As an ex-christian myself who use to debate with muslims, i can say that usually Christians who understand their bibles don't argue with muslims on these topics.

Assolamolaykum, I am sure that Don does not know the Bible. When I used to be Christian I learned that Mary (May Allah be pleased with her) conceived Jesus (Peace be upon him) at age 11. And they said we know this because she married Joseph at 12. I am not Christian any more, Allah guided me to Islam and may he continue to guide me, amin. But Christians who take this modern day “age of consent” and apply it to the past always shoot them selves in the foot. And once they learn a little history they start to have mental labor pains. The creator gave his word that this last book would never be corrupted nor changed like the two previous ones, and of course it was followed through. I’m not a fan of religions talking bad about other religions or beliefs..I have heard many unsettling things about the Muslim faith but am no wiser for it. I still am in the dark to much of what your faith is about. I do wonder though if one truly seeks God and truth does it matter which path you start on or which path you end on? My hope is our hearts are not hard and We remain open to receiving his divine correction should our paths stray or need course change.

The age in Islam is puberty. That's literally the point of puberty. Your body becomes ready for that specific activity. We live in a society today that literally labels 20+yo College students kids. You can look up any story about a college athlete getting into trouble and the media pundits will say "he's still a kid he has a lot of growing to do" when in actual objective reality he was an adult after puberty ran its course. We operate on a secular arbitrary standard legally today. Because Christian leaders don't know how to defend their faith they just acquiesce to secular standards. You have mostly Christians to thank for the idea that laws should be based on the whims of men instead of guidance from God. Age of consent isn't even the same in all US states. Most states have it set at 16 and Zero states outlaw sex before marriage or butt sex or pron etc. In fact in the US it is legal for a man to make himself look like a woman and trick men into sleeping with him. We accept no influence from such a deviant society on the issue of sex. None whatsoever. California even reduced the penalty for knowingly spreading STDs from 3-8 years in prison to 6 months. We've been conditioned to accept certain standards without contemplating them and figuring out the rationale behind them. Someone like Don doesn't even have a rationale. A Muslim brother I know has a 13yo daughter who currently has 23 college credits and is set to potentially graduate with an associate degree by age 14 without a HS diploma or GED. She also teaches jiu-jitsu. Ppl develop mentally and physically at different paces due to many factors. There isn't a 1 size fits all age to determine development. Some ppl won't be mentally fit for marriage or parenthood even after 30, some ppl will never be fit.

I just want to add also, that in the early 1900’s in the US, it was very common for an older man and a younger girl to marry because the female was brought up learning to take care of the home, the children, everything it took to take care of a home and family, the man had to have a stable job, money saved, he had to be established before getting married. It wasn’t every case but it was very common. I do genealogy and that was very common up until this century. Im not saying that I condone older men being with young girls in any way, im just stating that this is the only century that it became unacceptable. Also, even in the early 1900’s and before, many people didn’t know their actual ages, especially in other countries, many places don’t use birth records, census, etc. my Great Grandmother was 15 her husband was 36, my Great grandmother thought she was 2 years younger than she actually was because she was sent away as a small child and was told a different age. These things have happened throughout history in every culture. Many slaves, Native American tribes also never knew their age or lineage. Learning history gives one a different perspective on these things

As a christian I am not going to sit down and argue with somebody over who's faith is real and who's is not. I understand not everybody is the same watching this channel it has given me valuable insight into islam. The problem with modern christianity is that a lot of christians feel like they need to argue with everybody about their religion while also looking at the bible, torah, and Quran. My Grand mother was Legally married to my grand father when she was 14 according to British law.. That was in the 1940s when Bangladesh was English colony. They had 10 kids. My grand pa passed away at early 40s from heart Attack. They didn't know their exact birthdays according to my grand mother.

Nowhere in Bible does it say Rebekah was 3 years old when she married Isaac. The Bible simple does not mention the age of Rebekah. And I am not talking about a commentary from a Jewish Rabbi. Please read (Genesis 24:14-21) also read the account of Rebekahs conversations with Abraham's servant at (Genesis 24:22-25) . At the time she married Isaac, Rebekah was clearly old enough to draw water on her own, carry a water jar on her shoulders and water the camels. She was also old enough to have an intelligent conversation with Abraham's servant and understand the world around her. Clearly not a 3 year old toddler. In Islam maturity is defined by a state of mind and periods not age. In Africa we have 14 year olds who are more prepared for motherhood than older Americans due to how harsh their life is. Saudi back then was somewhat war torn and also it was harsh back then so she matured far quicker due to the environment she grew up in. The prophet even refused to marry a woman due to the fact that she had some sort of mental disorder as she could not consent to marriage properly.
I’m not a fan of Don…However, nowhere in the bible does it state that Rebecca was born at the same time that Sara died. That belief is based on false traditions, not the scriptures. Genesis 24:8 not only refers to Rebecca as a “woman” but it also says the marriage would be based on HER OWN CONSENT. She was not forced into it.

