But she truly was a representation & a voice for the entire hispanic community. She was my everything when I was a little girl. I have a ton of home videos of me dressing in outfits that look similar to hers and I would have my older sister do my makeup like hers and my hair.. I would dance and sing her songs for hours!! She was such an incredible talent. I miss her & always wonder where she would be today, if she was still alive. Probably stealing every award and putting on amazing stadium tour shows. I grew up listening to her my whole childhood. She passed away when I was a little girl and my family didn't tell me because they knew it would be hard for me to understand. It wasn't till I decided to do a school project on her when I was in middle school I found out she had died. I literally sat there in my room sobbing for hours man.

I’m Mexican/American as well . Grew up in The 90s. My parents got to see her perform at a small venue. Here in Michigan! I’m extremely jealous. I think I speak for all Mexican Americans and everyone that comes across her music when I say , that we so proud of her. She is beloved .
