fish in the background are 10x larger than they ever get usually, amazing.
Omg I can't stop looking at my wrist just exactly what I wanted right in front of me and the delivery was excellent thank you Rozett.

Came here from Teddy's video. Enjoyed seeing Kevin talk about watches. Would love to see a video with Mr. Wonderful and Teddy.

What you have to do is buy a good looking Rolex that you believe will appreciate in value and wait maybe your watch will be featured in this video one day
salemdxb really? When? Where? And what else did you buy? Do tell.....
Chooses the current instagram favourites, and now he's an expert.
Haha exactly

The Daytona has a Ceramic bezel not dial ..... get your script right.
Simon Arey 🤣right

Oh please dude. When he talked about the hulk the mention the dial and bezel. Of course he knows what they are.
I recently bought a Casio Forester for $22 on eBay. It's become my favorite watch. Someday I'll sell it for million$.

Hello Mr Wonderful! C'mon over to Teddy's channel, we'd love to see you on there
Does it pay a dividend?
How your dividend to buy them
I think watch collecting is for old people.
It looks like you are "in" the aquarium. Buy a better camera mr wonderful, this is not 4k. Looks like I am watching a VHS tape

Hi, I always thought that panda's are black with white eyes, the white dial and black sub-dials is called a reverse panda is it not?
@@martinjn2920 A Panda has black eyes.
Kevin,
Perfect 6 watches, literally my six favorite & exact collection I'm after.
My favorite Rolex is the platinum Daytona.
I LIKE THE PART " IT HAS A SOUL ".

U don't invest, you get emotionally involved to a brand. My investment is close to minus 30%. Like Panerai, Omega seamaster. But I feel it... I have some far 3 watches n I'm happy, isn't that whole purpose?

The best investment watch is the one you never want to sell, the one you like for what it is, not is market value at the moment or in the future.
The aftermarket bands makes the watch look fake, tacky and cheap. Thats like putting oversized rims on a Porsche 911 gt3Rs . Those bands totally ruined the look but no one else will say that .
You have have an astonishing comment that got my attention.
Text me immediately.👆👆👆
Kevin, as a watch collector myself I would agree with your 6 shown here. I’d love to know your personal thoughts as to why Lange is so soft in the aftermarket. After all, they are amazing works of art. Sure, Lange is a German brand (vs Swiss), but it just doesn’t make sense to me why the appreciation isn’t higher with that Manufacturer. Thoughts?
It's about desirability and rarity. It will take some time, but Lange's marketing team can make them as big as Rolex if they're smart

@Kevin O'Leary Hack!!!
Kevin, great collection. Just got my Pepsi a few weeks ago at retail. May pick up the red Rubber b band. Looks really good!
Nice
It's called a "Panda" because of the white dial with black ringed sub dials, not because of the black ceramic bezel.
