Thanks for checking out this video! Let me know what you think of these new headlights. Are there other brands/styles you like better? What are your favorites?
Hey, I have a Mk7 GTI with halogen headlights and I've used this video to remove one of them to properly install a led bulb on the high beam. Although it was a PITA your video helped a lot, I didn't removed completely the bumper but it went well in the end. Keep making the mods and thanks for sharing the videos! Greetings from Brazil.

The sequential all the way from the front through the mirror is amazing. I just put the side mirror signals on using your video and am thinking a large charge on my card may show up for these headlights.....😂
*Awesome* ! So glad to hear the videos are inspiring and more importantly helpful. Sorry it's taking a toll on your bank account - but project cars tend to do that.

@@DadWagon I'm pretty excited about it! Yours looks way different than the first video I watched on your channel! I'll have to catch up on all the videos.
Lights look great! I've been sub'd to your channel for the last few months (when I bought my '17 GSW 4-Motion) and have really appreciated the content. Thanks! I installed the Ed's MK7.5 style lights a few weeks ago and have been looking for something for comparison. I noticed that the Helix's have brighter DRL's. My Ed's DRL's are not as bright and are slightly blue. However, I LOVE the LED "bulbs" that came pre-installed in the Ed's. Great projector pattern (super-bright, but super-focused) and I love how the high-beam projectors slightly illuminate when they're not technically 'on'. I strongly considered the Helix's because of the interchangeable bulb capability, but having read lots of good stuff about Ed's after-sale support, I'm confident about the purchase. Next up, this spring: 18-inch wheels (I'm on the lookout for VW Laguna's), and getting rid of a fists worth of fender-gap. Cheers!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Glad to have you along for the ride. I do like the high beam "always" you mentioned of the Ed's. I may be looking into the LED conversion in the future as well. The Ed's have alot of great reviews and seem to be the favorite amongst GSW/Alltrack peeps. The Lagunas are going to look great! Can't wait to see it!
Thanks! @@DadWagon I haven't gotten into the VW forums yet, as all I've done are the lights and 30% tint (which taking into account the factory UV tint, is more like >25% - rollin' dirty, hahah!). I'll post pics when I get wheels/tires, and send you a link. I'm thinking 225/45's (or wider) on 18's and keeping the suspension stock (for now) as I actually like the 'squishy' ride compared to my previous car - a turbo-swapped Forester 2.5XT on a JDM STI wagon suspension set-up... that beat the crap out of me while driving on Seattle's virtually unmaintained streets, hahah!. Hi, nice video! Got a question, when i use low beam my led strip turn off, it works only in daylight running lights (DRL) but i want it to work together with low beam, any ideas?
Nice Vid! I want to upgrade the crappy stock halogen headlights on my 2016 GSW. I've been looking at the Ed's with the LED low beams, but was uncertain about doing the install. You're video gives me quite a bit of confidence that I may be able to pull this off!
Good day I have a Golf 7 GTI 2015 and would like to install the same headlights 7.5 GTI headlights would it fit just like that without any adjustments? Can you please advise me before I buy them ?
Two quick questions, over a year later have you had any humidity or water issues with these Helix headlights AND did it take any OBD2 port coding or was it plug and play? Thank you Mick
1. No humidity or condensation issues on my set. I know other youtubers like Colgate Mk7 GTI have experience issues with this. 2. No coding to get these to work right... or at least how they work for me :)
I spent quite a bit of time getting this right. It was a matter of loosening all the bolts, getting them in the position you want, and then slowly torquing each of the bolts down to keep them in place until fully bolted in.
@@DadWagon when the car starts up can you see the Bi Xenon headlight move around while they self-test and adjust? Auto leveling and auto cornering features come standard on the golf with bi xenon headlights.

Hey, have you found any dynamic tail lights to match the dynamic headlights ? I've wanted the Helix headlights for a long time, but can't find matching tail lights for the Sportwagen, so I sort of lost interest . I've been searching for ages , and unfortunately , because the GTI and the Sportwagen tail light shapes are different , nobody seems to make dynamic tail lights for the Sportwagen .
Hey Peter - I'm not sure - I don't know enough about the bi Xenon setup to say for sure. I'm sure there's someone who's done the conversion on golfmk7.com
New to your channel, have a mk7 tdi with halogens… im running the Deautokey LED bulbs. Not sure if theyll work with that headlight plug. Have you switched your bulbs since the install?
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off the dynamic effect of the headlights/taillights? Maybe with OBDeleven or something? Im not a fan of dynamic signals.

So the autokey bulbs dont utilize the stock tab/adapter thing. So the plug on the helix wouldnt work on the bulbs
