The sound of the engine when letting the clutch out, lugging, the tiny spool, the big spool, the idle, going through the gears....man nothing beats this sound
Thank you! I’m the 2nd owner of her now. I picked it up last year with 77k miles. The first owner did a fantastic job of taking care of it. She’s just a weekend driver/grocery getter now. The only thing I have to replace is the dash…of course it still cracked even being well taken care of.
The sound of that truck rolling through gears...nothing like it. Just good ole American enginuity at its finest. I have a '99 dually quad cab 4x4 that is set up almost like yours. It has the NV4500 with a small Edge tuner. Absolutely love driving it. I'm out of Frederick County, MD. Thanks for the video, really enjoyed watching it, and God bless ya brother.
Yeah they are an absolute joy to drive! That sounds like a sweet setup that you have, duallys are neat/useful even if they’re a tad bouncier when empty. I’ve been kicking around the idea of an edge tuner. Frederick County is gorgeous, always enjoyed driving out that way. Thank you for watching and God bless man.
@tannerdamico9895 Yeah, uh, not so much. Easier on the wallet when Donald J. Trump was president. I'm sticking with my 2nd gen Dodge Cummins because while other people are buying new cars for an astronomical price and wondering which electronically controlled parts are gonna fail first the day after the warranty is up, I'm still gonna be driving ole reliable. Straight 6 cylinders and compression. It doesn't get any simpler or better than that. 🤠
Finally someone who knows how to drive stick properly, I watched a video about a power stroke 1995 model dually 7.3 changing gears, he put gas as he was pushing in the clutch, which can break the clutch. And no you don't add gas to the engine while doing the clutch, you let go of the gas and then push in the clutch. Also when releasing the clutch do it slowly so you don't break it.
Finally someone that dosent constantly shift at redline. I dont understand why people drive these old diesels like race cars, they are meant to be cruised like a semi using the low end torque shifting at below 2200.

Well it's kind da bet ok, but it is heavy than I though than the V8 4.7 that I take it out from my dakota. I only speed up my dakota with sd33T engine in the highway up to 70mph. Going to high hills highway is difficult because of the ratio of my differential.

Hey, so I’m not totally sure what would be involved with making your speedometer work. But if I had to take a guess it may have something to do with the output shaft size difference and the input gear collar/shaft differences. (Maybe swapping them out). But this is just my best guess.
