Not just los mexicanos, querido; I'm Salvatruca and watching Cliff watching Selena was like taking me back in time and remembering exactly how I found out Selena was murdered. She was taken from us in 1995 and even now, in 2023, I still tear up If I think or talk about her......like right now. It's so unfair that the truly talented and/or gifted are stripped away from us too soon. Plus, we all know what will happen to that jealous toad-faced murderess if/when she get out; almost forgot, she's a f*cking liar too. I feel that if the Spanish never showed up, Selena would've ended being an Aztec warrior princes or something; her voice would've made a phenomenal warrior cry.

Gah-lee she was an absolute powerhouse. I know people do the "what if they had lived" thing with celebs a lot but she's a HUGE one for me. In some other "her fan club leader is not a psycho" universe, she's 53 years old and they can't even build stadiums big enough to hold the audience.
Selena is the one that cuts the deepest when I try to imagine if she was still here. Yolanda is especially hated because every little Hispanic girl grows up loving her so much and no one else makes us feel that way she's special and Yolanda to her away.
I've have thought this, (and it may trigger the Beehive, but hopefully they may agree) but I think Selena would have been as big as Beyonce right now if not, bigger! Given that she was born 10 years ahead of Beyonce, and had multiple Grammies and records at 23 years old, annnd sold out stadiums....like let that sink in. She had this way of performing that was so innocent & comfortable, what I mean by that is, she performed like a young girl, holding a brush, singing in her bedroom... it was so natural for her. Especially since she didn't have any rehearsed choreography, change of wardrobe, stage gimmicks or many back up dancers/singers. This whole concert, she doesnt even take a sip of water! Just 100% performing.

Great reaction! Selena actually wasn’t throwing an ear piece; one of her earrings flew off when she was spinning so she flung the other one off too. I don’t think that Selena used in-ear monitors at this or at most of her performances, it wasn’t as common in the 90’s and was very expensive.

Hey Cliff, thanks for keeping up and fighting with youtube. i've been watching you for quite some time now and i love your videos. and TBH when im bored i just watch your videos all over again. specially the eminem ones. but just wanted to say something about this video. she didnt throws away the earpiece, i dont even think she ever used them. on the original video at minute 3:21, one of her earings falls and thats when she takes the other one off and throws it to the floor. That wasn’t her earpiece. That was her earring. One fell off so she pulled the other one off which tells me that she didn’t have pierced ears. They didn’t have to use earpieces to sing back then. It is hard To hear her talking about not laying down and dying, and that she will survive. She literally laid down in the lobby of the hotel, and died. So effing sad. She would be a force to be reckoned with.

I absolutely adore Selena. Became a fan through my mother playing her music and watching the movie. It was shortly after her passing, my mom and the family went to pay our respects at her gravesite and statue and seen the house she lived in. We even went to the boutique that her family ran and got to meet her parents. I was very young but I remember this trip. Thank you listening to Selena.

I know this sounds like bs, but I briefly worked for the man who brought her out on the horse carriage. IH Perry was his name, and he was the Grand Entry president of the Houston Rodeo for many years. He mostly brought out the female artists like Reba McEntire. The male artists usually came out riding a horse or on the bed of a pickup truck. My employment was 2002-2003, so it was 8 years after her passing. My ex was his ranch hand and I was his housekeeper and made him dinner. He was 88 and couldn’t hear much anymore, but he had the eyesight of an eagle. Core memory unlocked~

It still makes me angry to this day that this young woman at the very top of her game was so brutally murdered in cold blood at 23yrs of age by an absolute scumbag who thought it was alright to rip her off, just watch the documentary about her life, she never had a bad bone in her body, she was trusting of the people around her, the woman who killed her was thieving thousands of dollars from her and SELENA confronted her about it in a hotel room, she gave her plenty of opportunity to come clean, she then pulled out a gun and shot her, there is video footage of SELENA running out of the room with gunshot wounds, she ran a couple of hundred yards to the hotel reception and collapsed, people trying in vein to revive her but to no avail, absolutely outrageous, and to think that Selena never ever moved out of her original neighborhood thet she was brought up in, R.I.P SELENA we still love and remember you to this very day 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

At 5:25 she did not throw off her earpiece the way Cliff thought it happened. What happened was that her other earring fell off a few moments before. So, she decided to take the other earring left on her ear off so it would not look weird wearing just one. She always thought about her clothes and accessories and knew instantly how to fix them to look sexy or take them off on the fly such as the earring.
