Nice install video . How do we adjust the pattern and what should the cutoff pattern look like? Can’t find anything about this problem. Constantly getting flashed.
If you are watching this video in 2018 and you decide to order them, make sure you wait until your receive the headlights to order the HID conversion kit. I made the mistake of ordering the H7 bulbs HID kit, and they didn't fit because newer headlights come for D2S bubls. After ordering the right part I just gotta say absolutely love them. The D2S bulbs fit right in and the lights look awesome. On any informational sign you will see a purple reflection that turns blue then mostly white. Combine the new lights with the fog lights and the car looks totally meaner. Next upgrade, springs, to make those reflections bounce quicker. Another note, you can easily remove the bumper by yourself. Thank you DAP, this was a great upgrade to my Mk7.
Hi am about to order a pair of Helix for my MK7 that came with regular halogens. My question is what is this kit that everyone buy for a hundred dollars on the top of this one am a little bit confused?
I have the same lights and they work as advertised, no coding. Love the look of the U shaped LEDs it really changes the look of the car, notice that if you want the stripes on the headlights to align with the grill you will need to buy a lighting package Grill but to be honest is so minimal that you have to be really OCD not to keep the non LP grill
HumbleMechanic or Deutsche Auto Parts (Paul) I'm getting a dark spot in the middle of the beam projection and it appears the passenger side light beam is shifted to the right when compared to the driver's side beam. Do either of you know how to adjust the side-to-side projection for the low beam for these headlights? I can try to loosen the headlight housings, but they appear straight. I saw the high/low adjustments for the high & low beans, but I didn't notice a side to side adjustment. Fwiw it's on a golf sportwagen. They look great, otherwise. Amazing looking headlamps.
Honestly I’m a dumbass. I almost lost my mind trying to figure out why I was getting low beam error codes then after watching this video I figured you you need to PLUG THE HALOGENS IN. OMFG. I love you thank you so much!

Hi Paul....as always, thanks for all that you do in educating us on our MK7's. These videos are truly priceless and immeasurably helpful . I do have a quick question.....so I have a base S model Mk7 and the one thing I can't stand about this base lighting package is that the stock halogens have that "yellow" appearance to them and, in tandem with the fogs (which are bright white LEDs), there is a stark difference in the color tone of the lights. These Helix aftermarkets look like a great option to eliminate that since the low-beams are LEDs too; however, when the hi-beams are engaged (and I'm understanding that we are using the stock hi-beam "yellow" bulb in the swap-over), does it still have that yellowish halogen appearance coming thru the middle of that low-beam LED? I know there won't be a disparity with thye fogs cuz they will extinguish when hi-beams are engaged....but I'm wondering if I now will have to deal with the disparity of the yellow halogen hi-beams workign in tandem with the bright white low-beam LED?
I followed this to remove my mk7 GTI bumper this morning. I noticed I couldn’t remove my bumper following the steps of just unclipping, when I had a further look... I had two more T25 screws attaching the bumper, underneath where the grill is removed from. Just in case anyone else might have the same thing!
Would be great if you could do a video on removing the golf7 back bumper so as to perfectly seal all water ingress points.. some people recommend windscreen sealant that remains softish others recommend silicone and also I've seen waterproof foam for around lights. Silicone grease too but I'm afraid water washes it aware

Just installed these and a word of advice if you do get the opportunity to purchase a pair of these headlights be sure to be ready to spend the money on the accompanying HID kit as anything less will result in dangerously dim beam patterns DO NOT SWAP OVER THE H7 that is from the OEM headlight housing and place them in the new housing YOU MUST ORDER D1S OR HID KIT!

Moisture got inside and all the circuit boards are corroded and rusted. Now the LEDs flicker and stop working. Is there any way I can buy the circuit boards from you or any place you know so I can do a DIY fix instead of buying a new set of headlights?

Will the red stripes on these headlights align with the red stripe on the grill, or do you still need the main grille assembly for have an aligned red stripe line?

I had an MK 5 jetta and made the mistake of installing LED lights into standard OE lens (non-projector). When it rained, the light would refract in such a way that it was down right dangerous. Now I have an MK6 Jetta SE. Can you recommend an upgraded lens and zenon kit for this vehicle? My 2002 Audi TT has the best zenon lighting OE. I would like to come close with the jetta too! Thnx, RS.

+mbrunnme I'm not clear what you're referring to when you say high beam assist. Sounds like you might have a lighting package car. If so these are not for you.

Hi Amigo! This lights the active angle movement when turning on corners will still work? You now when you took a corner the lights slightly move in the way you turning. At least this function came on the mexican GTI MK7. Definitely love how the 2 leds look, instead only 1. Tankes for your time, and again I LOVE your VIDEOS!!!

