    Shoutout to everyone chasing the dream. Since last year I've cleaned up my act, living more frugally and am halfway towards the deposit I need to buy my first house. I know some people have billions and can invest in amazing watches but for me to stop renting is a huge deal and I'm very proud of myself because I know I can get there. Watching these videos helps keep me motivated too! So thanks and good luck to everyone, aim high!

      Exactly! My grandfather bought a Rolex Submariner REF# 1680 in 1970. He Never took it off until 1984 and gave it to my dad when he graduated. My dad never took it off as well until he passed it along to me which was when I graduated in 2014. I haven’t taken it off, except for servicing. Now it’ll be passed to my son when he graduates! Keeping the family tradition going! Love my watch, not just because it’s a Rolex, but because of who wore it.

      TheRunningSloth. Real estate investing is a good option for creating wealth, especially if you want to have control over your investment, compared to relying on the stock market to do well with your money.
      I think He’s referring to the BRRRR method: Buy, rehab, rent, refinance, repeat. Buy property below market value, add value, find tenants, refinance to pull equity out, use that equity to repeat the process.

    • @pauldavis5665
      @pauldavis5665 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah. If it is the same price as it was 20 years ago then that actually means it lost value.

    • @randomdude6249
      @randomdude6249 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, yes and no, in those 20 years you had the opportunity to wear and enjoy the watch, and then still sell it for the same amount of money you bought it for. Objectively, due to inflation the watch technically did lose in value, but subjectively you won’t feel this as you got to wear it, and still sold it for the same amount of money.

    Don't let this fool you, watches are almost never a good means of investment outside of a small handful of models that increased in value because of marketing.
    Consider that if you buy a watch as an investment, you can't use it, meaning you can't enjoy it. Plus, watches require servicing and care. It's easy for Michael and the store owners to hold them, but they're highly educated on the subject and enjoy/do it professionally.
    Plus, Michael is friends with store owners that will sell it to him for a fair price. In reality, you will be very hard pressed to find non-shady dealers who will sell you without a high premium.

He's there to get you to buy watches not help you with your finances. The fact of the matter is that he doesn't know what will be popular in 10+ years. All of these watches could be out of style soon and we wouldn't know.

      Seth is also completely disregarding inflation and repair costs... "This watch was 4K 20 years ago, and it's 4K today, so it retains it's value" which is a completely bullshit statement. Inflation causes money to lose value over time, meaning that 4K watch would today be priced at around 6K since the dollar has lost value and normal items have become more expensive.

      i’ve been watching michael for years. 2 months ago my “dream” watch was a 2,000$ bulova. This week i purchased my first ever rolex, a 41mm datejust jubilee with factory diamonds in the face purchased at essential watches. Seth was my salesman and i told him i wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for michaels inspiration. I genuinely never believed i would get to this point. I thought i’d have a rolex one day in my 30s... and I just turned 24, and it was always just a dream to me. As the guy said before me.. never say never!
