The gold souq in Dubai, you can get original used watches for half these prices, you can get the used hulk rolex original for Dhs. 15,000/-
In uae these luxury watch companies are in so much competition that prices are lower than anywhere else in world

@DJI Mavic if u keep buy it for investment... You won't enjoyed it since it just lock in safe somewheres... Don't that the reason u got stolen twice? It part hobby, part love and hopefully got the money back for profit.

Kevin O'Leary completely agree all what you said and represented..
Great collection you got and I have collection to pass on to my kids and was worth paying price..
Understanding Swiss Horology how they make it and History is that not all people know or would pay price for it..
My favourite besides all you shown too as well is Jeager LeCoultre excellent Brand and History behind it
      Cheers

I think you should just stick to Shark Tank or whatever it is you do because clearly your knowledge of watches is on a very limited scale. You lost ALL credibility when you kept pronouncing “collection” as if you were French (very odd) and that red band is absolutely hideous.

Hey I liked the 90's a Rolex Submariner was under 4K and Porsche 911's were still air cooled. It was still easy to get over 12 cap in real estate, computers were shut off at 5PM, television programming was primarily sitcoms no reality show garbage. No facebook, twitter or instagram yes the 90's were great.

You just picked 6 watches that are impossible to buy at retail. It's somewhat disingenuous to call them great investments because your entry point, assuming you are not a celebrity who could buy them from an AD ahead of everyone else, is much higher. You cant buy a Daytona for 12,4000 because they are not available. It would be better to offer perspective on watches you think will be great investments that could be bought now, otherwise its just Monday morning quarterbacking. While I found your video to be fun and entertaining, it's somewhat infuriating that you suggest these watches could be bought at retail or that they can continue to appreciate. If your paying $24K for a new Daytona you are taking a hell of a risk that you could make a profit on that watch. Most people in the industry suggest that you only buy what you like, and NEVER consider a watch an investment.

The thing is these watches appreciate like crazy because people are so desperate to have one that they can't wait a few years on the wait list they buy them in the aftermarket. I guarantee you if people just waited to get one from the AD they wouldn't appreciate in value like crazy.

I picked up two pre-owned GMT's about 9 years ago. One is a 1970 Pepsi GMT Master 1675 which I paid $3,500 which today is going over $10k. The other, a transition 16700 GMT Master I paid $3,800 which are going for $8-9K. A year later I picked up a early 90's N serial 14060 no date sub for $3200 which are now going for above $6,000. In the same year I grabbed a mid 90's polar 16570 S serial explorer II for a whopping $2,800. Before the pre-owned sports model model market blew up, mid 90's Rolex sports models were bargains. While slightly newer superluminova models weren't to much more expensive, I specifically sought after tritium dial models even though there is very little night lume left however the Rolex era of radioactive tritium phosphorescent paint just ramps up the nostalgia factor x10 for me.

Watches are not a good investment - Amazing Hobby - Not an Investment. ALL of these watches he mentioned can only be purchased in 3 ways: Spend TONS of money on other "non desirable" watches or jewelry at your local AD - get on a list - and then you MIGHT get one (defeats the point of investment)... 2. Buy them on the grey market for DOUBLE their Retail price (defeats the point of investment), Pray LOL (Not gonna happen)…. IFFFFF you can get them at Retail price (almost impossible) - YES then they are a good investment. The point - YOU CAN NOT get ANY of these watches at Retail without already spending a TON of money. Therefore - BECAUSE these are the most collectable watches on the market - you CAN'T get them. It's basically like buying a hot stock AFTER its already at it's peak. Can that stock/watch go up even more in value? Yes, possibly, - but investing 101 teaches us to buy LOW and sell HIGH. NOTTTT to buy HIGH and sell slightly higher. Good luck......

I would love it if he would drop the pretension and pronounce "collection" normally. @@mpdeviney You make good points. Perhaps my original post lacked appropriate nuance. All I can say is that from my own very modest forays into the pre-owned luxury watch game, I have made money so far. Admittedly, not much. By being patient and staying within my financial means, I have owned 3 low-end Rolexes, 2 Cartiers, and 3 Bulgaris (yes, the last two are basically jewelry, but i enjoyed wearing them), and was able to sell them all for more than I paid. The increase ranged from several hundred to a couple thousand, but it was enough for me as this is a hobby and i am a minnow. Anyway, i got to enjoy the watches, and no money was lost. The Bulgari price increases were due to the increase in the price of precious metals these days. I should be honest about that. If anyone is wondering, the Rolexes were Datejusts and an Explorer. Not expensive models, but that seems to help sell them as more people can afford to buy. Do your hw, stay within your means, and be patient :)

