    With SOOOOOOOO many 80/20 extruded sim rigs out there to pick from, it can get a little blurry with what would be the best for any given individual. It's overwhelming. Having stumbled onto this rig in my daily research, I was pointed to this review, and it gave me ALL of the information I needed to make the decision that this is the right rig for me. Thanks for the video and effort, it's truly appreciated.

    The research and time involved to make such a good looking rig and the cable management is definitely an after thought.

      It really is a gorgeous looking rig George. Personally, I think the cable management clips fit in well. And, if you have a permament sim racing setup, you could certainly do a better job than I did at tidying the cables. 👍

    Hey loved the review! Just a quick question? Do you find that the tall side arms of the cockpit obscure your view? They stick up quite a way and its probably the only major concern I have with getting this cockpit if I do decide to pull the trigger on buying one

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks for you question Angus-I'm stoked you liked the review. That's something that I was initially concerned with also. However, when racing I didn't really notice them and they actually helped with the immersion factor by resembling parts of a roll cage. If it is an issue for you though, you can easily raise the seat and pedal deck up to mitigate for this. Hope that helps. 👍

    Can u suggest a FGT cockpit that is -
    1. VFM, budget friendly ~ $600-700
    2. Sturdy enough for CSL DD
    3. Easy to change from GT to formula & back
    4. Suitable for games like ets2 to F1.
    Any suggestions for a slider seat?
    I’ve seen TR80 mk5, FGT elite/ lite/ 160. But don’t know the difference between them. I’m 5’11”& 70k

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your question Moonlight. The Next Level Racing F-GT Lite would be the most affordable option ( th-cam.com/video/B9w_4PwtAj4/w-d-xo.html ). However, when running a CSL DD, you'd probably want to use extra straps to increase the rigidity of the rig. See my recent review of the GT Lite Pro for more insights here ( th-cam.com/video/JJpJ7OPT9Lw/w-d-xo.html ). The F-GT Elite is a fantastic option, with the 160 version utlilising thicker aluminium profile. However, as you know, it's a more expensive cockpit. Have you considered the F-GT? It's a solid mid-range rig built with carbon steel and very easy to adjust driving positions. You can also use our coupon code 'ADAPT' to get 5% discount at Next Level Racing ( adaptnet.work/F-GT ). Hope that helps. 👍

    Great review! I just finished building mine and waiting for seat to come in tomorrow. Your wheel position and shifter position are helping me see how I’m going to fine tune things once the seat is in place. Right now the standard shifter position seems too high and forward for me. I have the Fanatec SQ 1.5. Wheel deck is also high when rig is initially built. Thanks

      Thanks for your kind words mate-I'm stoked you found the review useful. You can actually lower the shifter arm right to the base if needed. In this case, simply install the shifter support bar in front of the shifter plate, so it doesn't get in the way (14:09). 👍

      Not including the PC or monitor, the total cost of this setup is £2,742 (UK) / $3,148.99 (US). See the cost breakdown below. 👇
      F-GT Elite cockpit - front & side mount edition: £999 (UK) / $1,099.99 (US) - amzn.to/3JUOHnx
      ES1 sim racing seat: £399 (UK) / $449 (US) - amzn.to/3IPRayn
      Fanatec CSL DD wheel base (8Nm): £420 (UK) / $500 (US) - adaptnet.work/CSLDD
      Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel R300: £420 (UK) / $500 (US) - adaptnet.work/R300
      Fanatec Clubsport Pedals V3: £340 (UK) / $400 (US) - adaptnet.work/CSPedalsV3
      Thrustmaster TH8A shifter: £164 (UK) / $200 (US) - amzn.to/3SRQr5Y
      Fully assembled, the F-GT Elite has a base footprint of just 121 x 65cm (4:01). However, you’ll probably need to allow for more space to accommodate the seat, pedal deck and shifter mount, depending on their orientations. Hope that helps. 👍

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment Giuseppe. It depends on what type of experience you're looking for really. Both seats are comfortable, however, the ERS1 is definitely the most comfy over long driving sessions and has independent recline adjustment. The ES1 though, feels more like a race-ready bucket seat, which helps with the immersion factor. Hope that helps. 👍

      @supercededman 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd add to Adapt's reply that the bucket does not flex at all. Due to their design, all reclining seats flex, but this seems to be not a major issue for all but the most discerning racers.

    May I ask what your height is? I ask because someone (5' 7-1/2") posted in reddit about the wheel being too close to the torso. With the pedals already close back at rear-most part of the wheel's slant bar, pushing the wheel's slant bar forward pushes pedals forward too, making the pedals out of reach. Like the design was made for taller individuals.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your question JGloc. I'm about 5ft 9.5 inches (176.5cm) and average build. As you can see from the video, I was able to drive in a very comfortable position and there is room to move the pedals closer still. There is also scope to move the wheel plate or wheel side-mount brackets back a bit. Hope that helps. 👍

      @@ADAPTNetwork I see. Worried it might be at the limits for shorter guys. In hindsight, just saw you also reviewed the GT Elite. Perhaps that would provide more room backwards? As I saw the pedal arms could be brought further back, is this accurate? Or are they both the same (F-GT Elite and GT Elite... brake to wheel plate)?
      One more favor pls. Do you know the height from the ground until the highest mounting point on the seat brackets? Would like to compare the height from my NLR Elite office chair's lowest position. Thanks!

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good spot @@jgloc25; on the GT Elite, the pedal deck arms are connected on the inside edge of the wheel mount uprights. By defualt, they connect using a long pass-through bolt, which limits the amount of backward movement. However, you could use T-nuts instead, which would enable you to slide the pedal deck further back ( th-cam.com/video/czXXNvPJaPI/w-d-xo.html ). Does that make sense?
      Regarding the seat height: the highest seat mounting point is about 30cm from the floor, on the F-GT Elite, and 20cm from the floor, on the GT Elite (without feet installed).

