    I would love if there was more footage and coverage of tattoos on changing bodies. This isn't a "you'll regret that when you're older!" comment, quite the opposite. Tattoos are permanent, but our bodies change over a lifetime. I wanna see how the tattoos you got 50 years ago look on your skin, how the placement shifted to suit you as you gained or lost weight, or how surgery scars and stretch marks have added to the artworks. I don't know how to begin looking this up, but I wonder if there are any tattoo artists who plan their work around these things, anticipating the wonder of age, change, and growth.

Bodies are such wonderful things and I find myself almost lovesick thinking about the ways we decorate them.

    I totally understand the appeal, but i would feel pretty trapped if i was wearing one single person's vision. Having pieces from different artists is about me the person who chose those at different times, my personal evolution and growth. • @frostfang1

    • @labellelace
      @labellelace 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Right??? I love the idea of having a collection of different artworks displayed on my skin. Eclectic sleeves are so much more personal and meaningful, at least in my opinion, as each tattoo is from a different time in your life with different memories attached. Even “meaningless” tattoos like flash can have meaning, even if it is as simple as you loving an artist’s work.
      People aren’t wrong to favor larger cohesive pieces from a single artist, it just will never be my personal cup of tea

  • @junejunejuniejune

    I think his work is beautiful, but I wonder what kind of person would get a full body suit from 1 artist. Because I feel like tattoos can be very addictive, and its almost like a collection of art and stories on someones body. Getting this would be such a commitment to one style, one artist, and like a one and done in terms of that amazing feeling after getting a tattoo (although obviously would take many many sessions).

If you want flowers, pick an artist who does amazing flowers, not someone who is a great price but does only Disney characters. Or an artist who doesn't tell their client that dark tattoos won't be very visible on dark skin.

    Definitely gorgeous work! ❤ But I personally couldn’t commit to having so much black ink… I have 2 tattoos, one is a watercolor lily on the back of my shoulder with the kanji for artist in a dark purple. The other is a lotus on my forearm that was supposed to be a watercolor like the one on my back (no outline, look like a painting, that sort of thing) but the girl who did it, despite my giving her a picture of what I wanted, discussing it, giving her clear instructions, totally botched it. She had me lying down with my arm out to the side so I couldn’t see what was going on until it was done. Imagine how pissed I was that she gave me the black outline I didn’t want (and she cut me when she did it) and used the generic watercolor colors instead of what I wanted. She rushed through it to get it done in a half hour (she was running late for our appointment as it was) and I now have a faded, discolored artichoke instead of a beautiful lotus. She didn’t even get the ink in deep enough for it to stay because it was faded in a few months to the point where it looked like I’d had it for years. Now I have to look at this ugly thing until I have enough money to go get a real artist to fix it (I already found someone). It’s such a bother…

    his work is phenomenal, incredible and crazy good and yes it's unique but so can be patchwork tattoos too. i'm an artist and i draw all my tattoos myself and i wanna be my own sketchbook. messy, not perfect, not 100% planned out, etc and it makes my tattoos unique too. i would not wanna start over just to get a full sleeve in 1 coherent design since it personally isn't for me and it saddens me that some people think a full sleeve like that is better than patchwork or any other style

    The use of negative space in their work is sooooo cool 😮

    Wow.. every one of those was AMAZING..he is truly..truly talented..gosh.. the only way I'd do such a heavy/large job like that would be through him.. each one was so creative and the color scheme of the black makes the design stand out even more boldly.. incredible!

    Absolutely stunning, gorgeous. Word of warning ladies, wait until after you’ve had kids or decided not to before getting this done. Not all pregnancies go as expected, even for the healthy and strong. Tattoos don’t hold up well when you’re dealing with preeclampsia/toxaemia. Or choose to look at it positively, like a new tattoo that your pregnant body has uniquely and organically created.

    I think they’re absolutely gorgeous and so incredibly impressive talent but I think my only thing with blackout tattoos covering that much of your body is wouldn’t it be a bit harder to notice dirt/cuts/etc on your skin that’s blacked out?

    Just tattoo it on top of your old tattoos. The free parts could be lasered or you just leave your old tats looking through 😊

    Finally an artist I could realistically go to even tho Belgium and France are closer to me than Amsterdam is. This is a great idea for a leg because I’m a bit clueless with what to do, I have plenty of ideas but scarring will probably ruin it so this would be a great alternative!