I've always had this question as a Muslim when it came to the life expectancy and the marriage of Aisha RA. The age expectancy was clearly low, but that was more so due to the fact that a lot of people would die as infants due to unfortunate circumstances and health issues. Most people that reached adulthood back then would live just as long as humans today. So it probably isn't the case that Muslims were completing their life cycle and becoming old by the time they were in their mid thirties. Also really wanted to know regarding Aisha RA's particular age. The most common that I've heard is that they married at 9 and consummated at 15. I know that looking at it from a modern lens is wrong but really wished that segment was talked about longer in this vid.
bro the fact of the matter is it doesn't matter whether she was 9 at consummation because age of majority is determined by mental and physical maturity. Biologically speaking a female and a male would not go through puberty if they weren't capable of intercourse at that age. Otherwise we wouldn't have the ability to do so. The concept of physical maturity is set in stone but what is deemed mature has varied over time. Mental maturity is dependent on society, what is required of an adult in that society. There wasn't such thing as formal education for the entire population through to 18 anywhere up until the last 2 centuries. Besides, the reason 18 is the age of majority isnt because everyone decided that anyone below that age is incapable of being mature. Did you know the age of adulthood was dropped from 21 to 18 in America because they needed a way to get more troops into Vietnam?Now we understand that in this current day and age to be mature you need to be a little older which is fine, but it doesn't negate the legitimacy of Aisha RA marriage at her age. When we look at things through a bias of recency, we tend to find anything before a certain time strange. That places her at 18 at consumation, but we can't say for sure. What we can say is that this had to be a just marriage, because Prophet Muhammad PBUH has talked about the use of experts to evaluate marriages and reduce harm.

We don’t know the time in which Rebecca was born and it isn’t proven that she was born at time of Sarah’s death. The precedent of Rebecca’s existence was stated a chapter before Sarah’s death was stated which makes more likely that Rebecca was born even before Sarah’s death.

The bible actually never says anything about Isaac marrying a 3 year old rebekah. As a matter of fact, when isaac's servant found rebekah she was 14 years of age. Isaac was married to rebekah when she was 17 years old (he was 40). However, "20 years elapsed before a child was born". So rebekah was at least over 30 years of age before being intimate in such a way with Isaac. This nonsense about her being 3 years old makes no sense. As an ex-christian myself who use to debate with muslims, i can say that usually Christians who understand their bibles don't argue with muslims on these topics.

I’m not a fan of religions talking bad about other religions or beliefs..I have heard many unsettling things about the Muslim faith but am no wiser for it. I still am in the dark to much of what your faith is about. I do wonder though if one truly seeks God and truth does it matter which path you start on or which path you end on? My hope is our hearts are not hard and We remain open to receiving his divine correction should our paths stray or need course change.

The age in Islam is puberty. That's literally the point of puberty. Your body becomes ready for that specific activity.
We live in a society today that literally labels 20+yo College students kids. You can look up any story about a college athlete getting into trouble and the media pundits will say "he's still a kid he has a lot of growing to do" when in actual objective reality he was an adult after puberty ran its course.
We operate on a secular arbitrary standard legally today. Because Christian leaders don't know how to defend their faith they just acquiesce to secular standards. You have mostly Christians to thank for the idea that laws should be based on the whims of men instead of guidance from God.
Age of consent isn't even the same in all US states. Most states have it set at 16 and Zero states outlaw sex before marriage or butt sex or pron etc. In fact in the US it is legal for a man to make himself look like a woman and trick men into sleeping with him.
We accept no influence from such a deviant society on the issue of sex. None whatsoever. California even reduced the penalty for knowingly spreading STDs from 3-8 years in prison to 6 months.
We've been conditioned to accept certain standards without contemplating them and figuring out the rationale behind them. Someone like Don doesn't even have a rationale. I just want to add also, that in the early 1900’s in the US, it was very common for an older man and a younger girl to marry because the female was brought up learning to take care of the home, the children, everything it took to take care of a home and family, the man had to have a stable job, money saved, he had to be established before getting married. It wasn’t every case but it was very common. I do genealogy and that was very common up until this century. Im not saying that I condone older men being with young girls in any way, im just stating that this is the only century that it became unacceptable. Also, even in the early 1900’s and before, many people didn’t know their actual ages, especially in other countries, many places don’t use birth records, census, etc. my Great Grandmother was 15 her husband was 36, my Great grandmother thought she was 2 years younger than she actually was because she was sent away as a small child and was told a different age. These things have happened throughout history in every culture. Many slaves, Native American tribes also never knew their age or lineage. Learning history gives one a different perspective on these things

It's also important to make the distinction between marriage and consummation. Marriage itself is not an inherently sexual thing. It's a joining of families and commitments. It was even normal in some cultures to decide who will marry who before the people were even born. For example "The first born boy of family X, will marry the first born girl of Family Y", and that would be agreed upon in advance. I'm not saying this is what happened in Islam, but rather it underscores the role marriage in the history of the world. Marriage nowadays has become a kind of narcissistic party for the couple, it's not really about the social, economic, political or religious bonds.