    • @jgloc25
      @jgloc25 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment M & C-I'm stoked you liked the review. Like Andrew says, it's not difficult to switch your shifter from side to side, but it is a bit time consuming. I would suggest reaching out to Next Level Racing to purchase an additional shifter arm and shifer plate. Next Level Racing has also just released the ERS1 seat ( th-cam.com/video/9NUVtCPOUvk/w-d-xo.html ). I'll be reviewing this shortly and it could be a good option if you want a reclining seat. Hope that helps. 👍

      Thanks for your comment Aruba. I'm a big fan of Sim-Lab rigs also (see my GT1 Evo review: th-cam.com/video/TtfTOfG8xb0/w-d-xo.html ). To clarify though, the F-GT Elite does come with feet (11:30). However, I chose not to install these because the rig slides reasonably well on carpet without them. Additionally, with my Fanatec CSL DD and ClubSport V3 pedals, I didn't notice any flex. Based on profile thickness, however, the P1 X is probably slightly more flex resistant for very high-end pedals. Like you said though, the F-GT Elite has the advantage of being able to support both formula and GT driving positions easily. 👍

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts @@amigoz3201. The F-GT Elite has been designed to switch between formula, GT, and multiple hybrid configurations straight out-of-the-box. Additionally, it's fully compatible with Next Level Racing's motion ecosystem and comes with a number of included extras. It's also worth pointing out that the retail price includes shipping. I agree though, that the XT120 looks very good value for money as an aluminum profile GT rig. 👍

      Hi Tornadeitor, thanks for your question. The pedal deck uprights are about 50cm in length, so the pedals can be raised to a maximum height of about 40cm from the base profile. Hope that helps. 👍

    Hey adapt nextwork great review mate am currently in the market looking for a new rig too but am in a loft bedroom for mine so space can be quite limited until i change my room around by moving my bed to another room we have and ive measured it out so it comes to Seat height is 100cm width from top view is 50cm bottom is 45cm the length is 130cm and pedal plate is width 36cm by length 30cm thats a playseat evolution rig am currently on but not too keen on it as find it awkward to get in and out of it with the centre column dont like it between my legs and always feel cramped in a hunch position with the wheel deck because theres not much room for manoeuvre currently have same wheel rig as you too but the formula v2 rim red version and csl pedals along with advanced paddle module was looking at this one but the price for it is ridiculous in my eyes then you have to buy seat separately which is incredibly expensive so if you know of any other options that would fit the middle range budget if you like it would be helpful looking at the psr1 rig too by next level anywhere also the trak racer tr80 or gt1 evo as another option

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your kind words Dan-I'm stoked you liked the review. I think the F-GT Elite will be a bit too big for your current space. The Sim-Lab GT1 Evo could be a good option (here's my review: th-cam.com/video/TtfTOfG8xb0/w-d-xo.html ). It has a base footprint of 135 x 55cm, so you may need to find a little extra space still. Hope that helps. 👍

      @@ADAPTNetwork yeah am leading more towards that mate after watching your review on that too just a question would the playseat its self along with the rails that come with be able to screw on to the base of the evo ? thats what am thinking of doing 🤔And with me being in the uk too like when i got the csl dd from fanatec are there brexit charges still in place if you know ? And one more if i did do that with the seat should i buy any extra parts before i place my order ?

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanMufc-jt9le In order to mount the Playseat Evolution seat to the GT1 Evo, I think you would need an additional seat slider ( adaptnet.work/7jG5 ). You would then bend the seat slider to match the width of the seat, bolt it to the base of the seat, and then bolt the seat slider to the seat rails of the cockpit. Does that make sense? It's also worth picking up the shifter & handbrake mount, as this doesn't come with the cockpit as standard ( adaptnet.work/6Muv ).
      Digital Motorsports has a blog post regarding post-Brexit import charges (see here: adaptnet.work/3WhT ). My understanding is that products are sold without VAT. The shipping company then charges UK VAT and a small handling. Hope that helps. 👍

      @@ADAPTNetwork right ok mate thats good to know very helpful mate thanks for that would it be worth sticking with the standard wheel base mount you get with the evo to hold the csl dd bare in mind i got the 8nm one or get sim labs upgraded one ? am not an expert on diy myself so just thinking of a list on what to buy Am also thinking i currently play on a lg c1 48 inch tv for xbox/ps5 etc so like the monitor stand you show in the video would that hold the weight you reckon so i could have that as my ultimate gaming rig 😍and can sit back chill out on my playseat and play games when not driving or would that look overkill on it 🤔Am not to bothered about shifter and mount at the moment as i have the paddle advanced module on my wheel base so ill just use them for now And how was the delivery days for you mate how long did it take for them to send it you and if you had any probs ?

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanMufc-jt9le I also have the 8Nm boost kit for the CSL DD and I think the standard GT1 Evo wheel deck would be perfectly stable. As I mentioned in the review, the GT1 Evo comes with a pack of M8 washers to ensure a more rigid connection between the wheel deck and frame. However, it's also worth picking up a pack of M6 washers to help with mounting the wheel base to the wheel deck. Additionally, the Sim-Lab side-mount brackets ( adaptnet.work/7jI4 ) are not compatible with the single screen holder I reviewed. That being said, I think the single screen holder would be more than strong enough to support your 48 inch TV. And, if you did want to use the side-mount brackets, you could still mount your TV using the integrated monitor mount ( adaptnet.work/7jI6 ). Regarding shipping, my GT1 Evo arrived before the new Brexit rules came into place. However, subsequent deliveries from Europe have been pretty speedy. Hope that helps. 👍