Hey just one question, I have the helix lights im 99% sure (bought them from an ebay vendor and they are identical to helix) they can't be ed's because the indicator section matches the helix lights. My question is, whenever the main beams are on the drl's pretty much turn off (or dim to like 5% brightness value). Where in your video the drl's stay on with the main beam. Ive tried vcds but cant fix it.
Looks like you swapped the halogen bulb during install, and at the end of the video low beams are white? Would I need to get a HID kit to make it look like the lights at the end of the video?
Hey, DAP I have a '16, black GTI and am looking at either the red stripe helix lights or the black ones. If I go with your red ones, I'll need the proper grille you sell as I want everything to line up so it doesn't look silly. If I go with the black ones, will I need a new grille or will the black ones sort of blend in with the car? Thanks, looking forward to upgrading the lights!
If you go with the black the line in the headlights still wont line up with the grille but the fact they are black means it wont be nearly as obvious. Thanks for watching and hope that helps.

I got the 7.5 a year ago but don’t like it too much cause I bought the ones w the black housing by mistake, so I’m paranoid to buy something wrong. And I like the original look headlights. Make sure to put protection ceramic protection on lenses, I will do so every 6 months this time around. I put protection and one headlight worn out a little hole a year in.

Hi. On your product page it says both low and high beam are H7. high included, low should be taken from our original headlight. I have two questions for you. 1) I have a 2015 mk7 with halogen lights and on both Philips and Osram web sites it says the low beam is H7 and high beam is H15. will I be using H7 instead of H15 if I install your headlights ? 2) My lights looks yellow as original. When DRL's and low beam are on together, wont they look in different colors or should I buy H7's that look bright white. Thanks in advance.
Just installed these on my 2017 Alltrack and the high beams isn’t even a beam, it’s high and scattered and does not do anything for lighting up the road. It’s basically like having only low beams now. Any suggestions on getting the high beam to act as a beam that is useful?
I just bought a set of these! What position does the h7 bulb go in the low beam? There is no socket for the pin that sticks out on the bulb. Also, the 2 adjustment on the back are for the projector low beam correct?

I have installed these lights on my vw golf mr7, all is good but they are to low, I have the adjuster in the car on 3 but they will not go any higher, do these lights adjust so I can get them to go higher by hand? there is a adjuster on them but it says main beam! I need the low beam to go up. I have also tried to trick the car lighting, putting the switch on 3, then unplugging the lights going back in the car putting the switch on 1 the re-plugging the lights thinking the lights will stay up, but they just go down again. so need your help.. How did you take the old bulb from the halogens and put them in the new one and they are LED and not yellow? I installed mk7.5 headlights on my mk7 GTI and switched the bulb and there night light is yellow, rest is LED... Where did I go wrong lol
Thank you so much for the amazing tutorial. I had the helix mk7.5 headlights installed by local mechanics and they didn't tell me they changed the H4 bulbs to H7 bulbs. I pulled the bumper and had to go out and get H7 bulbs smh. The only problem I had was installing the lower bumper screws, the factory locations were stripped from the mechanic. I had to drill new locations to fit the screws. Still better than spending $125 to get the bulbs replaced. I'll be looking into getting a Toyota tacoma, I'm so sick of all of the proprietary parts and tools of German cars. The Mercedes I own is just as bad. I enjoy the speed and acceleration of my 406 whp mk7 gti but I'd much rather have something easy to work on. Even oil changes are a bitch with the special tools and parts. I'd like to have a car where you can find all maitence parts at autozone instead of the stealership or ECS/urotuning.
so I currently have a gti with halogen lights, and is at the shop to install headlights I ordered on amazon which was 499. red stripe with led turn signal h7 bulbs and etc. what I want to know is how do I operate the lights to just drive with the uU Uu on and not the bulbs? the sellers name was promotoring. MK6 GLI: You can remove the headlights by removing the grill only, no need to remove the bumper, after you remove the screws just remove the harness by PULLING the tab and jiggle the whole headlight out of the car. No damage, just some elbow grease and care. I wasnt fixing to remove the whole dang bumper for a DRL...THE MORE YOU KNOW

You will need to add the HID bulbs & balast yourself or you can use Halogen H7 bulbs call shopDAB and should help you with that

4000 miles on my MK7 and spiders have already crawled inside of my headlights and died. Great video as always. I should have bought a Honda.

The low beams are supposed to be swapped over and yes it definitely looks like they used HIDs in the demonstration at the end.