Nowhere in Bible does it say Rebekah was 3 years old when she married Isaac. The Bible simple does not mention the age of Rebekah. And I am not talking about a commentary from a Jewish Rabbi. Please read (Genesis 24:14-21) also read the account of Rebekahs conversations with Abraham's servant at (Genesis 24:22-25) . At the time she married Isaac, Rebekah was clearly old enough to draw water on her own, carry a water jar on her shoulders and water the camels. She was also old enough to have an intelligent conversation with Abraham's servant and understand the world around her. Clearly not a 3 year old toddler. Please only base your arguments on the Bible itself and not a fallible Jewish Rabbi.

In Islam maturity is defined by a state of mind and periods not age. In Africa we have 14 year olds who are more prepared for motherhood than older Americans due to how harsh their life is. Saudi back then was somewhat war torn and also it was harsh back then so she matured far quicker due to the environment she grew up in. The prophet even refused to marry a woman due to the fact that she had some sort of mental disorder as she could not consent to marriage properly.

Genesis 24:8 not only refers to Rebecca as a “woman” but it also says the marriage would be based on HER OWN CONSENT. She was not forced into it.

I've always had this question as a Muslim when it came to the life expectancy and the marriage of Aisha RA. The age expectancy was clearly low, but that was more so due to the fact that a lot of people would die as infants due to unfortunate circumstances and health issues. Most people that reached adulthood back then would live just as long as humans today. So it probably isn't the case that Muslims were completing their life cycle and becoming old by the time they were in their mid thirties. Also really wanted to know regarding Aisha RA's particular age. The most common that I've heard is that they married at 9 and consummated at 15. I know that looking at it from a modern lens is wrong but really wished that segment was talked about longer in this vid.

bro the fact of the matter is it doesn't matter whether she was 9 at consummation because age of majority is determined by mental and physical maturity. Biologically speaking a female and a male would not go through puberty if they weren't capable of intercourse at that age. Otherwise we wouldn't have the ability to do so. The concept of physical maturity is set in stone but what is deemed mature has varied over time. Mental maturity is dependent on society, what is required of an adult in that society. There wasn't such thing as formal education for the entire population through to 18 anywhere up until the last 2 centuries. Besides, the reason 18 is the age of majority isnt because everyone decided that anyone below that age is incapable of being mature. Did you know the age of adulthood was dropped from 21 to 18 in America because they needed a way to get more troops into Vietnam?Now we understand that in this current day and age to be mature you need to be a little older which is fine, but it doesn't negate the legitimacy of Aisha RA marriage at her age. When we look at things through a bias of recency, we tend to find anything before a certain time strange. regardless, we don't know aisha's age 100% as it wasn't really documented. The only actual historical account is based on the age of her sister, which we know. That places her at 18 at consumation, but we can't say for sure. What we can say is that this had to be a just marriage, because Prophet Muhammad PBUH has talked about the use of experts to evaluate marriages and reduce harm.

Rebecca’s age is actually ambiguous and not indicated to be concurrent with Sarah’s death whatsoever. Rebecca’s existence was first highlighted in Genesis 22 as being the daughter of Bethuel. We don’t know the time in which Rebecca was born and it isn’t proven that she was born at time of Sarah’s death. The precedent of Rebecca’s existence was stated a chapter before Sarah’s death was stated which makes more likely that Rebecca was born even before Sarah’s death.

There are people TODAY who don't know their exact birthday because of errors in hospital documents leaving contradictory information. It is perfectly possible that such a thing could happen in an even more extreme case in a time where documents were not frivolously kept about such things
The bible actually never says anything about Isaac marrying a 3 year old rebekah. As a matter of fact, when isaac's servant found rebekah she was 14 years of age. Isaac was married to rebekah when she was 17 years old (he was 40). However, "20 years elapsed before a child was born". So rebekah was at least over 30 years of age before being intimate in such a way with Isaac. This nonsense about her being 3 years old makes no sense. I don't see how a 3 year old could walk out of a tent and feed a camel water while speaking to isaac's servant herself.