@@mpdeviney I like your approach (5 × 2k rather than 1 × 10k). You can enjoy a lot of superb pieces that way. I have seen Michael the Producer's videos. He was the person who introduced me to Jacob & Co. I was pretty shocked by the prices! :) I think you and I are probably on the same page with regards to Richard Mille, Jacob & Co., etc. and watches costing in excess of 100,000 pounds. They are just so far beyond me price-wise, that I mostly ignore them. I am torn over how i feel about them as watches, but the prices are exorbitant. Basically, even if i had the money to consider one of those watches, I would stick with the Big Three or more expensive Rolexes, Omegas, etc.I just like them better :)

Luxury items are a lithe first things to sell off and lose value if we go into a recession ( how long can we keep artificially pumping up the Dow with QE?) and then luxury items are the last items to regain their value once the market recovers. Lange's are meticulously maid with extensive detail to craftsmen that goes into every watch. And are very exclusive so they are sold at a premium. From my observation though Lange's don't have the same allure as a Patek. Which is the watch maker they're compared to the most. And even some of the other Swiss brands. Lange doesn't seem to have the same brand strength. And from a mechanical stand point. They're movement doesn't seem to be as fluid. It's just when it comes to the Swiss name it Swiss or basically nothing else will do.

🔥 From *Patek Philippe* (first world watch and *THE BEST in the world* ) to the next watch brand is a distance comparable to the peak of Mt Everest vs. sea level. The most expensive Patek was sold for $24 million dollars.
Second of all, *what you bought is not a Panda.* The bezel makes you believe it is. But the dial betrays it. But is is a nice piece.
Rolex is the most popular watch. Most people but it because they do not know anything about watches. You are a collector. I get it. You should have Rolex watches, of course.
NB., From your Rolex SS Daytona to the Panda model is also distance of at least $100,000 ($300,000, to be more realistic).
And BTW, Daytona’s movement is made by Zenith.
Yes, Rolex watches are increasing in value (as all other jewels), big time. I bought a 1975 6265 SS Rolex (Panda) for $650.00, and sold in in 2000 for $16,000. Today, in 2020 is auctioned at $368,000.
I don’t see you talking about Vacheron Constantine, which is second below Patek. Or about A. Lange & Shöne, or IWC, which makes Rolex nonexistent.
Rolex became lately the watch of the parvenue and the uncultured. The hip hop watch.

Perfect 6 watches, literally my six favorite & exact collection I'm after. A year ago last week I purchased my first piece the new Pepsi GMT II after having my first big year in real estate. I will never forget the feeling of being one of the first people in the country with that watch and how it felt and I've truly enjoyed it every day since. I'm on the list for both the batman & hulk. The other two are out of my league for now. Being that your a high profile guy representing the Rubber B brand you should implore them to making rubber straps for our new GMT's where you can use the Rolex clasp. I've been begging for a year, but they might listen if you request it. Great video, keep kicking ass!

Kevin is right - it would certainly beat the bank if you can buy any of the watches featured here new at retail price. But there's a little elephant in the room! For most regular people (i.e. people who don't have a huge purchase history or other special high level contacts with authorised dealers) it will be hard/impossible to get them. A Rolex GMT2 or Hulk Submariner at retail would involve a waiting list of 1 or 2 years. It'll be 98% impossible to get the Rolex Daytona at retail; and it will be 99.999% impossible to get the Patek or AP featured here. It absolutely isn't about having the money ready to buy: these aren't watches you can get new at retail by just waving a wad of dollars at a dealer! Even big dealers only get a couple of steel Nautilus watches per year from Switzerland. Demand massively outstrips supply. They really do have to be _super-selective_ about whom they sell to.
So where does that leave a mere mortal? If you are a 'Kevin' then these are cool watches to buy. If you're not a 'Kevin' - it's probably a case of "dream on buddy" - unfortunately.

I would buy a watch or watches for that matter, to actually wear it/them, too. It is nice, when a timepiece holds or even gains value, but the real gain is joy, quality of life.

How sad is this: you own a really great collection (or „collexcionnn“) of wonderful watches and all you can do is wear them with ugly red rubber straps 😩

I sure like how you appreciate a nice time piece the way you say it is a piece of you. So spot on. I could have not said it better.