Hi Paul, if I am swapping stock LED USDM R headlights to the OEM Euro R headlights. is there any parts from the stock R headlights that need to be swapped over to the Euro R headlights, other than the bulbs? Also, is there any coding or harness required? (Is it direct plug and play?) Thanks

Hey just one question, I have the helix lights im 99% sure (bought them from an ebay vendor and they are identical to helix) they can't be ed's because the indicator section matches the helix lights. My question is, whenever the main beams are on the drl's pretty much turn off (or dim to like 5% brightness value). Where in your video the drl's stay on with the main beam. Ive tried vcds but cant fix it.

Looks like you swapped the halogen bulb during install, and at the end of the video low beams are white? Would I need to get a HID kit to make it look like the lights at the end of the video?
+Phyo Aung Yes the operation video has HIDs installed. You could also swap in a cooler temp halogen bulb to get the blue/white effect

Hey, DAP I have a '16, black GTI and am looking at either the red stripe helix lights or the black ones. If I go with your red ones, I'll need the proper grille you sell as I want everything to line up so it doesn't look silly. If I go with the black ones, will I need a new grille or will the black ones sort of blend in with the car? Thanks, looking forward to upgrading the lights!
If you go with the black the line in the headlights still wont line up with the grille but the fact they are black means it wont be nearly as obvious.

I got the 7.5 a year ago but don’t like it too much cause I bought the ones w the black housing by mistake, so I’m paranoid to buy something wrong. And I like the original look headlights.
Make sure to put protection ceramic protection on lenses, I will do so every 6 months this time around.
I put protection and one headlight worn out a little hole a year in.

Hi. On your product page it says both low and high beam are H7. high included, low should be taken from our original headlight. I have two questions for you. 1) I have a 2015 mk7 with halogen lights and on both Philips and Osram web sites it says the low beam is H7 and high beam is H15. will I be using H7 instead of H15 if I install your headlights ? 2) My lights looks yellow as original. When DRL's and low beam are on together, wont they look in different colors or should I buy H7's that look bright white. Thanks in advance.

Just installed these on my 2017 Alltrack and the high beams isn’t even a beam, it’s high and scattered and does not do anything for lighting up the road. It’s basically like having only low beams now. Any suggestions on getting the high beam to act as a beam that is useful?
I just bought a set of these! What position does the h7 bulb go in the low beam? There is no socket for the pin that sticks out on the bulb. Also, the 2 adjustment on the back are for the projector low beam correct?

Hi. I have installed these lights on my vw golf mr7, all is good but they are to low, I have the adjuster in the car on 3 but they will not go any higher, do these lights adjust so I can get them to go higher by hand? there is a adjuster on them but it says main beam! I need the low beam to go up. I have also tried to trick the car lighting, putting the switch on 3, then unplugging the lights going back in the car putting the switch on 1 the re-plugging the lights thinking the lights will stay up, but they just go down again. so need your help.. How did you take the old bulb from the halogens and put them in the new one and they are LED and not yellow? I installed mk7.5 headlights on my mk7 GTI and switched the bulb and there night light is yellow, rest is LED... Where did I go wrong lol

I had the helix mk7.5 headlights installed by local mechanics and they didn't tell me they changed the H4 bulbs to H7 bulbs. I pulled the bumper and had to go out and get H7 bulbs smh.
The only problem I had was installing the lower bumper screws, the factory locations were stripped from the mechanic. I had to drill new locations to fit the screws.
Still better than spending $125 to get the bulbs replaced.
I'll be looking into getting a Toyota tacoma, I'm so sick of all of the proprietary parts and tools of German cars. The Mercedes I own is just as bad.
I enjoy the speed and acceleration of my 406 whp mk7 gti but I'd much rather have something easy to work on. Even oil changes are a bitch with the special tools and parts. I'd like to have a car where you can find all maitence parts at autozone instead of the stealership or ECS/urotuning.
Have you seen any condensation? I've heard aftermarket headlights are notorious for water problems.

so I currently have a gti with halogen lights, and is at the shop to install headlights I ordered on amazon which was 499. red stripe with led turn signal h7 bulbs and etc. what I want to know is how do I operate the lights to just drive with the uU Uu on and not the bulbs? the sellers name was promotoring. Did you swap it for HID Kit? If not your night lights are the original bulb?
Yes we did install an HID kit which is what you see in the operation video.

MK6 GLI: You can remove the headlights by removing the grill only, no need to remove the bumper, after you remove the screws just remove the harness by PULLING the tab and jiggle the whole headlight out of the car. No damage, just some elbow grease and care. I wasnt fixing to remove the whole dang bumper for a DRL...THE MORE YOU KNOW
