Awesome video Jon! Straight to the point of letting us hear the nice exhaust notes and feel the twisties riding along with you - woohoo 👍 I’m a little jealous as I have to wait another month to experience that feeling again 😬
Greetings from England. I love the Suzuki GS models. Had a GS 850 many years ago and several GSXR 750 models, currently have a GSXS1000 which I think is awesome, but after watching several of your videos on your beautiful GS1100 I am definitely looking out for one to add to my collection. Very enjoyable video! Ride safe.
Thank you! I love the GS line. I've got a similar video of my GS1100G coming out shortly as well so stay tuned. There's just something cool about the older bikes. With a few easy tweaks you can transform the performance. I've owned the GSXS1000 and it is an awesome machine. I would like to ride the newer sport-touring version at some point.
horsepower is nice, i enjoy it now & then.but globs of torque at any rpm will ALLWAYS put a smile on your face.looks like you have it set up nicely.enjoy the ride.
Yeah, Jon, I think I'm going to look for one of those. Same as my XS1100, but no fairing/bags. Just a big, beautiful BIKE, with TONS of power! I will probably put on a "slipstream" windscreen though.
@@Алексей-с8п7у Well, I'm not going to be selling my Yami, Good// Great bikes. really seems like cousins to that big Suzi. I'm just going to want to have what they call a naked bike, while keeping my big XS1100H.
@@Алексей-с8п7у Yes, if you're looking for a naked XS1100, look for the "Standard" model, not the "Special", because of the Tank size, the pull-back bars, everyone says that they're scarey to ride with. Myself, I've put the bars of an old '82 Honda CB900C and I've got some extenders, because of the tank on the Yami that's some 4" longer than the 4.4 gal tank of the Honda. For an older guy like me you don't want to be "hunched" over the front end of the bike. So, the bars, with the 1" up, 1" back extenders work/fit me perfectly!
I’m considering a Delkevic exhaust for my 1980 GS850G. How is the sound at constant higher RPM’s? I cruise the highways in Iowa where the speed limit is 70 mph and my GS (5 speed) sits around 6,000 rpm. Is the exhaust excessively loud and droning at that RPM?
@a_ham_like_me I wear earplugs when I ride, and I love the sound of the Delkevic. It isn't overly obnoxious like some other exhaust systems, but it is louder than stock.
I would love to have that bike brings back a lot of great memories
Right on! If I decide to sell it, I'll post a video on the channel. Cheers!
Very nicely filmed. You are a great salesman for the old GS line. 👍
Thanks! I'm at home on a GS.
What a beautiful day and a symphony of I 4.Pure pleasure to listen to this.Thank you very much.
You're welcome! Cheers
Great looking bike. All I can think of is a deer jumping out of those fields. Too many in my area.
Thanks Corby! I'm a firm believer in "loud pipes save lives". 🙂
Bike sounds and looks great. Enjoyed the video and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
Thanks Henry!
Best sounding bike of yours, that i have heard so far :)
Right on! I also love the sound of the GS1100GL and GS1100G with the Delkevic exhaust.

Thanks Kirsh! I'm still waiting for nice weather as well. This video was put together as a kind of highlight reel from my GS1100L playlist.

Thank you! Yeah, you gotta love excess torque.
Beautiful, very unique sound ☺️
I completely agree Ciaran - I love the sound of the GS1100 motor with the Delkevic pipe!

It's true about handlebars, I owned kawasaki kz ltd with one of them, comfort, but poor handling..
That's a rare bike I had one back in the day...the L stands for the Laverne model..
Right on!
Ive got a 81 gs750 and i love that bike
Right on!
Nice riding! Where did you order your exhaust from?
Thanks! www.Delkevic.com
Thanks for posting Jon! I get it!
You bet Steven!
gd vid jon. and a gd bike.
Thanks David!
The Suzuki LTD. I always wondered why they never put belt drives on some of these bikes instead of chain or shaft?
Good question. Belt-drive wasn't nearly as popular in the early 1980's. It was either chain or shaft for the most part.
From stock to Delkevic, did you have to jet as well? I have owned an '82 GS850 for decades, never messed with the exhaust.
I went one size up on mains and pilots. Warms up quicker and runs great.

What handlebars are those. Just bought a 1980 1100L and want to swap them out. Or at least some specs on them (rise and width)
They are the Emgo Magna Wide handlebars. I really like them on this bike. Cheers!
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 big thank you brother. Never thought I’d get a reply back with the video being so old.

Nice sound, Let me know if you decide to sell or email me your updated list. Thanks
Thanks, Tyrone. Will do.
I don’t suppose you have the passenger grab rail for it and would like to sell it ..??
No, sorry. But if you find two, I'm interested in the other one. Cheers!
